Luckily, my problem occurred at the sales room floor, which perhaps kept me from repeating the experiences others experienced. The salesperson was overtly aggressive and belittled myself and my mother. This was the worst experience I have ever had when buying a car. Management response was reasonable, but the sales experience was so offensive it has been impossible for me to have any further relationship with the dealer. More
The sales dept. is marginal at best. And once you get past that department and need service after the sale, it is a horrible experience. I could tell dozens of stories here - after purchasing just one new car from them. To give you an idea of what I mean, I had my new car for only about three days out of the first three weeks of ownership. There were no mechanical problems, but we ordered add-on accessories, which Green either failed to install properly or put on someone else's car everytime a new part came in. Since then, I have been repeatedly overcharged, ignored, and suffered absurdly long waits even for a simple oil change. Don't expect your salesman to help you either. Once their salespeople make commission on you, that's where it ends for them. The newly aquired Green Nissan is no better. More pushy saleman and substandard service. I took some Nissan recall work there, it was a nightmare. More
I purchased a used Toyota from them. After I left the lot, it all went downhill. The salesman "mistakenly" left off a sales tax charge, billing us for over $400. Found out later this was a scam. I contac lot, it all went downhill. The salesman "mistakenly" left off a sales tax charge, billing us for over $400. Found out later this was a scam. I contacted the stated attorney office, nothing they could do because we signed an agreement that if a mistake is made and caught later, we are liable. Tried to talk to the general manager, he could care less. Tried to talk to the owner, was never in. Left messages, not even a reply. I traded that vehicle on another. I will never again do any business with franchise that has "Green" in the name. More
I purchased my RAV4 in 2003 from Green and had an ok experience but now I was looking to get a Prius and so I went into the dealership and they seemed indifferent to me. They also didn't have anything a experience but now I was looking to get a Prius and so I went into the dealership and they seemed indifferent to me. They also didn't have anything available but the "top of the line" Prius that had more than I wanted. So I started searching online for the car I wanted and ended up getting a great deal 75 miles away at Alton Toyota. After purchasing my Toyota there and reading the manual, I needed to change some of the programmable features so I set up an appointment to have Green Toyota change them. The service department took the car in and I waited for several minutes in the waiting room when a service manager called me over and told me that since I didn't purchase my new Toyota from them that I would need to pay $45 to have the programming changed. I refused so he told me to take the car back to Alton Toyota if I wanted to the programming changed. I will never set foot into this dealship again! They should not even be a certified Toyota dealership if they will not service a new Toyota with less than a 1000 miles on it! I called the corporate Toyota customer service line and gave them my story as well. You are by far better off driving to Alton or any other Toyota dealership than going here! More
My windshield was cracked when I got it back from the service department!! I took my car in for a noise and was also going to have an oil change. The first time around they ordered the part I needed an service department!! I took my car in for a noise and was also going to have an oil change. The first time around they ordered the part I needed and forgot to change the oil. When the part came in I took my car back in for service. When I picked my car up that night, the windshield was cracked. They left it sitting out in the cold all day and then ran it through the car wash. Of course, I brought this to their attention. They seemed like they would fix it, but told me I would have to bring my car back in so that someone could approve the glass repair. When I drove my car, I noticed it was still making the same noise. That's right not only was my car not fixed, but now my windshield was cracked. I used my lunch hour one day to bring my car back in just as they said. They had me sit in the waiting room while some lady looked at the crack in my windshield. Later they came and got me and said they wanted to show me something. They claim that the crack was due to a rock that hit my windshield. I pointed out to them that not only was my car not fixed, but now my windhshield was cracked. The lady that looked at the windshield, said "oh I didn't know you brought your car in for service, I thought you just brought it in for the crack in the windshield." By the way they left me standing outside in the cold for about fifteen minutes while they would go inside and discuss things in the office. In the end they wouldn't fix my windsheild and I had to pay for it myself. Thank god I didn't purchase my car from this dealership. I just took it there for service because it's closer, Big Mistake! If your in Springfield, IL and want to buy a Toyota or have it serviced save yourself the hassle and make the 30 minute drive to Crown in Decatur. More
I had a problem with my car that took almost 5 weeks to repair. I have an I4 2007 Rav4 that I had supposedly a simple problem with a wheel sensor. It had to go in 3 times before they kept it, then I was supposed to get it the next day. I called and was told the replacement was bad. So they ordered another one. Two weeks later I finaly get it back and drive 90 miles, and the problem reoccured. They kept the vehicle again it took almost another 3 weeks to get it repaired. In thes time they replaced the wheel sensor 3 times, the wheel hub twice, and the ECM once, before it worked. I have also had problems with gas mileage since I have owned it. I am getting 18 MPG since I have owned it. I have talked to friends with the same car that are getting 30. I had contacted Toyota directly many times and they just kept refering me to the dealer, they would do nothing. I tried to trade out of it and to trade up into the same car and was told it would cost me $15,000.00 to trade out of it. So I have a car that I am not happy with and gets lowsy mileage compared to the same car. And am looking at a service contract to protect myself because I can not afford to trade it. More
Their sales department couldn't give us the time of day. My wife and I knew exactly what we wanted and went in to buy. A salesman told us if we didn't see it they didn't have it and couldn't get it - the end. So we went to a Toyota dealership by the St. Louis airport (Lynch) and bought exactly what we were looking for and honestly it was the best and easiest vehicle purchase we have EVER had. Bottom line is that when we walked into Green we were a sure thing and they treated us like crap. More
