Wasted my time -- Poor Service and Sales Departments If I had $5 for every hour of my life utterly wasted by the Service Dept. at Gilchrist, I could buy a nice vacation home... Due to mistakes and omiss If I had $5 for every hour of my life utterly wasted by the Service Dept. at Gilchrist, I could buy a nice vacation home... Due to mistakes and omissions made, I had my GM vehicle in the shop 2 to 3 times per-month over the course of about 2 years. The Service Manager's job apparently was to advise me that (no matter what defect or deficiency developed in my vehicle) -- that this new defect was actually "normal", and within GM's specifications. It took 10 -- yes TEN visits to service (a letter from me to GM) to get just ONE single electrical problem fixed. I almost lost my JOB due to attendance issues caused solely by Gilchrist's Service Department's (either inability or unwillingness) to identify and remedy problems with my car. You'd think I'd have learned from this experience, but when it came time to buy a new car, I graciously and stupidly gave Gilchrist a "second" chance. Despite the fact that I'd driven to the showroom on a torrential-downpour day (this was my 4th visit; so obviously I was interested in buying a vehicle) -- the Sales Manager cut me off in the middle of my inquiry and said, "I'd love to help you but I have some important things to do...". I then watched him go into an open-area office and start shooting the breeze with another sales person. Evidently, a live body in the showroom doesn't matter much. This offended me to the point that I left the dealership and (thankfully) found a VERY reputable, honest and motivated dealership in Sumner, WA. -- They tried to requisition (dealer trade) the vehicle from Gilchrist (who LIED and said it was sold). NOTE: That "sold" vehicle was still sitting on the showroom floor 3 days ago (a month after they said it was gone). My Salesperson at Gilchrist SAW me drive off the lot; he has not so much as called to inquire about the transaction (and he has my cell#). So, I bought my new GM vehicle from another dealer and am VERY pleased with the car and the other dealership. I am so thankful that I did not get tangled any further with Gilchrist -- although they are the closest dealer to my home, I count it nothing to drive twice the distance to Sumner and receive actual, professional customer service. I recommend you avoid Gilchrist's dealership unless you really enjoy having your time wasted, endless hassles and aggravation. More

I was always well informed by the sales staff, especially Nick Gilchrist. They gave me a fair price for my trade in and the lease worked out to be a great deal. I love the car and it works great for me and my family. More
Shady dealership I travelled up from the Portland area to look at a used car I had been talking to the online sales manager about for a week or so. Asked a ton of ques I travelled up from the Portland area to look at a used car I had been talking to the online sales manager about for a week or so. Asked a ton of questions about the car (it was very fairly priced) I was told it was in great condition, non smoking and had nothing wrong with it. Upon arriving in Tacoma I looked over the car and noticed the rear bumper not clipped into the body clips, like it had been hit or backed into something. When I opened the car an overwhelming stale/wet smoke smell came billowing out of the car. It was awful. The driver side floor from front to back was soaking wet. Questioning Abe, the sales guy that got assigned to me, he sat and lied through his teeth about the car. When I called him out on what he was saying, he couldn't back up and contradict himself fast enough. Needless to say, I left without the car. Worst service I've ever experienced, do NOT buy a used car from these people, they will not disclose what's going on with the car and try to cover up any and all issues the car has. More
Nick Gilchrist worst general sales manager; unprofessional Purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox. Worst experience of the whole process was dealing with Nick Gilchrist. I figure he kept back $1,500.00-$2,200.00 fro Purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox. Worst experience of the whole process was dealing with Nick Gilchrist. I figure he kept back $1,500.00-$2,200.00 from the deal once he was involved. Spent over 4 hours in store. Minni & Paul did an excellent job & saved the deal. As far as Nick Gilchrist goes: he should look into some other type of work not involving customer service. More

Working with David Shubladze was a pleasure! I wanted to buy a Buick Enclave. I had shopped 3 dealers and the price at Gilchrist was the best by $1500 so it was a no brainer to buy it there. When I went to buy a Buick Enclave. I had shopped 3 dealers and the price at Gilchrist was the best by $1500 so it was a no brainer to buy it there. When I went to Gilchrist, I expected to meet an inexperienced or unethical salesmen like so many are, but David had been there selling cars for 16 years and he was very straightforward. Not even once in the purchasing did I feel I was being taken advantage of. Even Tom in the finance department didn't try to upsell me extra products. Once Tom got a toner cartridge, the deal was quick and fair. I highly recommend Gilchrist and I would call and ask for David because he will absolutely take great care of you. Thanks again, David, it was refreshing working with you! More
This dealership does not care about its customers nor does it know how to service vehicles. I came in to get a key FOB programmed. The guy at the counter was rude AND he did not tell me that BOTH key FOB does it know how to service vehicles. I came in to get a key FOB programmed. The guy at the counter was rude AND he did not tell me that BOTH key FOB's have to be programmed at the same time. Because only didn't work, that's what I gave them. I waited an 1 1/2 hours for a service that takes 5 minutes and I had a 10:00 appointment. I paid the $100 for the programming and a fuse (I will get into that later). WAY OVERPRICED! And, when they programmed the one FOB, it erased the programming in the other one. So, I had to make another trip to both reprogrammed again. Now on to the fuse... For some reason the FOB would not open the trunk. I checked the fuses and thought I saw that they were all fine. So, I had the dealer check it. It turned out to be a fuse. no biggie I missed it. I'll pay the fee. I asked which fuse it was because i didn't want to pay another $67 for a fuse. The guy behind the counter gets all huffy and starts to tell me that they had to run a diagnostic. I said, "Yeah, I know, you hook up a Scantech II and it tells you what is wrong." Well he get even more defensive and states that it doesn't tell you that it's the fuse only that there is a break in the current. DUH! So my next question is, "Why the hell am I paying for a diagnostic?!!!" Lastly, and most importantly this dealership does not care about its customers. In the 1 1/2 hours that I was there I met a Vietnam vet (UH-1 crew chief, and a lady that give music lessons. The lady was there to get an oil change and was told that she would need a new serpentine belt and a tranny flush. Her bill according to the Gilchrist employee went from $50 to $700. Now I know that an old lady giving music lessons doesn't make a lot of money and she was really disturbed by this. So I called Lakewood Transmission and got a quote for $169 for her vehicle. Hmm... Just makes you think doesn't it? DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER FOR SERVICE. They will clean you out. More
