Unplanned Purchase We stopped at Friendly Honda "just to look." We made it clear to the receptionist that we preferred to walk around without being pestered by salesper We stopped at Friendly Honda "just to look." We made it clear to the receptionist that we preferred to walk around without being pestered by salespersons. She readily complied with a smile and a positive attitude -- a much better attitude than we had displayed. The red Honda Fit Sport caught our attention and pretty much sold itself. When we decided we "had to have it" we went back to the receptionist and told her we were ready to talk to a salesperson. She introduced us to Justin. He proved to be the best salesperson we ever dealt with. Easygoing personality, no pressure to sell us anything we did not want, very respectful, well versed in the vehicle, obviously very knowledgeable, effective, and efficient in the entire process of trading in one vehicle for another. Justin made the most of both his time and our time. I had previously used Internet resources to estimate the Blue Book value of our six year old Honda Civic toward a trade-in. We received an amount that was very close to the estimate I had arrived at. Justin then introduced us to Paul who took us through the financial portion of the transaction. We expressed a preference for the manner in which we wanted to pay for the car. Paul gently advised us of other options, along with their advantages and interest rates. We maintained that we wanted to do it *our* way via the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and from that point on, Paul focused on setting us up right there, saving us a trip to the HVFCU. The speed and thoroughness of this part of the transaction was quite impressive also. In summary, we walked into Friendly Honda at 3:30 p.m,, wandered around without a "shadow" as we had requested, fell in love with our choice of vehicle, completed the entire purchase transaction by 5:20 p.m, and returned at 1:00 p.m. the next day to pick up our new Honda Fit. Clearly, an experience that speaks for itself and would be hard to beat. More
