I have now leased a Mazda and Ford from Galpin, and I have to say I couldn't be happier. My salesman, Andrew Abarca, was absolutely incredible! He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and not pushy in the slightest bit. It's hard to find an auto sales team that you feel like they are not only on your side but also looking out for your best interest and Andrew and Galpin delivered that ten-fold. I have to admit, I like to shop around and Galpin was by far my favorite. After going to Star Mazda, Star Ford, Toyota Hollywood, the Toyota dealership downtown, Glendale Nissan, you name it: no one could come close to not only the service I got but the deal they worked out for me as well as the overall experience. I can't imagine getting a car from anywhere but Galpin at this point, and I am going to be referring everyone to Andrew Abarca. 100% 5 stars for Galpin. More
My wife Christina Sorgi and I put 15k down on a brand new 13 loaded Explorer from Galpin and as it turns out- it is a lemon. Only no one is admitting it is a lemon. The car has serious transmission/ electric 13 loaded Explorer from Galpin and as it turns out- it is a lemon. Only no one is admitting it is a lemon. The car has serious transmission/ electrical defects and my wife has been put in danger with my 3 year old son in the car 3 times now. Ford Motor Company said it does not qualify to be a lemon for whatever reason- the only possible explanation for this is that Galpin cannot find the exact problem! They replaced a faulty valve body and said it should run like a champ only it didn't. We brought it in again and they said they can't duplicate the problem so they cannot work on it and sent us on our merry way. She brought it in again and they found another problem with the transmission/ electrical section but worded it in code on the paperwork as a 'customer concern' and it was corrected only it has NOT been corrected. We have brought it in over 5 times total with them mostly saying that because it is an intermittent problem ( not consistent ) without duplicating the problem on their 'extended road tests' they cannot work on the vehicle. Not only that, my wife was told over the fourth of July to not bring the car in again until she hears back from Ford Motor Company about the lemon law and she needs to quote "put some miles on it" and document when the transmission slips or transitions harshly. We have contacted an attorney who will not charge us and will bill the manufacturer/ dealer for all attorney fees if we win the case but I am currently waiting to see what Galpin Ford is going to say to my wife on Tuesday. The service manager told her he will review her case to see if he can do anything but that until they can duplicate the problem it basically is what it is. He said he 'believes her' but they cannot work on the vehicle so she has to just keep bringing it in when it acts up and hopefully eventually they will duplicate the problem. Meanwhile we are and have been paying over 500$ a month for a car we haven't even been driving. My wife hates driving her car in fear it will slip into neutral again and she'll be stuck in the road and get hit- possibly with my son and 12 year old daughter in the car. Not only has this tainted our trust in the company, but it has been such a horrible experience for us that we feel the need to take this to whatever level is next. These are not just cosmetic issues or satisfaction issues we are talking about. These are actual safety issues that are not being properly addressed or taken seriously. We will see what they say on Tuesday, but I won't be surprised if they tell us there is nothing they can do and just drive the car and say your prayers. More
Jason Moss was terrific. He was very helpful and the deal was made because of him and his persistence. At the end of the day the only sour note I have was that in order to get us the price we were comfortabl was made because of him and his persistence. At the end of the day the only sour note I have was that in order to get us the price we were comfortable paying they withdrew the Low Jack coverage from the car and did not tell us until we were in the finance stage. The finance guy asked if we wanted to add Low Jack which we were under the impression was already on the car. It ended up costing us more than we anticipated or agreed upon because of the Low Jack. I didn't fight it then and there because we had been at the dealership for a long time and it was very late. Thats the only thing that left a sour taste in my mouth. Other than that Jason Moss was terrific and once again the reason why we moved forward with the lease. If dealing with Galpin Ford in Van Nuys/North Hills I would absolutely ask for Jason. More
I am on my third Ford vehicle, and have purchased them all at Galpin, and have taken them all to Galpin for service and warranty work. From our service agent Steve who has always done a great job servicing our vehicles and making sure we are back on the road quickly to his recommendation for us to see Patrick was just the perfect match. My wife and I made an appointment to see Patrick on the 7/12, and Patrick made our experience of purchasing two vehicles easy, and hassle free. My wife who was on crutches when we came in, and Patrick made every effort to make the vehicle selection and paper work effortless for us, and even brought all the vehicles to us to review and look at so my wife did not have to walk around from lot to lot. Regardless of what challenges, or questions that Patrick faced when working with us he always made us feel good and positive about working with Galpin Ford for the purchase of our vehicles. Then once Patrick introduced us to Jim who was very patient and made sure that both my wife and I knew every aspect of the vehicles that we purchased before we took possession of the vehicles and left for the evening. Jim also took the time to drive my wife and I back to our trade in so we could easily clean out our truck. Patrick also gave my wife and a complementary dinner for two which really just made our time even more comfortable. The best part of our visit was the record setting time that Patrick and Jim were able to take care our vehicle trade in, all the paperwork to purchase two vehicles, get them cleaned, and ready for delivery was awesome, especially for my wife who was injured and suffering from back pain. The fact that they both took my wife into consideration with her back pain and made every effort to quickly get us through the process and make her feel very comfortable at the same time was truly out of this world customer service. We have always found Galpin to be easy to work with and a dealership who truely stands behind what they sell. As far as sales personal, I would recommend asking for T.C. (Thomas Carlton) He goes above and beyond to help a buyer find what they want and help them get a good deal! He is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the Ford vehicle product Iine. T.C spent a GREAT deal of time with us on 3 separate occasions as I was trying to decide what I wanted (you know how us women can be, so indecisive!!! :). Lol ). He stayed one evening 3 hours AFTER his work shift technically ended in order to accommodate my schedule and he even came to work with us a third day, on his day off!! He spent a great deal of time going through my cars new features. The vehicle is fully loaded with lots of great technology that we were very unfamiliar with and T.C spent a few hours with us AFTER purchasing the car to make sure we knew how everything worked and how to control all the cool new features! T.C's attentive customer service continues well after the purchase. He is easily reachable and fully accommodating with any questions, concerns, or problems that his customers may have! As far as dealerships go, I have worked with others in the past and there is an obvious reason we have bought the majority of vehicles we have owned from Galpin. Galpin is an honest dealerships, who doesn't play games, lie or deceive their customers. I have been to other dealerships who tried to sneak things past me. My mother and I went to the Galpin ford used sales lot just to brows around. We honestly didn't intend on buying a car from here because we had our eyes on a car at carmax but dad made us take one last lo just to brows around. Right as we walked in Ali greeted us but it wasn't a corny I'm a sales guy let me harass to make a profit type of thing. It was more of, hey guys If you had any questions i can answer them. What was your purpose and needs. We told him we were just looking so we wouldn't get his hopes up but he stuck by us to answer questions while we looked. It didn't feel like i was being thrown at cars. He let my mother and I look around and when ever we had questions he answered them. He was extremely patient with us, let us test drive and showed us options to what we wanted. He was conscious of our budget when he would show us a car. He hooked us up with a toyota yarius that is awesome. We let him know that we weren't purchasing anything that night but just wanted to discuss options. the next day when we came back he had the car washed and cleaned inside and out so we had a better feel for it. All around it was an easy experience. there was no hassle or pressures. We have been apart of the galpin family for years now and I would for sure recommend Ali to any one. He puts himself on our level field and advices us not as a sales man, But as a husband and father himself. The whole process was relaxing. Galpin Ford employees are extremly friendly. heck some guy helped me park because lord knows i suck at parking, he could have easily just sat there and watch me screw up and crash.
