You can't always pay what you want. We had just come off a less than fun or productive experience with a local dealership called Fred Beans and I will mention them here as needed.. This We had just come off a less than fun or productive experience with a local dealership called Fred Beans and I will mention them here as needed.. This place is called , ACTION HYUNDAI a dealer in Flemington, NJ. We had been in an accident that totaled our car ( someone ran a stop sign at 40mph and we hit them.) and it had been a month of no driving so we chose to stop here as we had seen a Scion online. Having been burned by the aforementioned Bean's we made sure that the car we sought was indeed on Action's turf and not just a figment of their imaginations. We got picked up 10 minutes late by a barely speaking young man and the ride to say the least was awkward at best and creepy at best. When we arrived, the driver pointed to our right and said that is the way in. We were greeted by a young man and the customer service lady and were asked to go inside but we chose to stay out. Once the dealer gets you inside nothing good will ever happen. Then in the absence of the first salesman another guy shows up and acts like he never saw the first guy. Bizarre! So the first guy shows up and we finally get things underway after this sales guy tells the other sales guy that he was there first. Confusing? Yes. OK. The next thing that happens is the sales guy had to go find the key for the Scion we had seen online. The car shows up and we are asked to test drive it. We do so and the car seems to be one we would feel good buying. We then began to wait for the sales guy and his minions to get the car detailed. While we were waiting another sales guy starts to show our newly bought car to a prospective consumer. It just can't be made up folks this is all true. Our sales guy to be fair was pretty nice and attentive but the best part was yet (after 6 hours) to come. Mind you we had a cash deal and that caused quite a stir as there was no financing for these peeps to look forward to. That was when the 'creative' monetary talk began. Well, with this and that and the dealer prep blah blah a blah it'll be this number which is far and away what you said you could afford. We were Ok with that it's what happens in a dealership, but the next step was downright well deceitful. We were then told that we had to pay a re-conditioning fee of 1500 dollars. So on top of all the aforementioned noise we now owed an additional 1500?! Stultifying! So, I said that wasn't gonna fly as we don't like to hear of these things as we are about to sign papers. So, the new fee for basically what should have been at the most 3 -500 dollars of 'work' was now 1000. Just the xxxxx of justifying these practices. Lots of profuse apologizing and passing the blame but nonetheless 1000. The guy who is in charge of finances was a jerk to be honest. He made fun of my fiancee as he asked for a 'charge plate' and not a charge card and then when asked what that was said ' Know what a charge card is?!' Now for the next surprise. It is now ready the car that is, and we were stepping out into the rain with an umbrella and the sales guy in tow. It was then that he proudly took our picture as he does with all his prey and handed us the final insult. One friggin key. Yes one. Synopsis. Be careful when you go to any dealership. Homework? Do it. It will be worth it. Fred Beans likes a nice bait and switch in which they post a fantasy car ( one which does not actually exist) just to get you in there to the dealership hoping to up sell you a far more expensive car, or down sell you so they can unload their crap on you. Hey Thanks! Always the thoughts of financing dancing in their heads. They at Beans think nothing of BSing you and keeeeping you waiting for hours as they jump around planning their next move. Managers and all kinds of people drift in and out like the sea letting you know they have their eye on you and your best interest at heart. Really? This experience left us hating this excuse of a dealership and I would recommend if you have one scintilla of a desire to not kill someone do not go to Beans Toyota or any other of their many dealerships. They are desirous of only one thing, to waste your time and to get your money. They will pressure you to finance finance finance. They knew well before picking us up that the car that they put on their site was a sham. So all the xx kind words false empathy was just a mechanism to get you directly in the cross hairs. A few more things about Action. We made it clear that we didn't want any xx and lo and behold, it was eventually served on a platter. Once we got the car home the hatch would not work and there was a grinding sound when you turned right. Hopefully although they never called back we will be able to get this fixed but you never know. That is what bothers us the most. That humans just can't seem to be real and just can't help themselves and their duplicity. So much better things would be if we could just respect each other and be truthful. Perhaps there is hope but not currently. I now have to go to another dealer for my keys. Like I said,'Bizarre.' I was told they used Kelly Blue Book & they would price my trade @ book value plus 20 percent. I checked KBB website & my trade in was valued between $24-26K.without the 20 percent addition. When I asked what my car was worth on trade in, the answer was $18,500. Obviously something was wrong. Also, the car I was interested in wasn't there. The owner of the dealership was using it. You would think that when they make an appointment for a customer that the car would be there. Upon leaving and starting my car about 3-4 men came running out to talk to me as to what was wrong. I explained the situation to one of them and they offered me $24K for my car. I told them to forget it and I was going home. A complete waste of my time. More

All the work is done right the first time. My recent experience with sales for leasing a new Hyundai Sonata was much more pleasant than what I have experienced in the past from some other dealers. The sales person Matt D worked with us and we felt no high pressure during the whole transaction, he was pleasant to deal with and showed us all the features of the vehicle as well as taking us for a test drive.
