Spent over 2 hours at this dealership and test drove only one car. We had an appointment but the car we wanted was not ready. The sales person Michael while courteous and patient, was not very knowledgeable in terms of the selection of available vehicles on the lot. To be honest, it's not his fault. They have their vehicles listed in a paper binder (not on a computer???) Michael tried to keep me engaged but I began losing my patience when the sales manager dragged his feet. The sales manager Howard, was discourteous, impatient, and dismissive. At no point did he take my business seriously. 2 hours at the dealership, and 5 minutes before I left I got 1 number for the car we were looking at. 2 hours should be buying the car including negotiation. Not waiting for the sales manager to look up stock and numbers. And what's worse, the prices they offer are awful. They have brand new 2012 vehicles (NEW) while 2014s are being delivered. They wouldn't move on the 2012 at all. A new car, 2 years old, and they won't bring down the price. They not only lost a sale, they lost a customer. Stay away. Worst experience I've had a dealership. As a single woman, my experience working with Max and Mike has been delightful. Prior to visiting Global Auto Mall, I had visited other dealerships. Unlike those others, Global Auto Mall, specifically Ma Mike has been delightful. Prior to visiting Global Auto Mall, I had visited other dealerships. Unlike those others, Global Auto Mall, specifically Max and Mike, showed genuine interest, unbiased conduct and professionalism. Their treatment of me from beginning to end was a positive experience. Over the years I have purchased quite a few vehicles, and must admit it was always a task I wish I did not have to take on. My recent purchase at Global Auto Mall in North Plainfield, NJ has been exceptional must admit it was always a task I wish I did not have to take on. My recent purchase at Global Auto Mall in North Plainfield, NJ has been exceptional. I found this dealership through the Costo Auto Purchase Program, and after visiting a few other dealerships that participate in this program I was surprised to finally had the pleasure to be treated as a valued potential customer. Max (Maximo Pena) was the sales associate guiding me through the various options I was considering, and was most helpful to guide me through the decision process as to which vehicle would satisfy what I needed in my new car as well as my wants. My biggest concern once I knew which car I wanted, was that I had two vehicles to trade in. Was not a problem, not at all. I left with a new car I am very happy with. When it came to the numbers, I appreciated the respectful offer and no non-sense 'negotiating'. Max is very professional, knowledgeable and oh so helpful. If you are in the market to purchase a vehicle, new or used, make sure you talk to Max! I will be buying my next car from Max again, no question. PS: that whole sing and dance act at any other dealership I endured in the past regarding price did not take place here. Max knew how much he could do for me, so the transaction took very little time once I decided on the individual vehicle I wanted. More
I went to this dealership looking for a specific car. Originally I thought it was new, then found out before I got there that it was a demo. I met Alan Davis who I exchanged e-mails with (he handles internet sales) and he passed me off to the salesman (I think his name was Chris, I'm bad with names but he had a tatoo that is pretty noticeable so you can identify him like that). The salesman found the car for me and it must not have been tested in a while (2012 leftover) because the battery was dead. The salesman did a great job by answering my questions and not treating me like an idiot (I was at another dealership where a salesman actually told me I couldn't leave at one point). Anyway, we took a test drive and I didn't notice anything wrong with the car though the 5,434 miles on it made me understandably nervous. Despite my worry, I decided to talk numbers and considered myself ready to buy on the spot if I liked the deal, but I had to really like it if I was going to buy this demo. I sat down and the salesman printed the invoice but I had one directly from GM Family First that included all the current discounts so he took that over to the manager to determine what the discount for the miles would be. The manager and I did not see eye to eye on the discount that should be paid on a demo. After extensive online research I determined a good (and fair deal in my eyes) would be $1 off per mile while the manger was only willing to do 10 cents off per mile. We were so far apart there was no real point to negotiating. He offered me other options but since the dealership was far from my home I said it didn't make sense when I could go somewhere closer to me. Final Analysis: Zero pressure from the salesperson and manager. Everything was done out in the open, not in some backroom. No one made me sit around and wait, no lies or incorrect answers from anyone I met with. Like I said, we just had a fundamental difference on how we value demo cars. They see them as new cars and I see them as rental cars. I should have asked which car on the lot they were willing to rent to me for 10 cents per mile but I didn't think of it. The manager even apologized for "wasting my time" but I honestly didn't see it like that though I appreciated the sentiment. I figure if this helps someone find a good dealer than the time will have been worth it. More
Everyone from sales to service were very helpful. Never felt like I was being pressured into purchasing something I did not want. Upon contacting Global, I was treated with respect, courtesy and more importantly, got the price I discussed during my visit and subsequent follow-up phon contacting Global, I was treated with respect, courtesy and more importantly, got the price I discussed during my visit and subsequent follow-up phone calls.
