Buyer Beware: Scam Artists Pros: - The salesman I dealt with by the name of Toor was very helpful, polite and considerate. He wasn't the typical pushy car salesperson. He was Pros: - The salesman I dealt with by the name of Toor was very helpful, polite and considerate. He wasn't the typical pushy car salesperson. He was a pleasure to work with. - The Sales Manager John was also helpful and polite, although his expectations of what he could get done were a little unrealistic, but I believe he did this unintentionally, so I hold no ill will towards him. - Denzo Munoz was by far the nicest person at the dealership and was very sympathetic of my situation and did everything he could to help me, but being the middle man, there wasn't anything he could do other than pass my message along. Cons: - The entire finance department and this is where it gets ugly and why I am writing this review. In short, starting with the Finance Manager by the name of Naqib, they are liars, thieves, deceitful, scam artists, greed driven unethical people that lack integrity. I don't use those terms lightly and it takes a lot to get me upset. More on that below. It should be noted that I am a Director of Sales with a staff of approximately 80 employees, so I know what ethics and integrity are all about. I can smell BS from a mile away. Here is what happened. While I was signing the contract, they had told me the loan was not "officially" approved and due to my credit being so-so, it may be a challenge to get me financed. At that time I said let's just hold off on turning the vehicle over to me because I am well aware of the scam that some dealerships use to get you to take the vehicle and then have you come back at a later date to put more money down, increased APR and other little games they play. That would not work on me and they said it wouldn't happen. So, this is where it gets interesting and unethical and is also when I turned on the audio recorder of my phone to record the conversation. This Finance Manager told me if I don't buy the extended warranty as well as Gap Insurance, he and his Finance Director would not try hard to get me financed and that it would more than likely fall through and I would have to return the vehicle. I then told him this is how he makes his money via commission and to my surprise, he said yes and I actually admired his being candid. However, I told him I did not want it and he said then they won't be able to get me financed. I did want the vehicle, so I said add it in anyway. That was my fault for caving to the pressure. He said selling those is how he feeds his family and if I didn't purchase it, I would be hurting his family. The fact that he told me the dealership won't "fight for me to get financed" unless I buy the warranty is beyond unethical. They should try hard for everyone that comes into the dealership. If they couldn't get me financed, they should not have released the vehicle to me. Once I got home with the vehicle, I instantly regretted caving to his unethical pressure and called them back to have it removed and that is when the ignoring me started. I logged all activity from that point forward and I made 19 phone calls, 3 trips to the dealership which is nowhere near where I live, so it was a hardship on me. I finally spoke with a polite gentleman by the name of Jason and he said my vehicle was still not financed. I told him I wanted to have the warranty removed which by the way was $2,500 plus interest over 75 months for a total of $4,500 ($60 increase of payment over 75 months), so that is a huge amount of money in addition to the Gap Insurance at $600 plus interest. I kept calling and left this Naqib guy several voice mails saying I did not want the warranty and when I finally spoke with him, he said they would remove it and I would sign a new contract before the deal was finalized with Toyota Financial Services. This was also recorded via my cell phone. I also told another Finance Manager that I wanted to have it removed and he also told me they were going to have to have $4,500 more of a down payment to get the vehicle financed and I of course said no because I saw that scam coming. He said they were going to have to have me sign a new contract and that is when they would have me sign the agreement and take out the warranty and Gap Insurance. After 2 weeks of all of this nonsense, I finally receive a call from Naqib who had been ignoring me for the previous 10 days because he said his voice mail was broken and he couldn't get into it to listen to my messages. Yeah, okay and I have a bridge to an island to sell you in Arizona. He then told me the vehicle is financed and that no new contract needs to be signed. This was done over my voice mail, so the next morning I went to the dealership and told them I was lied to, I was ignored and I was deceived and was told I would be able to sign a new contract so that my monthly payment would go down and the warranty removed. This is when the Finance Director became involved via a third party and I was told it was too late to do so and that if I canceled it, my payment wouldn't go down, that it would be taken off the principal and I would have a couple months at the end of the 75 month term that I wouldn't have to pay. How ridiculous is that for an option? Due to them ignoring me and lying to me, I am now stuck to pay an extra $4,500 that I immediately said I did not want. I was scammed. No matter what I said regarding being ignored, being told they would remove the warranty worked. I even told her to check Naqib's "broken" voice mail and she would hear all of my messages, but she did nothing. I really wish I had this persons name so I could use it when I file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau. I left there extremely upset, so I called Toyota Financial Services, Toyota customer experience hotline and anyone else I could find online. Nobody would do anything for me because the "Deal was already funded." I then received a call from a very nice woman from Fremont Toyota as part of their customer service team and she asked me the story which I told her. I told her I would accept some type of credit from their parts department as compensation due to me having to pay $4,500 extra for the vehicle. She said she would talk to this wonderful (Sarcasm) Finance Director and see what she was willing to do and that she would call me the next day with her decision. She did call back as she said she would and I was told they weren't willing to do anything, so I said I would be taking this up the ladder until something was done. She asked me not to do that yet and that she would try again and call me by the end of the business day. That was a week ago today and I have not heard back, hence this review. So, now I am taking this to the Better Business Bureau, State Attorney General and every local television station as well as leaving reviews on all the dealership reviews I can find including DealerRater.com. Edmunds.com, Cars.com and Edmunds.com. When I am wronged and in my opinion stolen from and taking food out my families’ mouth, I don't and won't go away easily. This could have been avoided by doing what they said they would do, not lying, not leading me on and delaying until the vehicle was financed and not being greedy and treating me the way they would treat their own family members. I even gave them an out by suggesting giving me credit in their parts department which based on greed, that didn't work either. If any of my employees treated a client or potential client the way they did me, I would terminate them on the spot without hesitation. Take my advice and record / log everything if you feel you are being wronged. Sadly, I probably won't be able to use the audio recordings in civil court because I didn't inform them they were being recorded, but I am certain the BBB and Attorney General will be able to do something as my attorney has suggested and the public needs to know about my experience. I have purchased several vehicles in my lifetime and have never been treated this poorly and I can assure you, I will be telling everyone I come across to not go there. In fact, I already had a friend that wanted to purchase a Toyota and I made sure he didn't go there and bought a vehicle from Dublin Toyota instead and was treated very well. I hope this review is able to help at least one person from going through what I am going through. Nobody deserves to deal with the stress I have dealt with when simply buying a new vehicle which is supposed to be a pleasant and exciting experience. If anyone reading this has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. More
air bag diagnostic I got into an accident and the air bag light came on as a result. Insurance said I had to prove its because of the accident. Well let see it came on r I got into an accident and the air bag light came on as a result. Insurance said I had to prove its because of the accident. Well let see it came on right after the accident so if it quacks it must of a duck. No just because I have never had a diagnostic of my car to compare too and the car they just service had the same problem. They told me its due to wear and tear and not from the car that ram into me. That was it no discussing all they care was I never got a diagnostic there and they did their lame job, end of discussion. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED A DIAGNOSTIC!!! And don't by Toyota Camry there is alot of complaints online about air bag suddenly lighting up. Check the reviews before you buy a camry, something i will NEVER do again. More
Get serviced here and get punctured for free!! The guys here will poke your car tire and get some business to fix the tire or try to sell new tires by justifying it can't be fixed. Even when you have a service appointment, you don’t. I needed 150,000-mile service and was rather surprised when I called in on Friday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the next day. I gla I needed 150,000-mile service and was rather surprised when I called in on Friday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the next day. I gladly took them up on their offer and was given an appointment time. I was asked my name, what I needed to have done and was told to just show up at my appointment time. I showed up about 5-minutes before my appointment and was rather surprised to see a huge line. About 30 minutes go by and I was finally given a number for a representative to talk me about what I needed, at that time I was number 29 but I had an appointment and that did not include the people who just showed up nor the people who just filled out a form and left keys in the car before leaving. At the 50-minute mark I was finally approached by my new found friend the service representative, who proceed to get the info about my car and ask what service I needed, never mind I had already given all of this info to the person the day before. I explained what I needed again and then the upsell started. When I told him ALL I needed was the 150,000-mile service and did not need anything else. I think he apologized 6-times for being late and the process talking so long but I had an appointment (you could tell this was well rehearsed and said often). From start to finish the drop off of my car took an just a little over an hour, but I had an appointment. If I did this to one of my customers, I would be immediately fired - it just sad that in this day and age there is no more customer service and it has become the norm and accepted, but I had an appointment. I wish I could say this was my first bad experience with Fremont Toyota, but it is not and I should have learned from the first time to NEVER come back. More
Very bad sales experience I would give 0 stars if I could Dishonest, too pushy, not clear, try to trick you. Not clear about fees and lie about it I walked to this deale I would give 0 stars if I could Dishonest, too pushy, not clear, try to trick you. Not clear about fees and lie about it I walked to this dealership to look for a RAV4 with some specific options. I found what I was looking for. I asked them if I can get the same price offered by another dealer since they have the color that I'm looking for, same exact car and options as the other dealership overall, they did not explain for me the breakdown of fees. they told me that it's normal to have $2500 financing fees for 0% APR deal. They lied about checking the other car's specifications and informed me that it does not have navigation "but it did" and charged me $545 dollars extra for navigation. Worse part is after they give me the final price with all fees, they informed me that it was done for another car and they need to charge me $2000 extra for the car I want because the sales man did a small mistake I felt like the whole process is a bid spam, I called the other dealership to ask about the financing charges and navigation. they informed me nothing is financing charges if it's 0% APR and confirmed that the car has a full navigation system. when i told them I don't feel i was treated with respect and honestly and don't want to continue with this purchase. the salesman got so angry and start shouting at me. I never had such a bad experience in my life like this one ... never expected it from Toyota More
Dishonest and Unprofessional The service department is always trying to upsell garbage services and not address actual problems that should have been covered under the warranty. We were lucky that we got to try the cars with possibly the nicest sale agent around, ALI. He was an absolute gentleman who was straightforward with us from the get go and we thought we might give him some business soon enough for his genuine behavior towards us. I should add that the guy had a terrible headache which you could see on his face and yet not for a second was he not attentive. Then came in his manager, AJ MOHABAT. A complete uncivilized xxxxxxxxx, who does exactly what you think sleazy salesmen do, treat you like you eat xxxx. From the beginning we knew he was a jerk when he kept going over questions to which he already had answers to. He never introduced himself nor asked our names. He came in like a savior and acted like we were begging for him to allow us to buy a car though actually he is just a nobody who has no negotiating power. He had to go multiple times to ask his boss as the numbers he kept bringing were pure garbage. This was what he told me when I asked him if Toyota has any loyalty programs for returning customers, "No, Toyota doesn't need loyalty programs as people will buy our cars anyways, there is always a waiting for our cars." He was trying to push a base Camry Hybrid to us for $37K ($32K after $5K trade in for our 2012 car ). When I said that number is too high, he offered a great discount to round it down to $35K. When I asked him if that's their final number, he said "Yes, but only for today. Tomorrow it might change." I told him that was obvious, but can he go down further to which he replied, " we can give you better discounts when you are serious about buying". Lol! At least he was not serious about selling. This guy single-handedly made sure we don't buy a car from here and make sure we inform our friends to avoid this place. Seriously, there is another Toyota dealership 5 min away from here on 880 South. To show how classy he is, when he realized he could not make a deal with us, he abruptly walked away. Best of luck to those who expect to be respected at this dealership. More
