I brought my car in for rear brakes and flush, an issue discovered from the multipoint inspection during my previous appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. The work was completed in a timely fash discovered from the multipoint inspection during my previous appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. The work was completed in a timely fashion. Evidently I misunderstood the quoted price for the work on the paperwork I received at the previous appointment, but when I called to make the appointment I was assured the price would be honored. I signed the form for the work when I checked in in the morning - I did not read the form as I felt it was a formality. When the work was completed I was told the cost was $250 more than I expected. I showed the amount in the quote and the understanding when I called to make the appointment. They explained the quote which cleared up my misunderstanding, but I still had the understanding of them honoring what I thought the quote was in the paperwork, because otherwise I would have gone elsewhere as I had a similar quote elsewhere. I was offered a $50 discount but was not satisfied with that. Ultimately the price was adjusted and I paid what I expected. I admitted I misunderstood the quote. And I realize they could have held me to the actual price because I signed the form with that pricing in the morning - although in doing so they would have lost a customer. Because they honored the understanding I had from when I called to make the appointment, I continue to be a loyal customer! More
