I bought my car at Center Subaru because they offered the best deal and I drove 1.5 hours for service because they were far more pleasant and available than my local dealer service departments. I’m glad I did! After I made my appointment Liza Wynne sent me text messages to confirm my appointment and also followed up after. My service was on time, quick and easy. Extortionate interest rate This is the 4th car in 8 years we have bought new from Center Subaru. Unfortunately we were in a bind and needed a car immediately. I asked what the interest rate would be and was told 4.99% ( which is high). I was told by one of your staff that we had the highest credit rating he had seen in his few months at the dealership. When we went to sign the paperwork work the rate was 5.49%. I signed off on it because it was the end of the day & went home & contacted AAA to refinance the car. It will be refinanced before the first payment is due. I believe we were charged an exorbitant interest rate because we used ‘Perks at Work’ and received a discount & that they were trying to make it up in the interest rate. And to add insult to injury for the last week my husband and I have been receiving emails about grate financing-anywhere from 0%-3.99%; but a couple of weeks ago 2 people with phenomenal credit were charged 5.49%? In addition I made it clear I wanted a NEW car. I was taken on a test drive and told after it that it was the only car in stock that fit my criteria & had 400+ miles on it from a salesman driving it. I was offered a $300 discount & when I refused and said I would wait for a new car I was given a convoluted explanation on how even a ‘new’ car might have more mileage than I would like because they would have to bring it to Torrington. When we commented that this would not be the case if they put in on a trailer to bring it in I was suddenly offered a $600 discount. As I said I’ve bought several cars from your dealership before and this by far was my worst experience (BTW none of this was the salesperson’s fault; he was great) I feel that the management of your facility deliberately tried to take advantage of our need for car in a timely fashion & wanted to make up the discount they had to give for ‘Perks at Work’ by giving us less of a mileage discount & charging us a higher interest rate. More
