Hi awasserm, We apologize for the mistake in product knowledge. Because of the conflicting stories about what happened to you, it is hard to say how many other mistakes were made. It is our policy to only give a "promised" date to a customer when we know the full details of the vehicle. Like all Subaru dealers, we can use our relationships with other dealers to have access to more inventory. At that point the main differentiation between stores would be price and value. We try to always be competitive on pricing. And we try to add as much value as possible, with our car buying experience and the lifetime warranty. We include a powertrain warranty that has an unlimited term for as long as you own the car. As stated on our website in the below link: http://www.garavelsubaru.com/lifetime-warranty.htm You will see that if you do not live within 45 miles of our dealership you may get your car serviced at any ASE certified repair shop and save the records for when you have a lifetime warranty claim. This webpage has not been edited lately. Though we appreciate it when customers come back for service, we believe that we need to earn their business. Hi dogan, I apologize that it took me so long to respond to your problem. It is common practice for a dealer to arbitrate something on a CarFax Vehicle History Report that may have been misconstrued. CarFaxes are not perfect and can sometimes show minor damage as a major accident, and can also miss large accidents if they are not reported to an insurance company. The average pre-owned vehicle stays on our lot for less than 30 days, so yes, we are trying to encourage people to make decisions sooner-than-later so they can get the car they wanted. I am sorry if Kevin's encouragement seemed like pressure. We work hard to overcome the typical "used car salesman" stigma, but in this case we did not work hard enough. Since you have raised this concern we have had a few internal conversations about improving our approach to treating customers. It is up to us to inspect the cars to ensure they can meet the Subaru Certified Pre-Owned guidelines. Every few months we conduct an audit (as does Subaru) on the inspection checklist to ensure it is being done properly. It is entirely possible that we missed something with this car and I wish you had raised your concerns to our Pre-Owned Manager, Mike so that we could fix them for you. We strive to provide a good customer experience because we care about our reputation and the way we treat customers. Money is always secondary, and an uphappy customer means they will not return to do business with us. I am sorry that you had a poor experience in sales and appreciate your sharing your issues so we can grow internally. This situation is not the first internal issue we have had, but it is not common at our store. The many other reviews posted here (and other customer feedback media) are a testament to our reputation. If you return to us for service, please contact either Paul or Jeremy.
