I’ve been doing business with Grayson BMW for nine years having ordered my brand new 2015 X5 through them and having every bit of any service needed done by them. All the oil changes have all been done when having ordered my brand new 2015 X5 through them and having every bit of any service needed done by them. All the oil changes have all been done when necessary, and when the car warranty was up, I bought the oil change package on the recommendation of my service agent Justin, who by the way has been excellent and very helpful all these years. Recently, I had an oil leak where they had to replace the gaskets and the oil manifold, which was quite costly. A few months later I noticed oil on my garage floor, obviously leaking from the car. When I took it back to Grayson, they told me that it was a different issue with oil actually leaking onto the oil pan and it was going to be another several thousand dollars. When my husband spoke with the service manager, Dan, he wanted to discuss with Dan some options for BMW to work with us on this cost. Dan flatly refused and used the excuse that the warranty was no longer valid so there was nothing they could do for us. He was quite rude, I might add. We contacted BMW to see if they would be willing to do anything and got the same answer, although the folks at BMW weren’t rude, like Dan. I love my car and have thoroughly enjoyed it all these years and was planning on purchasing another BMW X5 for my next car. While I realize I don’t have to purchase it from Grayson BMW, I would still have to have it serviced somewhere and since Grayson is the only dealership in Knoxville, I would have to use them. I can understand BMW’s position on this however given the amount of money that I have spent on the first oil leak repair and the estimate for the second oil leak repair in such a short time. I had hoped they would try to do something to help us offset this cost a bit. We were not asking for anything free just to be clear. Dan also told us this is “normal”. Perhaps if it’s so normal, they should disclose that before customers buy the car? Honestly, if Dan had not been so smug and rude, I still would convince my husband that we should buy or lease a new BMW from Grayson. I will be either purchasing or leasing a new car in the next year and unfortunately, it will not be from Grayson. How one comes across and responds in customer service roles is very important and I’m quite surprised after this experience with Grayson and especially Dan that I’m even being asked to write this review. I will do business with a dealer in the future that can put their arrogance and ego aside and actually strive to help and keep their customers. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the goal of an automobile dealer to attract and retain customers long-term? More

This dealership sold us an absolute lemon. Frank’s dishonesty after deceptively building our trust was very disheartening. I knew immediately we were “had” when the dealership told us one price for the shipping of the car and told the actual shipper a higher amount- leaving me to work that out with him in my driveway in the dark at 9pm. I was told the car had minor “cosmetic” issues like a “small” crack in the windshield and “minor” issues with the door paneling. Well, the crack spanned the entire windshield and the driver and passenger door paneling are literally falling off. Furthermore, the latch to open the hood was completely broken, so I doubt the validity of the oil change the car supposedly got. The sun roof doesn’t open, the sidewall of two of the tires was raw, and both headlights were out. The battery died within one month. After replacing the tires and battery, the car died again within a few weeks. Upon taking it to the repair shop, we found out that just to get the car safe enough to drive we are looking at over $4,000 in work. This, plus the tires, batteries, and headlights puts the repairs beyond the value of the car. And this doesn’t even include the less severe things like suspension, which also needs major work, that can be put off a little longer. We are absolutely disgusted with Grayson BMW… that they would take advantage of out-of-state buyers putting trust in the online car purchasing process… especially Frank, who assured us that the car only had “minor cosmetic issues.” There is NO way this dealership did not know they were selling an unsafe car, and will certainly be looking into legal action. The repair shop said that we are lucky we weren’t seriously injured by driving this car! Thank you, Frank, for helping us learn the hard way that car salesman, in fact, cannot be trusted and that just because a dealership carries the BMW name, this doesn’t ensure a quality transaction. More
