I just spent three and a half hours at this dealership simply trying to buy my car off the lease for cash. Their procedures left me so angry I was shaking as I finally wrote the check. Apparently paying off through Mazda Finance is not possible. They gave me a payoff amount and told me the dealer would contact me within two days. That was Monday. Today is Friday and I never heard from them. The first person I saw today was the finance manager, and when I explained why I was there his first words were, "That's wrong. I don't know why anyone told you that." It only got worse from there. Their requirements for a cash payoff were far beyond reasonable, especially the lease application and credit check for accepting a check. They won't hold paperwork till the check clears for the vehicle that I already have and for which there was never a late payment in 3 years. They told me it would only be a soft credit inquiry that would not affect my credit score. Within minutes I received a notification of a hard inquiry being made by Germain Mazda. I ended up buying the 2 vehicles I leased through them in part because the salesman I originally leased through steered me so wrong with misinformation on new leases that buying these was easier. I don't know why I would ever want to do business with them again. UPDATE: After all that went on here Friday with trying to payoff the lease, they had prepared a new temporary tag since the title has changed. They went to put the new tag on and realized that they put the new registration through on my other car. I'm not sure that anyone here knows what they're doing. Note that everything I've said does not refer to the service department. They have been great for the 3 years I've had these care. It's the sales and financing side that's been a total nightmare.
