The issues came up when it was time to talk numbers on the car. If there's a manual on games that dealerships play, the sales manager at Germain wrote it. Rather than having the sales manager come out to speak with me, Greg ran back and forth from his desk to the sales office four times. I had to ask Greg to have the sales manager come out and speak with me face-to-face after he came back from the sales office with numbers that were way off the mark. The sales manager acted as though I was giving him a hard time (although we had not yet spoken with each other) and acted like he was doing a huge favor contacting banks about financing. Sorry buddy, that's your job. He tried to drive up the price any way he could - low-balling my trade, encouraging me to stretch my budget beyond my comfort zone, and encouraging me to extend my loan for an additional year. Additionally, the interest rate they offered through Mazda was not good. The sales manager said it would take three days to process paperwork for another bank, and that I could leave with the car today if I financed through Mazda. Ultimately, they would not come down at all from the sticker price of the car and we could not reach a deal. At that time, I wasn't all that bothered. These types of games come with the territory of buying a used car. But there were two things that did make me annoyed later on: the next week, Germain called to tell me the car was still available if I was still interested. I told them that if they would finance the car through my bank, I would buy it. They tried to discourage me from using my bank, and then said they would call me back in 30 minutes. I never received a return call - just plain rude. And second, I went to another Mazda dealership the following week to look at an almost identical car, except the car that the other dealership had was Mazda Certified and the one at Germain was not. At the second dealership, I had the exact opposite experience as I had at Germain. They offered me an excellent out the door price, and did the financing through my bank without question, resulting in an interest rate that was 1/3 of what Mazda had given me! And guess what - I didn't have to wait 3 days for "paperwork to be completed" before I left with the car. I saved $1,800 over the life of my loan by not buying from Germain. There was no running back and forth from the salesman's desk to the manager, and nobody acted as if they were doing me a huge favor selling me a $25,000 car. The ease of the transaction at the other dealership made me realize how needlessly stressful my experience at Germain had been. More

First timer! I had a great buying experience. I knew that Mazda was the kind of car I was looking for and Terry was extremely helpful. I am a young woman who was s I had a great buying experience. I am a young woman who was set on buying a new car on my own, and never did I feel like I was being taken advantage of. Terry took three hours to take me out on test drives on potential vehicles for me. He showed me everything these vehicles could do and was very patient and kind. He made sure I left with out questions, and if I did think of any, that he was only a call, text, email away (and he meant it!). My buying experience at Germain was fun and professional. There were a few repairs that needed done of my 2014 Mazda3, very minor, but they were insistent that these repairs get done the same week of purchase. The service team was quick and efficient, as well as kind! I love my car and I will send my family and friends to buy from Terry Johnson. More

Damon was great as well, in that, he presented the warranty options but didn't pressure me into getting more coverage than I really needed. The trade-in offer was fair and the financing was as I expected. No need to feel defensive or combative when going through the buying process. More

Tried to work out financing with no cost, planning to pay it right off as the money is sitting in the bank, but was told I had to make payments for 4 months. When I said I was unwilling to do this, I wasn't paying interest when the money was sitting in the bank, they reduced the price of the car. Seemed fair till I saw the $195 origination fee to do the paperwork. After 2 1/2 hours of stressing numerous times, I wasn't willing to pay any additional cost & would easily come back tomorrow, I felt scammed to see this extra $195! Jeremy, the used car manager was the typical slimy guy pushing for the benefit of the dealership with bank kickbacks... Damon saved the day or else I would have walked away. More

Follow through is the mark of an excellent dealership I purchased my 2014 Mazda 3 in May of the same year. The service department and personnel are consistent in how the regard the customer weather on a day of the sale or years after. Recently, I had an issue with my navigation system. It didn't work. It should work, and it should work all the time flawlessly as far as I am concerned, especially when I am paying on it as part of the car. I have zero tolerance for technology that does not work. I downloaded the update three times before I went into Mazda and it took hours. Afterwards, I would get a message, "1 download is available." I gave up, I inserted the SD card and the map came up as it should. Days later the map goes blank, the nav system is useless. I stop by to see Rusty and ask him about it. He juggles what he is doing to look into the matter. He sits down with me and we go into MyMazda.com. Rusty asks me pointed questions about the steps I have taken, then proceeds to download the new update at his desk on his computer. We wait. We have a successful download. I then insert the SD card, the map shows up and everything works. Days later it goes out again. I go into service and they set up an appointment to look into the matter while I have an oil change. Weeks later during my oil service I am told to call a 1-800 number to Tom Tom, but then the number is to Mazda support. The dealership does not have the authority for a fix. I double check with the Sonny, General Manager to make him aware of the ongoing difficulties I have experienced trying to get this fixed. He then talks to service, calls the Mazda support number asks me to pull the car out of the service garage, gets in the car with me while on the phone advocating in my behalf. We had to reset the nav system, and it works just fine. My point here is this is team work and the buck stops with the Sonny, General Manager who will if need be, become personally involved to seek remedy. Now that is follow through. This experience is from a customer who purchased a car years ago. It doesn't get any better than this. I may desire a different brand car at some point, but I will always want this attention to detail and overall support and service. It makes all the sense in the world to me to stay at Germain Mazda.
