I went in looking for a new car and was hoping to walk out with one the same day. Although the sales man was really nice in the beginning, I began to feel a lot of pressure shortly after I expressed inter out with one the same day. Although the sales man was really nice in the beginning, I began to feel a lot of pressure shortly after I expressed interest, and it only got worse from there. From a car dealership that claims to be no pressure, this seemed like a bit much. When I told the manager that I was feeling pressured he told me not to "mistake motivation for pressure." A total sleezy sales man. I have been to other dealerships in the state but none made me feel the way this one did... Was really one of the worst car shopping experiences I have had. Even though they did offer me a good deal, I decided not to go with them. Any dealership that treats someone this way does not deserve the business. More

MADE AN INQUIRY OVER INTERNET(TRUECAR.COM) AND GARDEN STATE HONDA CAME TOP 3 DEALERSHIP. THOUGH OTHER 2 HAD INITIAL LOWER PRICES ABOUT $100 OR 2 BUT WHEN I CALLED THEY WERE AGGRESSIVE, SALESY AND MOST OF ALL NOT UP FRONT ABOUT ALL THE COSTS. WHEN I GOT A CALL FROM GARDEN STATE HONDA, THE REP WAS STRAIGHT FORWARD ABOUT FEES AND COURTEOUS. SO I GAVE A VISIT AROUND 5PM AND SAT DOWN WITH A GENTLEMEN NAMED MR. SHIN (OF COURSE WITH MY GUARD AND ALERTNESS WAY-UP) FIRST THING, HE EDUCATED ME WITH BASICS AND KNOWLEDGES. THEN HE GAVE A BRIEF TOUR TO THE STOCK ROOM AND TEST DROVE. THROUGH OUT ENTIRE SESSION, NEVER THREW ANY NUMBER OR PUSH. EVENTUALLY I PICKED UP A BRAND NEW ACCORD LX ON SPOT, SIGNED AND DROVE. THANK YOU GARDEN STATE HONDA. More
Never Trust on Garden State Used car dealer and its manager on site. I had very bad experience of buying mini-van recently. These people sells car to two different people at same time (Gready and ill-l manager on site. I had very bad experience of buying mini-van recently. These people sells car to two different people at same time (Gready and ill-legal act of cheating customer) and makes false promise to come next day for pick up. At pick up time they want to sell other car in place of originally negocitated. These cars will be at higher price to make you fustrate and you are scare because of your deposit made. This dealer will waste your time as well make you fustrate by avoiding and keep waiting. Very fustrating, painfull buying experience at this dealer and I am suprise that HONDA company can't do anything with this dealer. This is place where "There is no room of Trust or Truth". More
I bought got a price quote online through the Consumer Reports/zag program. The dealer disclosed the complete cost of my car before I set foot in their shop and honored its quote. Marylynn in the Internet Reports/zag program. The dealer disclosed the complete cost of my car before I set foot in their shop and honored its quote. Marylynn in the Internet Dept was really great to work with and very responsive to all of my e-mails. Other Honda dealerships I received online quotes from were not very good on the phone or via e-mail. I would not trust a dealer who does not make an effort to create a good first impression by training their internet people. If your first point of contact is uneducated about the car, reading from a script or simply not in a rush to respond, then be wary of continuing. I worked with Lisa on finalizing my sale. It was a great experience all around. She even helped us decide to buy a lower end model than the one we were originally looking for, as we decided the bump up in price was for features that were not all that important to us (e.g. gps). My only complaints about the place would be minor. First, a lot of their cars are a few miles away from the showroom, which means you need to be driven to another lot to get a car to test drive. In addition, I had to wait 2.5 hours for my car to be cleaned, etc. It was a Saturday, which is a busy day. I think these complaints are pretty minor. I did not finance, so I can't speak to that department. There were no high pressure tactics to sell warranties or other things that I didn't want. They got me my plates on time. All in all, I was pretty happy. I felt the pricing on my car could be better, but it was a just released and in high demand model, so my only options were to buy a few dollars over invoice or wait 6 months for the hype to die down. I chose to buy now. More
Let me tell you I was very anxious about going through the process of buying a new car since I was not sure if I would be able to pull off any deals with the little money that I got. But in the end I walk the process of buying a new car since I was not sure if I would be able to pull off any deals with the little money that I got. But in the end I walked out happy with the car that I want, the new 2011 Honda Odyssey. This is due to the charisma, the wisdom, and the professionalism of one guy, the Sales Rep. that I met two months earlier Yong Shin. He is very friendly, patient, and totally dedicated to his profession; he treated me as if I was his only customer for that Thanksgiving Eve afternoon. He took time to explore all possible options with me, and put me at ease. Based on the experience that I had with Yong Shin, I will definitely recommend him to anyone like me who feels petrify dealing with car salesman for one reason or the other. By the way did I forget to mention that he offered me a cup of tea on that cold afternoon…? That was a nice treat. More
