I called Garden State Honda, and said I would come in later in the day that was Saturday July 23, 2011. When I arrived was greed by a salesmen who he was excepting me, per a message from the person later in the day that was Saturday July 23, 2011. When I arrived was greed by a salesmen who he was excepting me, per a message from the person I spoke with. We took the car for a drive and when we returned to the dealer, his comment was so what can we do for you today! I said I wanted to lease a 2011 Accord Special Edition. He said lets see what we can do,after many hours of back and forth we can to an agreement and I drove my new car home without leaving any deposit. I returned to the dealer on Tuesday July 26,2011 with my check for the fees required In closing I would recomened Garden State Honda and Dwayne to anyone looking for a new honda. Michael L. Sales person was very friendly and tried to help me get the best option to buy my lease car already at the end of the term, but his Boss( Manager) didn't agree to give me a good rate to finance my car, he the best option to buy my lease car already at the end of the term, but his Boss( Manager) didn't agree to give me a good rate to finance my car, he state that he was unable to beat the interest rate that I had from other institutions. I left the dealer without a deal but I went to another dealer Planet Honda in route 22 and they were able to work a very good deal to finance my car. I can't recomended this dealer to anyone. More
I was at the dealership from 12:30PM to 4:30PM on Monday, July 12, 2011. I had finally finalized my deal with Salesman Gary Cole and his manager Hamad Matari, and had purchased the 2011 Honda Elemnet with 25 July 12, 2011. I had finally finalized my deal with Salesman Gary Cole and his manager Hamad Matari, and had purchased the 2011 Honda Elemnet with 25 miles on it. I was been sent to meet with the financial manager Elaine Maragh, whom had told me that my credit scores have been dropped because I had gone to too many dealerships, that I shall not check my credit anymore. She told me the bank could only offer me 6.99 as my interest rate, however, the bank is willing to offer me the 4.99 interest rate if I would purchase the following packages: LOJACK $750, GAP $850, and Extended Service Contract for $1895. I had put a downpayment down for $2000, so the balance with these packages included are all financed. The pink slip I got for the GAP lists the American Honda Finance Corp's # as "801-912-9193"; and it was printed. That is not the number. Basiclly it is trying to give me a hardtime to find the bank. The radio that comes with the vehicle does not have a good reception for even the most popular stations such as 103 and 97 and 92 and such. I drive to New York and Atlantic City from Parsippany for hours and it has been like that for the entire trip. It has nothing to do with bad reception in "CERTAIN AREAs"; which the "CERTAIN AREA" is over 2-hour long? I ran my credit scores and they are 748, 768, and 771 on July 16. Being 42 Year-old I could not belive that I have actullay fall for this scam and would see to the best of my ability to get this situation resolved in a civilized manner but yet the dealership must pay a price for scamming its clients. ***** Following Up with the situation, I contacted Debbie the Sales Manager whom insists me going there to "RESIGNING' my contract next Monday which I believe would be totally unnecessary, because all I need is the refund on the unwanted packages and formal apology. As I expressed my concerns that I would never like to set foot in that place ever again, and that I would bring some friends over to meet her next Monday being afraid that what would be happening to me at that dealership. She responds "Why? Are you going to beat me up?"; which I immediately encounter such comment by replying witH "Do not put words into my mouth"; At this time I am really concerned about my own safety and the possibility of being set up for retaliation from the dealership. I am really considering taking this situation to the next level and have legal actions for my own protection. ***** Following Up the situation, I received a call from Tim the General Manager whom seemed to be able to communicate with me on the same wave length, and to be able to helped me out. I met him in person at the dealership again, and he was able to have me signed a new contract without the charges from the GAP and the Extended Service, and offered me a discount for the LOJACK because I believe it is over the market value. He assured me that disciplinary actions are to be taken with the financial manager, and he assured me that Debbie had made her comments in a joking kind of way and really means no harm, and that she is actually a nice person. He also called the service station for another Tim whom he suggested to see when I am taking my car there for my troubled radio. I like the way Tim is handling the situation and he is very mature at his age and really means business in a sincere way. I really wish all the employees there are like him. ***** I went down to the service station which is about 20 minutes away, and had met Tim. They all seem very friendly and nice but at first glance they could nit figure out what was wrong with my radio, and suggested that I took a loner car and et them test drive a few days to locate the trouble since the radio was working fine in the shop. I decided to wait for them to do an initial inspection on that radio, and the service station in Passaic had a nice lounge area with Donuts, coffee, and computers for Web Surfing. Before I could even start to check my email, Tim found me and told me that my car was missing an antenna, that I have sharp hearings for had pin pointed the radio had a problem. They installed the antenna. ***** To finalize the situation, I just found out from the EDMONDS that I should not be charged with $299 documentation fee, and that my registration fee should not have been $399 because that is not how that NJ state is charging us. I wished I had pin pointed this problem but at this time I just wanted this to be an experience and put it behind my head. I am not going to withdraw this review because I had put everything down as true to its originality as I could because there is no hard proof, and for people to see this review and make judgement on themselves. My experience at Garden State Honda was great. I have owned 7 vehicles and went to 7 car different dealerships during my lifetime. This was the most pleasant, relaxed and unpressured experience I have ev owned 7 vehicles and went to 7 car different dealerships during my lifetime. This was the most pleasant, relaxed and unpressured experience I have ever encountered at a dealership. The staff was very friendly and low key. No one appeared as if the very next sale was their last and had to pressure customers into a car purchase. I had my reservations about beginning my search for another vehicle because I am a female and went to the dealership alone. Earl and Ali made my experience worth while and I am definitely a Honda convert now and will probably purchase only from this dealership. I am not being paid to write this and most people only write reviews when they are negative. This dealership and their staff have definitely changed my mind and opinion about car salesmen. More
The price was the best we saw. Dave was very friendly and welcoming and helpful. The process was quick without hitches, EXCEPT we couldn't get either of the blue colors we wanted and had to go with a bo and welcoming and helpful. I was lied to by every person I dealt with at this dealership, except Lonnie - all 8 of them. I don't even remember all of their names! Why you need 8 people involved when I negotiated and practical dealership, except Lonnie - all 8 of them. I don't even remember all of their names! Why you need 8 people involved when I negotiated and practically bought the car over the phone just bewildered me. I called for a Ridgeline and was told it was in stock. Then when I negotiated a price (The Consumer Reports Buying Service Price) and terms, I was told the car was not in stock, but a dealer Demo was, which they tried to get me to come see. Then I was told it was in stock. So I confirmed the price, the 0% financing, and that I would not be charged ANY additional fees except taxes and tags. Lied to again. Finally, after confirming the vehicle was there and thinking I had negotiated everything ahead of time, I spent 4 hours there and even walked out once - all for a car I thought I had bought over the phone, for the most post. I expected to go in sign a few papers and drive away. But they use strong-arm practices and keep moving you from person to person, and desk to desk (I was moved to 5 different desks in two different buildings) I was hit with a higher price by a dishonest manager named Les, who said the person I was dealing with that confirmed the price for me BEFORE I GOT THERE ( I live 2 hours away), that I was told was the finance manager was just a tele-marketer. That turned out to be not true because when I walked out finance manager, Natasha called me back to tell me Les had lied and I should come back and can deal with someone reputable. When I got there, I was told the price would be $190 higher. Then as I was preparing to sign I was told of a $299 documentation fee, which I confirmed earlier I would NOT have to pay. So Natasha lied to me too. The whole experience was a nightmare. If it wasn't that I couldn't get exactly what I wanted somewhere else, I would have gone to California before buying from Garden State Liar's Honda. I got home after midnight. At which time the nightmare was over. More

We recently picked up a 2012 Civic for my daughter and she absolutely loved the entire buying experience. Garden State had to locate the car for her (she wanted a specific color) and they did so in just she absolutely loved the entire buying experience. Garden State had to locate the car for her (she wanted a specific color) and they did so in just a few days. The car came in perfect - we all went over it with a fine tooth comb. It came in with a few dealer installed options and we were not charged for these. We did want body side moulding and they had that overnighted and ready when we picked up the car. The 2012's just came out and coupes are hard to find. Despite the high demand and low supply, Garden State gave us a phenomenal deal that no other dealer could come close to. I kept looking for the hidden catch, but there weren't any. And, throughout the entire process, everyone constantly worked to earn our business. We literally made a deal with a handshake - the old fashioned and honorable way - and all worked out perfect. My daughter loves the car and we will both return to Garden State Honda as well as refer all our friends and family. Tim is the GM and he will make sure you are satisfied. I suggest you ask for him.
