Review for Grayson BMW of Knoxville, TN To anyone considering a purchase from Grayson BMW of Knoxville, please STAY AWAY. Don’t do business with this dealership. You may think you’ve found the car yo considering a purchase from Grayson BMW of Knoxville, please STAY AWAY. Don’t do business with this dealership. You may think you’ve found the car you’ve been looking for and the price is great. However, under the hood and behind the shiny pant, awaits problems and nightmares. The salesman may seem nice, everyone is smiling, but they are in business to take advantage of you. They only want your money, afterwards you won’t hear from them again. They don’t support you or stand behind their products. I anticipated the joy of owning a BMW X5 but was instead met with blatant dishonesty and indifference from the dealership. During the test drive, I identified a faulty temperature display. The client advisor had the service technician put the car on the diagnostic machine. I was told the it was a minor issue, that the car just needed an update and everything was “fixed”. Unfortunately, this was just the tip of the iceberg. As I drove the car home, the infotainment system began to go in and out. I couldn’t get my mobile phone to connect and use the Bluetooth functionality. Worse yet, the next day during rain, water leaked from the windshield onto the electrical panel. I called Grayson BMW after each incident and was told not to worry, everything would be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. I took the vehicle to a local BMW dealership and they revealed there was a third party windshield installed and not properly fitted, which allowed the water to leak into the cabin and damage the electrical panel. I tried contacting Grayson BMW for two days. They ignored all of my calls and voicemails. I sent an email with the inspection report and invoice. The used car manger finally responded and said “Unfortunately, we never placed a windshield in the X5 therefore we cannot provide any assistance.” They were not only dismissive, but entirely deceptive about their role and responsibilities. This is not just about a windshield. It’s about a dealership’s commitment to honesty, integrity, its duty to customers and standing behind their products. This level of disregard is not only unprofessional, but speaks volumes about Grayson BMW’s values. Please use my experience as a warning and DO NOT purchase a vehicle from Grayson BMW. More
On the morning of 8/22 I took my car into service and get the pcv valve recall and was told that they had my recall scheduled but no oil change. The Service Advisor then asked me what year my car was and I t the pcv valve recall and was told that they had my recall scheduled but no oil change. The Service Advisor then asked me what year my car was and I told him it was a 2006. He explained that was the issue because apparently they have a policy that they don’t service vehicles older then 2013!? While I waited I called BMW of Nashville and asked if they had such a policy. They informed me that they didn’t and would be happy to provide me a oil change. They found it very odd that they refused me service because I had a older car. I find it completely ridiculous that a local BMW dealership would not service their own vehicle but a BMW dealership 4 hours away would. At the conclusion of my recall I was informed that my car had a severe gas leak that was not safe on my BMW. When I brought it in there was no noticeable gas leak so that concerned me. The advisor Josh told me to take it somewhere else to get fixed and told me to have a good day. I was in shock that they told me that my vehicle had a bad gas leak and was unsafe to drive, but still insisted I take it somewhere else to get fixed!! I was at a BMW service center that could have addressed this issue but instead told me to go somewhere else with it, with no concern for my safety or the safety of others. I left Grayson and took my car to the a gas station because it was almost out of gas. When I filled it up the gas was leaking extremely bad out from under the car. Which was not that way in the days previous. I contacted the Service Manager Dan and told him my concerns and how I was treated. He told me he was not aware of the situation and would address it with his team in a training session. He told me that they should have brought to him to make a decision on how to proceed. At no point did he attempt to help with the issue or address my concerns of my safety. More

Salesman Arron Walker saw both professional and courteous throughout my purchase of a 17 year old BMW M Roadster which Grayson BMW listed as in "Excellent condition". Arron was most helpful until I started throughout my purchase of a 17 year old BMW M Roadster which Grayson BMW listed as in "Excellent condition". Arron was most helpful until I started seeing, and pointing out, a few problems with the car. Then I was told the car was "an as is sale" and that "in excellent condition" rally meant "excellent condition for its age" which can be interpreted to mean that the car is still running, NOT THAT ITS CONDITION IS REALLY EXCELLENT! A somewhat minor problem was the broken third stop light in the trunk. From experience I know that once the plastic in the light brakes the light disintegrates. Cost: A new part, uninstalled in my hand, $198.68 before tax. But the real problem was a dash light showing a FAILED MAIN AIRBAG! Arron tried to pretend that nobody at Grayson BMW had noticed this major problem! The fault is not with Arron Walker, the salesman, it is with Grayson BMW for not revealing that the car had a failed main airbag but instead misrepresented the car as "in excellent condition". Further, it is obviously the policy of Grayson BMW to hide problems and to misrepresent the condition of used cars it offers for sale. I have given Grayson BMW a 4 star rating out of great generosity because the individuals with whom I dealt were helpful, friendly and professional. The problem is therefore with the upper management and their policy of deception. Years ago there were jokes about the definition of dishonesty being a "used car salesman". Grayson BMW is keeping that tradition alive! More
