The only reason I'm writing this review is to help other buyers. I walked in originally wanting a 2012 Civic. I figured they'd want to clear their inventory and I'd get a great deal. My friend recommended m buyers. I walked in originally wanting a 2012 Civic. I figured they'd want to clear their inventory and I'd get a great deal. My friend recommended me to someone with whom he always deals (must tell him he shouldn't be giving that guy any business) and of course he handed me off to a salesman. The salesman starts off by telling me that I should get the 2013 because the 2013 has bluetooth, which made me think the 2012 didn't come standard with it. First mistake. I haven't shopped for a new car in a long time so unfortunately I hadn't researched the car (it was an emergency situation I was in and needed a car immediately because my car suddenly broke down on me days earlier). Anyway, he puts me in the 2013 to test drive because he didn't "know" if there were any 2012s there. I knew he was trying to "bait and switch" but I wanted to test drive it anyway. We get to talking numbers and with my stellar credit, he's trying to get me to pay $253/month for 36 months with $1711 in fees and $12K residual. So, at the end of the day, I'd have paid $23K for a Honda Civic. Does that sound like a deal? I'm not against Honda making a profit, but that's not a deal. That's just the regular price. So, I said I wanted to pay $200 a month if I was paying the fees upfront. It was denied. They then came back and said they could match it for $209 a month. Great! FOR A 2012. Not great. So I told him I want a 2013, and he said "Well, you came in here looking for a 2012," and I said yes, but you showed me a 2013 and now I want the 2013. I'm skipping all the wait time we experienced between their conversations with each other off to the side. I was there for 3 hours and walked out because they wouldn't budge. Went to Paul Miller Honda and got the deal I asked for wait for it....$187 a month! For a 2013! While I'm signing the deal at Paul Miller Honda, guess who's calling me? Garden State Honda to tell me they are sorry they made a mistake, the bluetooth comes standard on a 2012. Do they really think I would believe that they forgot such a crucial feature on a car they sold all of last year? Too much dishonesty and too much greediness there. As I said, I don't mind them making money off a deal, but letting a customer walk out is the worst mistake you can make as a salesperson. Always Be Closing! More

If it were not for Maria Castillo, I would still be riding in the Accord that I leased in August, 2012, from Rt. 3 Honda, which I truly hated. I realize that I had made that choice when I leased but riding in the Accord that I leased in August, 2012, from Rt. 3 Honda, which I truly hated. I realize that I had made that choice when I leased but even before I pulled out of the show room. I told them I could not judge the with or length of the car. Yet, they told me to use a pillow, which I did. When I took the test drive Accord out, they had to have used the higher price model with leather seats because the seat was higher and I could see over the hood. So, I went home with the car and CRIED and I mean CRIED. I drove the car for two more weeks, went back again and CRIED. I was told to drive the car for a year and at that time they would be able to do something for me. So, for 5 months I drove the Accord, sat on a pillow, bent and dented the passenger side hub cap because I could not see over the hood of the car and CRIED. Everyone who knows me knew how much I hated the car. It is long and wide. The heat took forever to come on and I always hit the curb when I tried to park. OMG, what a mess. I never drove the car if I had to go out. I was always afraid I would misjudge the width and side swipe another car. When I drove I always used the right hand lane, again I was afraid. BUT THEN, the car needed an oil change. So off I went to Passaic and I FOUND Maria Castillo. I told her my sad story and asked if there were something that I could do. Maria looked at my account and advised me that I stilled owed a large sum of money on the lease but told me that I should love my car not hate it or cried every time I had to drive. So, Maria said " let's go upstairs and talk to the sales manager Rolando". Maria went to Rolando first explained my sad story. Rolando came over, explained the money situation to me. Then, he and Maria walked me over to each car in the show room. I sat in each car, brought the seat height up as far as it could go and told that if I could see. The only car that passed the test was the CRV. At that point Rolando said he would work the numbers. Maria worked very closely with Rolando and she explained every detail to me at length. The final outcome was no surprise to me. I could finance the money still owed on the lease. To make the deal do able I would buy the CRV out right, put more money down and take out a loan for 72 months. I was overwhelmed and frightened about the money I would have to spend. But, again Maria walked me through every detail, again told me I should love my car. I thought about the deal, knew it was more money than I wanted to spend BUT I truly hated the accord so I signed off on the deal. Scared but signed. Maria was wonderful. She was understanding and did not make me feel more dumb than I already felt after leasing a car I could not drive. As a matter of fact the entire team in Passaic was very nice. A total difference that the Rt. 3, Clifton show room. I am now the proud owner of a car that I love. Just like Maria told me. More

I went there to lease a '12 Civic for my daughter and myself. We were satisfied with the deal. We were there to get 2 cars and Tab Batts even provided lunch for us, on him. That was great. My brother was also looking to buy a car after losing his car to Hurricane Sandy. I recommended Garden State Honda and he too drove away with a '13 Civic at a great deal.
