Sales staff made the difference So I was cross shopping both Toyota and Lexus. Now, obviously a Toyota dealer isn't designed to provide the same experience as Lexus does. The desks So I was cross shopping both Toyota and Lexus. Now, obviously a Toyota dealer isn't designed to provide the same experience as Lexus does. The desks are Formica instead of wood grain. The interior lighting is harsh and florescent instead of warm and comfortable. Snacks are in a vending machine in a dark corner instead of a nice little basket in the waiting area. The furniture is ... well worn, to put it nicely. etc. etc. But I really wasn't expecting them to be on par with Lexus; that's not the point. Working with our sales associate, Mercedes, is what really brought the Toyota experience up a notch. She was down to earth and not your stereotypical pushy sales person. Very refreshing. I normally dread dealing with sales staff, but she made it really pleasant! She promptly responded to emails, and her "reminder" email cadence was not annoying at all. I test drove three different models between multiple visits, so I was for sure a higher-maintenance customer. But she was always happy to see me, never put off at all by my, quite frankly, annoying requests. (I'm admittedly fairly picky about stupid stuff...) We ultimately bought a new 4Runner from her, and everything went great. Her personality and professionalism make me confident she'd do well and fit right into a "Lexus-level" customer experience model. We'll undoubtedly be reaching out to her directly for our next purchases. As far as the dealership itself goes, nothing negative, but also nothing to write home about. I did really appreciate their very aggressive pricing strategy. A lot of research consistently put them at a lower price than anyone else I found within a 200 mile radius. More
Everything was good just missed a few things I got into my car after the oil change and noticed that my hood was still propped open. I went out to close it and I noticed that I could not close my I got into my car after the oil change and noticed that my hood was still propped open. I went out to close it and I noticed that I could not close my hood. I opened it up and saw the cap from my coolant reservoir sitting on the metal frame of my car. The reservoir was completely open. They need to check this stuff before they give the car back. This is not the frist time I have had this issue. One time someone left a oil plug wrench on my frame of my car. More

The only thing that I don’t care much for is when the service technicians try to “up sell” customers on products that are not necessarily needed. I would rather the technician show me on my automobile a part that may potentially needing replacement. For example: air filter. More

Maintenance light came on 1500 miles early for service. Als I was greeted by Mike and he told me it would be an hour. When I returned he had sent me to Jacob who I scheduled the appt with on the phone The tech I was greeted by Mike and he told me it would be an hour. When I returned he had sent me to Jacob who I scheduled the appt with on the phone The tech was not able to duplicate the rear end noise but that was ok as they addressed it. Neither Mike nor Jacob had written down my concern about the maintenance required light coming on when it was not yet time to change the oil. It was reset by the person who did my oil change elsewhere and it was off but came on 3500 miles later. They both said that since I had the oil changed elsewhere that the dealer probably did not reset it correctly. Is there More than one way to reset it? They both obviously didn’t care. I guess they just want all oil changes done at Gates which is costly. I finally asked Mike to please show me how it should be reset. It looks like there is only one way to reset it but it just came on too early for some unknown reason. My previous visits have been great, nothing like this one. We trade in our vehicles every 3 years. Might have to check other dealerships next time. More
