Are there still good, nice people in the car business? The short answer is yes but you need to look for them!! Lucky for us, we found the guys at Global Kia in North Plainfield, NJ. Here’s my not so The short answer is yes but you need to look for them!! Lucky for us, we found the guys at Global Kia in North Plainfield, NJ. Here’s my not so short – short story. Monday – We learned my son’s car was totaled after what we thought was a minor fender bender that turned out to be a bent frame! Tuesday - We stop by one of our local Mega dealer for a test drive of a gas and hybrid Kia Sportage. We immediately LOVED the Hybrid and HATED the dealer. $4,000 over sticker and an attitude that we needed them more than they needed us. They tried to justify all the value adds to us but what they were really saying was: we take advantage of the customer because supply is low, demand is high and we can! Sorry – Not Sorry “this is the way it is everywhere”. Well guess what? That’s not the way it is everywhere. Wednesday- I found a car online at Global Kia and spoke to a gentlemen name Lamore Merchant. I use the word gentlemen to convey a nice, kind, caring professional who wanted to help me with a mutually beneficial transaction. I told Lamore I wanted to buy a car this week or this month and if he could work with me, the Kia Sportage was the car we wanted. After an easy 10-15-minute conversation we arrived at a 3-year lease more than $70/month cheaper than the “take it or leave it guys” we met on Tuesday. Lamore agreed to hold the car for us that was due to arrive at the dealership in about 10 days. Thursday – Lamore introduces me to Tony Persaud. Another reasonable and caring gentleman who takes my credit application and helps me complete the paperwork to secure the vehicle for lease. No surprises, no bait and switch, and then he drops the big bombshell. He says I know we told you the car would be in next Wednesday BUT……. The car came in TODAY!! Do you want to come in on Friday and get it! Holly cow, $70 less a month and now almost a week early. Since my son’s old car was totaled our insurance company wanted the rental car back so the timing was perfect. Saturday – We go to the dealership. We meet many, many nice people who take great care of us including Chace and Bruno in Finance who made easy work of the documentation. A quick 20-minute tutorial from Tony including setting up the Kia Connect account and syncing my son’s cell phone and we drive home with our brand new 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid at a price that was as promised, with a full tank of gas, and with a car near a week ahead of schedule. What a GREAT experience. We bought a brand-new car almost entirely over the phone from nice people who understand what it’s like to be a customer and treat folks the way I assume they want to be treated. We can’t say enough good things about the team at Global Kia and if the car lives up to all the hype in the press and the 38 MPG rating what more could we ask for! Mike & Zach H. More

Courtesy excellent help by Bruno unfortunately the car I wanted was just bought but he assured me one would be in soon...from the moment he opened the front door to us I felt comfortable. I wish I could give them a zero rating they are the worst Jeep service department in the Tri-state area. It has been over a year since I first brought my jeep to them for a paint corrosion warranty issue and Jeep service department in the Tri-state area. It has been over a year since I first brought my jeep to them for a paint corrosion warranty issue and instead of them coming right out and admitting that they were not going to fix my issue they kept giving me the go around every month the service advisor would call me up and say that there was an issue with the pics that they took and they need me to come back in to take more pics this went on for a year until the last time Tracy called me up and said that she now needs to take pics of the paint corrosion with a clear ruler needless to say they never fixed my paint corrosion I kept all phone messages and text messages I just wish there was a way that I could complain to Jeep about this dealership More
they service sucks. I got my vehicle back the last time days before the lemon law would have kicked in. I've been trying to speak to the service manager for over a month now sent to emails of my issue and dozens of call. he's either busy or not in. lies. lies lies. what's wrong with the least bit of communication to you customers. I sure didn't have any problem reaching anyone when it was time to make my purchase. now I'm just a nobody. well this won't be a repeat customer until they bend over backwards for me. More
Worst dealership ever. If I could give them a zero rating I would. 1) It took over a year to install my tow hitch. I had to call for updates over the course of a year while waiting for the parts/service since the dealer never followed up with me. 2) The 2nd time I got my oil changed they didn't install the oil cap back on. As a result I had oil all over the engine and a cracked radiator cover (since the cap was rested on the cover and hood slammed closed over top) 3) When they picked up my car to fix the oil/radiator cover issue they cracked my windshield and tried to return the car to me as though nothing was wrong. 4) When the radiator cover and oil problem were fixed they removed pop rivets from the plastic cover on both front wheel wells and didn't replace them (I am still waiting for them to fix this) Overall this is a terrible dealership that has zero value or respect for their customers. They do not call you back or answer the phone EVER! If you bring your car in for service YOU should do a full inspection of your car afterwards (They will not) They will not and rest assured you will find something wrong or not replaced upon investigation. More
