Not Impressed I was very disappointed with my service experience at Gary Rome. I had to call to check on the status of the repair evaluation, I received a high pri I was very disappointed with my service experience at Gary Rome. I had to call to check on the status of the repair evaluation, I received a high price quote for repair and to top it off, they never showed up to bring me back to the dealership from my job. The only positive aspect of my experience was the nice gentlemen that brought me to work in the morning. I've heard good things about this dealer so I expected a much better experience than what I received. More

They are not kidding when they say ...it's the best doggone place to buy a car! I enjoy writing reviews for products and services I receive, I believe it truly helps consumers make info ...it's the best doggone place to buy a car! I enjoy writing reviews for products and services I receive, I believe it truly helps consumers make informed decisions when considering purchases large and small. I always read reviews myself to help guide me in the right direction when I'm uncertain about a product or service, it can be a challenge trying to weed out the trolls and the people who are never happy and unreasonable in general and write negative reviews that are not justified and on the opposite end there are very positive reviews written by staff, etc... I usually try to dismiss some on each end of the spectrum that seem suspect and focus on the more detailed reviews that appear legit and honest to me. With that being said I will have to say that my new car purchase at Gary Rome Hyundai was simply the best car buying experience I have ever had and I have purchased/leased many, many new cars in my lifetime. Hate is a strong word I don't use lightly but it's safe to say I hate the car buying experience from start to finish but my experience was completely different at Gary Rome Hyundai. All of the typical tactics car dealers use that are, quite frankly, insulting to most people (not to mention unethical) with an average IQ are not methods they use at GR. I was treated with respect and dignity even though I was not the perfect candidate for financing, who doesn't like that? I won't bash any other local dealerships but huge dealerships where the owners are absent and not involved or overseeing the practices and tactics that the management and sales people are using seems like a recipe for disaster because all that matters is the sale because money is their number priority, not doing what's right and honest for the customer. I don't get that vibe from Gary Rome Hyundai, don't get me wrong, Gary's smart and i'm sure he loves to sell cars and make money but I bet he is not only successful but can sleep well at night. If you're looking for a new or used car I recommend you include GR in your search, great selection of cars and very competitive prices. You won't feel pressured and you wont have to endure all that nonsense most places put you through. If your situation is less than perfect they will have a conversation with you and go above and beyond to help put you in the vehicle you want, not one they want to get off the lot. I have to give a big shout out to Mr. Glenn Call, he's incredible. I wouldn't be driving a new car had it not been for him. This guy will call you on his day off to help you! Super guy. If you're having trouble because of a unique situation I suggest you try to contact him. He won't make any promises but he will not stop trying to get you what you want until all avenues have been exhausted. I dealt mostly with Glenn but officially Larry Goldberg was my sales person, he's also a great guy, even though he used to be a lawyer! Just kidding Larry, we forgive you! LOL! He went over the whole car with my wife and I and introduced us to the General Manager and Service Manager, both nice people as well. Going into the finance office is always pretty stressful because you know they will try to sell you more stuff you "need" like extended warranties, etc...I say look at all your extended warranty options online before your appointment to sign all your paperwork and do some basic math and use good common sense to determine which, if any of them are best for you. If you're prepared ahead of time you can skip that hard sell part in the finance office and politely state your decision. It seems no matter what your decision if you decline everything they can't fathom that you can't see the value in it and you will question your decision if you don't research it ahead of time. When your face to face in a small room you may not be able to use your best judgement. I think extended warranties are great for some people but not others. They are big money makers for dealerships and I think Finance Managers are hard wired to be aggressive and push towards trying to get you into one of the packages. If you really don't think it's for you be prepared to decline about 3 times. And finally I'd like to thank Mr. Gary Rome (and Jack!) for helping me purchase my new car. Great dealership, great staff. On a scale of 1-10, without a doubt a "10". A+ Thanks again Glenn, you have a happy customer for life! More
