I went to dealership to know the price of the vehicle. When I took the appointment, I was told, when I show the COSTCO membership card, dealership would give the Costco member price. Dealership DID NOT gi When I took the appointment, I was told, when I show the COSTCO membership card, dealership would give the Costco member price. Dealership DID NOT give me the COSTCO member price, while I was told they would match the Edmunds price. If the dealer were to say "They would match Edmunds Price", there was no need for me to go to this dealer. Dealer's concern was if I would the Vehicle on that day or not. As a customer I may or may not buy, after knowing the price, as price is a major factor for me. If the dealer does not want to offer me they could have told earlier. Even the Sales supervisor was conveying the message that the Edmunds price is better than the COSTCO member price, which is not correct. So if the dealership sales people are not sure about the price, please DO NOT convey wrong information. More
I called for prices and photos which were NOT on their website. the girl was rude on the phone, I asked to speak to manager, she said no one is available and HUNG up on me. I called back to speak to someo website. the girl was rude on the phone, I asked to speak to manager, she said no one is available and HUNG up on me. I called back to speak to someone else and got an attitude from someone else! I just called another dealer they handled my concerns right away, I went there and bought a car. Funny what professionalism can do! More

I went to Garden state honda over presidents weekend to lease a car. Saturday February 18, 2012. i had an appointment with Jimmy D.who was a very nice gentleman. i told him we had some issues with my credi lease a car. Saturday February 18, 2012. i had an appointment with Jimmy D.who was a very nice gentleman. i told him we had some issues with my credit. they ran the credit and said it was ok (640). we proceeded to work the numbers for the lease, after some back and forth haggling we came up with the price and I agreed. 2012 Honda accord SE Black on Black. Vehicle is in stock but not at this location they will have to prep it and bring it to me from there secaccus location. I said OK. Jimmy D. is still working with us and he is being very nice. everything set I give him my insurance information he is gonna call my insurance company for a binder. ok still all is going well. if we can't can't in touch with insurance company , not to worry they will provide me temp. insurance and of course 20 day temp plates. still all is going well,l i'm agreeing with everything. Wait their is a problem with my credit score, the same one I had when i walked in. seems like Honda has us rated as SELECT but we need PREFERRED status. (I did finance from honda before and paid off a 60 month finance in 32 months with one late payment) so they said it would be no problem to change the status but honda finance is closed so they will have to do it on monday morning. and they will call me about 1030 am to pick up the car. Ok, they will need i $500.00 deposit I did hesitate a little as to why so much but they needed it, but don't worry if the deal don't go through I will get my money back. So I put 500.00 on my credit card. they wrote on my paperwork, Subject to Preferred approval or deposit refunded and gave me a receipt for $500.00. i get a call from Garden state honda(Jimmy D.) February 20 at 3:00 pm The Deal Is DEAD... I say ok What about my deposit he says give me your credit card info and the office with refund the money Great.. thats monday afternoon. I check my statement online tuesday no credit yet, i check my statement wednesday no credit yet. So I call garden state honda they switch me account services Guess what..No one answers the phone i leave a message and no one calls me back. now its thursday still no credit. so i call Jimmy D. and leave a message He calls me back in 10 minutes I tell him whats going on he don't understand and says he will see what the problem is. great Jimmys been good to us all along. later on I call account services. you guessed it no answer so i left a message and still no one called me back. already waiting two days for a return call. So I call my credit Card company and I put it in dispute. Jimmy D. is a asset to this dealership. too bad i can't say the same for the rest. ***AVOID GIVING THEM MONEY***** More
My personal disabilities were met with care. The profesionalism I experienced. The ease of service. There was a real team effort. They stayed after work to test drive the vehicle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER... These guys throw attitude at you if dont end up buying a car with them. I wanted to buy a honda accord and asked for a ride to the showroom which is 5-6 miles from my place. at you if dont end up buying a car with them. I wanted to buy a honda accord and asked for a ride to the showroom which is 5-6 miles from my place. A well behaved river came to pick us up. we sat down to make a deal but somehow the dealer did not agree on the price we wanted and we decided to leave. Dwayne got upset, which is quite understandable and told us to take a cab and go back home, which was totally unacceptable.. me and my wife got mad and decided to leave right away. Dwayn's manager, Eric comes in and never apologized for watever happened... he said he can get us a ride back but we will have to wait 30-45 mins. It was already 9.30pm. Again no one apologized for the rude behavior and we ended up taking a cab. I AM NOT GOING BACK TO THIS DEALER EVEN IF THEY SELL ME THE ACCORD AT THE PRICE OF CIVIC. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER. More
This is the best place to buy a car. Ask for Jimmy D. He is their top salesman and does an amazing job. This place bends over backwards to satisfy their customers. I answered an ad for a 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid that was advertised on Cars.com. I spoke to several people giving them the same information over and over. Finally got to speak to Mr. A. Vargas. Explained advertised on Cars.com. I spoke to several people giving them the same information over and over. Finally got to speak to Mr. A. Vargas. Explained to him that I wanted to purchase said car and trade in my vehicle. He asked me questions about my car, VIN number, original window sticker, etc. I gave him all the information he requested. He was supposed to get back to me several days ago but I have not heard from him. I called the dealership and left him a message; I emailed him and left him several messages; I called his cell phone several times and left him the same message. As of now, he has not had the courtesy to return any of my inquiries. This leads me to believe that the car I wanted really doesn't exist. It is probably a scam to get customers into the dealership. What other explaination can there be? If anyone from Garden State Honda in Clifton, NJ reads this, please have the common courtesy to get back to me with an answer. If you just don't want my trade, say so! Don't be a wuss about it!!! More
Are you kidding me? Let me start off by saying I've done my homework on the CRV for the past 6 months because I've been WAITING for 2012 to come out. I went here in the beginning of the month to get a quot my homework on the CRV for the past 6 months because I've been WAITING for 2012 to come out. I went here in the beginning of the month to get a quote on the CR-V EX-L 2012. Justine - fabulous salesperson, great demeanor, knows her stuff COLD. However, I left because of a manager who sauntered over to us, asked me why I wanted certain modifications (God forbid I try to negotiate a deal on a car I want), and honestly acted unbelievably arrogant. I left, but had second thoughts despite my father and friends asking me to see other dealerships, because I honestly liked Justine, and if anyone's getting a commission for this car, it's going to be her. I even waited the 24 days for them to get the car today. Granted, I went to get the car mid-day Saturday (today), and it was crazy, but after waiting more than 2 hours to see the finance department, and AFTER SIGNING A CONTRACT FOR A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE RATE, and I'm honestly in the car ready to drive off, another salesperson with a knack for words, comes to the side Justine is at, and says, I quote "finance wants to see you again, don't let them drive off with the car." Excuse me? Apparently they "ACCIDENTALLY" gave us a lower rate than they were supposed to, and were now correcting it by calling different banks for the correct amount. That's not really my problem, because honestly we went over it when the woman in the finance department went over the details with me for more than a half hour. For the next 20 minutes, not one manager came to us, despite us asking for the manager, and all I had was the one person, Justine, who had nothing to do with that, deal with my wrath because of the irresponsibility of another person. Anyway, after rectifying the situation by lowering the actual price of the car (1) after threatening to walk out of the deal and 2) giving them the only option we'd deal with), the finance woman asked the manager WHO FINALLY SHOWED UP what to do to for giving us such a hard time, he replied, "Well I can offer you 2 oil changes for free..." What the HELL? I am a damn physician, I don't need your pity oil changes for 50 bucks. Overall: JUSTINE ROCKS...but this place is trying to scam everyone. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SATISFACTION SUCKS. If I didn't need the damn car, or if I didn't like Justine, I would have never came back. Garden State Honda, you're lucky you have her - because with that reputation, you DO NOT deserve her. More
