I' We were shopping for new cars in the North Aurora auto mall and found this dealership to be a real dud. This was not a positive sales experience. I'm not sure how to describe this without sounding mean spirited. The moment you walk through the door, you recognize the lack of energy. The staff is old and not friendly. Our sales guy was decent, but the rest of the staff did not smile or say "hello" or make you feel welcome in the dealership at all. It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday and 70 degrees - you would think they would be in a positive, up beat mood. The staff sitting around looked as if they did not want to be there. My wife wanted to leave before they pulled a car around for a test drive - all based on the lack of energy and friendliness of the staff and overall dreary atmosphere of this business. If you are looking for a Ford product (which I like) I would not recommend this dealership. More
I called on Saturday to check to see if they has a truck I found on Cars.com which they did still have on the lot. I spoke to Spencer Miller who was very friendly. I told him I would drive the 2.5 hours with my husband Monday morning and buy the truck with cash. I asked him what method of payment would be best. He told me a personal check would be fine. I took receipts with my balances to show there were ample funds in my accounts. I also bought a Ford Flex this week from Currie Ford of Frankfort IL this week and they ran my credit and accepted my check on the spot and did the title work for me. We arrived at 11:30 am to find Spencer and another salesman standing at the door looking bored as there were no customers. We drove the lot and found that the truck we came to buy was being displayed on a riser in the lot. It was raining and the truck was dirty. We were warmly welcomed by Spencer and he had someone get the truck and begin cleaning it. I was not pleased that this had not already been done as they had ample time on Saturday or Monday morning but had done nothing. My Ford Flex from Currie Ford in the same manner and when I arrived the vehicle was completely ready and immaculate. We accepted the price offered as fair, did the paperwork and wrote the check. We were told that when the check cleared they would immediately send the title. I mentioned in the electronic banking system it would clear the next day to which the finance man agreed. We were given a 7 day drive away plate. At Currie Ford they gave me a month drive away intrastate plate and were able to put my plate from my trade in on my car due to the title work that they did for me. We waited and waited. No one spoke to us about the features on the truck we just sat there by ourselves. An hour later the truck was pulled up and we left. The truck was poorly cleaned with dirty places in the interior and exterior. The check cleared the bank Tuesday. Friday came and the title had not arrived. I called and spoke with Sales Manager Cliff Maser. He was rather unconcerned and initially told me there was nothing he could do. I pressed the issue stating the check had cleared and I was did not receive the title as promised. He said he could do some checking and get back to me that day. I called numerous times to reach him again and he never called me back. Saturday I had my husband called and spoke to the receptionist who told my husband that they put a ten day hold on checks before sending out the title. I called and insisted on speaking to someone in charge and was eventually connected to again to Cliff who was still completely unconcerned about our title and that the 7 day plate ran out the next day. After much too much insisting I got him to agree to have me e-mail a copy of the cancelled check to him and then he would overnight the title. He gave an incomplete e-mail address with an odd spelling of carjockey (carjocky) and did not say it was comcast.net so I assumed it was .com thus I had to call multiple times to get the correct address. I wrote that I wanted the tracking number of the overnight delivery. I get a return email stating he will send the title out on Monday. I call and get voice mail once again. I call back and insist that the receptionist get him on the phone and tell him if he does not send it immediately I will be returning the truck Monday. He says he can send it and I get the tracking number via e-mail for the UPS overnight delivery. I would never buy anything from this dealership if it was the only Ford dealer left in the world. I love Fords but I would buy a Yugo if they still made them rather then deal with these bozos again! More
