Went here to test trade a odyssey for a new 2022 model. I called before going in due to the market I know many dealers are charging greater than MSRP so I didn’t want to waste my time or theirs. They told me called before going in due to the market I know many dealers are charging greater than MSRP so I didn’t want to waste my time or theirs. They told me over the phone they were not charging over MSRP but when I got there they were charging 6000 over MSRP. I knew more about the car than the salesman did but to be fair he did say he just started there. He was friendly but undermining and manipulating asking me “what exactly are you trying to accomplish “ when I stated I didn’t want to pay greater than MSRP stating”as long as your payments are where you want them why does it matter” I realize this is sales tactics but I was not treated this way at any of the other dealerships and I went to multiple where they were honest over the phone and then when I got there and decided I didn’t want it due to elevated pricing they did not undermine or try to manipulate I realize if I don’t fall for it someone else will. I feel really bad for the people they are fast talking into paying more then they want to. I realize many places are charging more than MSRP due to the market which is fine but why waste my time all the other dealers I have called have been honest over the phone. And shop around not every dealer is taking advantage of the market I got fair deal for my trade in and just bought an odyssey at MSRP nothing above at another dealership where the salesmen were rt friendly and not pushy at all. They also knew about the cars they were selling and were able to answer my questions. I prefer to shop elsewhere I will not come back here. I will go back to the dealer I bought my car from everytime even though it is an hour away. More

Due to the pandemic, I preferred to discuss everything over the phone. Initially someone contacted me after I responded by text to mail I received regarding trading in my current vehicle. I gave the perso over the phone. Initially someone contacted me after I responded by text to mail I received regarding trading in my current vehicle. I gave the person my VIN number, which allowed them to pull up a report with info that there were no accidents. My vehicle was two years old and had less than five thousand miles. After discussing the type vehicle I was interested in as well as knowing what my trade in value was, this person wouldn't give me an approximate payment amount and said I had to go to Great Lakes for them to look at my car first. I then decided to think about it, but actually was against trading it in because I was told I had to go there. About a week later I received a call from Lynn, who I had dealt with in the past and really preferred to deal with. Lynn is ALWAYS cordial and goes all out to provide the best service. She recognized my name on something as currently inquiring about trading in. I was very pleased to hear from her. She was able to provide me with approximate loan and payment information without me having to go there. Of course, she knew my history which probably made it possible for her to be able to do so. Because she worked with me over the phone, this allowed me to make a final decision before wasting my time going in if it wouldn't have been in my budget. When I did go there in person, she was as cordial and accommodating as she has always been. Thank you, Lynn!!! I'm very pleased with this purchase. More
Very Shady People!! At roughly 11:30 i entered your dealership with the intention of figuring out the best option to purchase my lease. In 2018 i leased a vehicle from your dealership for my son. He wa dealership with the intention of figuring out the best option to purchase my lease. In 2018 i leased a vehicle from your dealership for my son. He was a few months shy of his 18th birthday and since he was getting great grades in school, along with working a lot of hours at this job. We felt he de deserved a nice car to drive. My main question was on how we could arrange for my son and his mother to come up to the store and arrange for him to buy the vehicle. I called Honda Finace, and they stated that the dealership could do that us. Since the lease is up on the 11th, and i will be out of town i wanted to handle all the paperwork i needed to be present for. That way i wouldnt need to be there when they came in. After speaking to John Sinchok, the finace manager how i wanted my son to buy out the lease. Note: John was very helpful and answered all my questions and ensured me there was no issue with doing that and that it would only cost $250 for them to do the paperwork. Next John introduced me to Marcus Morris, and said he would be handling all the paperwork i needed to complete before my wife and son come to finalize everything. At this point i figured that the issue was handeled. Then Marcus presented me with a payoff quote that was much higher then the one i got from Honda Finace. And Honda Finace stated that the taxes were included in the payoff price of $11,599.73, so with the $250 your dealership is making for doing the paperwork should make it $11,849.73. When i asked Marcus about why he was charging me and additional $800 plus dollars for tax, then the tax is included already in the payoff price from Honda. He said he didnt know and that his payoff price was what he was willing to sell the car for. And she still could not provide me with answers on why the price was over $1000 more then the original payoff price. After i advised Marcus i was foing to call Honda Finace back and confirm the price, he got really rude and said well go ahead and call them and rudely walked away. The lady i spoke to again at honda finace said that there shouldnt be tax in that number is they are brokering the paperwork for you. However they may charge a fee to do the paperwork. I figured that was what the $250 was for. So advised Marcus of the information i was given, and he gor really rude again and said i dont know why they said that, we are on the up and up and this is what we can sell you the car for. He was really stand offish and not acting like i would feel a salesman would act. So at this point i called the lady back at honda finace and paid cash for the car over the phone. She also said the dealership should provide me with the original odomoter and power of atty paperwork. When i asked Marcus for this paperwork, he took my papers out of my hands and said if you want anything else you need to go honda. Our services are no longer available to you. He was very rude and wouldnt give my the paperwork with your quote on it that made notes on. He said ill give you a copy and only copyed the notes i wrote on it and not the provided quote information. And i feel im entitled to that quote and should be provided with it for my records. And he didnt need to throw the copy at me as say your good to leave, we are done here. I must say in all my years of doing business with car dealerships, this experience has by far been the worst. Between my wife and myself we have got our last 3 cars from this dealership and asvised 2 others to buy from them as well. And after my experience with Marcus im not sure if ill do business with Greatlakes Honda again. And i still feel i should know why the price was inflated so much, and not given the run around and attitude for questioning it. More
I went to look at a reasonably priced used 2015 Honda Civic for $13,773 with 86k miles, VIN: 19XFB2E53FE060889. The car ran great and clean otherwise EXCEPT upon walkaround I opened the back passenger Civic for $13,773 with 86k miles, VIN: 19XFB2E53FE060889. The car ran great and clean otherwise EXCEPT upon walkaround I opened the back passenger door to find a fist sized corrosion hole between the wheel well and the door jam that they covered with strips of black electrical tape to make it go unnoticed. not surface rust, a hole with tape over it. After talking with salesperson he said they remained firm on the price despite this being a huge deal breaker for any consumer. there is no doubt that in northeast Ohio with wind, rain and snow, this hole would expand outwards to the face of the car and wheel well. The price tag on the car was for a 2015 used vehicle in GOOD condition ( relatively clean and minor wear and tear) any blue or black book appraisal source would rate this vehicle as fair considering the damage and repair cost if it is repairable. they have since lowered the cost by $200 dollars but this car would run a significant risk of losing 3k of private party resale value right off the lot and potentially more within 3-5 years. They would be lucky to see $11,300 for the vehicle to a naïve or optimistic buyer. Kelly BB and Edmunds appraises the car at max $10,300 even in this market. Do not buy this vehicle at the sticker price. Tread lightly at this seller. More
