I had some very complex and troubling mechanical issues with my 2015 Legacy Limited. They not only addressed each issue, but went above and beyond to make sure I was cared for. Discussed several vehicles with “internet sales”. Made an appointment, the internet sales person is only that. I had the pleasure to work with Lori on my new Suburu Crosstrek after a few hiccups. She took excellent car of me and my needs on my vehicle. On Friday 06/09/23 my husband dropped his Subaru off for an oil change. He paid for the oil change and left to drive home and noticed the air conditioner was no longer blowing out cold air and it was makin an oil change. We took our car back to Subaru that same day and told them about the issue, they said they would take a look. We come back to pick it up and they claim it just needed Freon. We leave the dealership and drive the vehicle for another 30 mins to go pick up our kids from daycare and the air conditioner still isn’t blowing out cold air and still making a weird sound. We take it back to the dealership for a third time in one day!! My husband states maybe he didn’t explain the issue to the person at the desk who’s name is Emma in the maintenance area. But Kirk states “no I heard you, I just don’t think it was relayed to the technicians the right way”. My husband explains the issues once again and the service team claim they will take another look and in the meantime sent us home with a loaner. We have called and called to ask for an update and no one has returned our call! Yesterday, we decided to drive up there to ask what’s going on, no one has contacted us and no one had returned our voicemails! Kody, who is the service director basically insinuates that we are asking for free work and that they can’t just eat the cost and that they can work with us to meet us in the middle. First of all. The audacity to imply we are asking for free work blows my mind. My husband was a faithful customer for years before we moved to New Albany. While living in New Albany we went to Byers Subaru and never had any of these issues. We recently moved back to this area and decided to go back to Germain Subaru, which was a huge mistake on our end. Then to state you will meet us in the middle and not charge for the labor? Why should we have to meet in the middle because of your screw up? Our air conditioner was working perfectly fine before dropping it off for the oil change. Now they are saying the entire air conditioner needs to be replaced and it will be $1600! Absolutely Not!! I don’t know what game this is but I also understand how this works. So the story is our air conditioner just coincidentally stopped working at the same time the car was getting serviced? That doesn’t make sense. If our air conditioner was broken it would have been repaired way before now, considering the fact we have 9 month old twins. I will not be recommending this place to any of our friends or family. We will be returning back to Byers Subaru location in the future for our service. Im really hoping this issue doesn’t have to go to a small claims court but I refuse to walk away from this. Just the overall experience has been so disappointing. Today is now Thursday yet no one has called us. We just want our car back the way we dropped it off with a working air conditioner. We are not asking for anything extra, just fair and honest treatment. More
