We narrowed down the vehicles by style and initial impressions of the sales representatives. Subaru and Mazda were 1 and 2. If Subaru didn't provide satisfaction in all areas then we were off to Mazda. The vehicle that they wanted was actually sold before they arrived on Tuesday. It was desired primarily because of price. Randy explained the situation well, helped with a different vehicle, worked through price and finance, and made Nathan and Laura feel very comfortable. Thank you for making this a very positive experience for my son and his wife. Jeff Tanner More

Last Sat. was a sunny day, so we drove from Cosby to Grayson. Seth was not there, but we were met by Jerry Coppinger, who was extremely nice and friendly. I told him my top limit was $15,000, that I wanted a used Subaru Impreza with low mileage. He showed me the 2007 Impreza, plus a Forrester which was the same price but had many more miles. I chose the Impreza. The car was spotless inside and out and the test drive went well, considering this was the first time I had driven since my accident. We had a bit of a wait after the car was ready, but it was a pleasant one and due to the fact that David was processing a couple of customers before us. I have not had to have any service done yet, so cannot comment on the service dept other than to say I am so glad that they are open on Saturdays. I do not enjoy driving to Knoxville, but Saturday traffic is lighter and easier on my nerves! By the time we settled on a price, it was $300 over what I had said my limit was. We did not haggle. They filled the gas tank for me, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience which took slightly less than 3 hours from the time I walked onto the lot until I drove the Subaru home. I appreciate greatly the fact that no one talked "down" to me as a woman buying the car in my name only. I have had that experience in the past and did not like it. I will be back for hopefully what will be only routine maintenance, and will definitely recommend this dealership to others. Sincerely, Nancy Lingerfelt More
We have nothing but good things to say about the people at Grayson's. From helping us with installing a car seat base to getting an extra remote programmed everyone was attentive and super helpful. We have already tested our forester in the snow on Jellico mountain and could not be more pleased! More
By far one of the best purchase experiances of an auto in my lifetime. I have also had my Forester in for 2 normal service appointments since the purchase and everything met or exceeded my expectations. I hi my lifetime. Our salesman Joe Miller has to be the best salesman i have ever done business with. He went above his job to insure that we could get the car we wanted at the price we could afford, even after the financ have ever done business with. He went above his job to insure that we could get the car we wanted at the price we could afford, even after the financing dept. had closed he did checks to help us get our new car. then the next day the finance mgr work with several companies to get us the best rate possible. i will always gp back to grayson for my car needs. I purchased a used WRX from these folks. This is the most aggressive/conniving new & used car dealership I've used. They used a version of a check ransoming ploy, holding a ridiculous non-refundable (if I backed out) sum to hold a car overnight and have it detailed. They used other aggressvie tactics (someone else is about to make an offer... etc) The vehicle had hit a deer and had been repaired, which they admitted they knew when I showed them a carfax, but they did not volunteer this information. I bought the car anyway because the price was okay, and there weren't any other WRX's available nearby. Within weeks, the paint peeled off of two small bumper components where a repair had been done. The dealer offered to repaint these components- for about $700. Overall, I found this dealer to be very shady. Anytime I've bought a used car from a new car dealer prior to this, I was treated much better before and after the sale. If you are buying a Subaru in the Knoxville area, I recommend you give this dealer a pass and go somewhere else. More
The people are friendly, but don't be fooled. That can be very decieving.

Let me tell you MY story. I recieved a phone call after filling out an online loan request form from Grayson Pontiac. They told me they wanted to make a deal and that they couldn't get myself approved. So my boyfriend cosigned with me. They took only ten minutes to say that we were both approved and should come down immidiatly.

So we did. The whomanl who was going to help us asked what kind of car I was looking for. I told her I wanted something small and red, under $10,000. I told her I couldn't make a down payment (which was why I wanted a loan) and I needed my payments per month to be from $150-$200, lower if possible. She said they would see what they could do. The woman showed us a nice Mazda 626 that she said was in my price range. So we went inside to do the paperwork. She comes back out with an estimate and said that the sale price was $15000, but they'd sell it to us for $12000. Not in my price range, but it doesn't end there. She said the payments would be anywhere from $300-$400 a month and a down payment of over $3000!!!

Now that might not be unreasonable to some, but this girl didn't listen to me at all! I'm a student and I work only part time. I could never afford a payment like that!!! The girl was no help and a guy came over to finish the deal. He lowered the payment to $250 and made it so we could only pay a down payment of $200. That works, right? It was still a big payment though. But anyway, they let me drive the car home that day.

After much stress and thinking, I decided I couldn't afford a car until the summer, so the next day, we took it back. They THEN told us that we weren't even approved for the car!! (Then why let us drive it home? Morons!). They said the bank didn't approve it because they thought a young person would more likely make payments on a newer car than an older one (it was only a 2000!). She then asked if we wanted to go look at a 04 or 05.

They didn't seem to understand that I wasn't making alot of money and I could barely afford the first car. I told them I wasn't going to look until summer and they may see us again then.

But no way am I EVER going back there.

The moral of the story, don't go to Grayson Pontiac. More
