Great buying experience My wife and I were looking for a new or used Hyundai. We were going to be thorough and visit 3 nearby dealerships. One night, we went to Fred Beans My wife and I were looking for a new or used Hyundai. We were going to be thorough and visit 3 nearby dealerships. One night, we went to Fred Beans to just look at their inventory. We worked with Tim Bergey and after looking at some cars, decided to remain there and purchase a used Sonata. Tim provided excellent and knowledgeable service. They had the exact car we were looking for at the price we could afford. They honored their commitment for a free 1st oil change. Everything was very straightforward and pleasant. The best car buying experience we've ever had. More

Friendly? Very friendly, while they're lieing through their teeth to you! Price? Great price, but the car isn't available, though they tell you it is... until you get on the lot! I saw a 2010 Sonata, u their teeth to you! Price? Great price, but the car isn't available, though they tell you it is... until you get on the lot! I saw a 2010 Sonata, under 10k miles, great price. I immediately put a bid on it. Waited a half an hour. Heard nothing. Initiated an online chat with online sales. I was told, at 7 pm, that it was available. They wanted to know when I wanted to buy. Answer: this car, now. They took my info and I said I would be in the next day to test drive. I was immediately bombarded with emails from several sales people. I made it clear that I would be in the next day to test drive THAT car. 9:30 am, sales manager calls. He made reference to an email I sent about being bombarded. That particular email stated my interest to buy THAT car. So, no question that I was interested in buying THAT car only. I drove an hour to get up there. The sales mgr I spoke with was shuffling cars on the lot. I asked a salesman where THAT car was located. It was sold.... the night before.... Is he kidding? I explained that I just spoke with the sales manager a few hours prior, and if it was sold the night before, it was "dirty pool". The salesman quickly corrected himself.. "This morning.. sold this morning". yeah, ok... I guess that works! LOL! He excused himself to check on the car. He came back with, "sold this morning, their credit if questionable.. but if I want to put a deposit on it, I'd be next in line". He wanted a $500 deposit to hold the car. Is he kidding? I had a bid on it. And, It takes a little more than 3 hours (time of opening to time of me standing there) for someone to look at, test drive, negotiate, and fill out paperwork for a car. But, the salesman thought "sold this morning" was actually believable. Is he kidding? I just drove an hour to buy a car that wasn't available. And then I guess I would have to trust that I would get my deposit back in a timely matter? (yes, give your money to people who lie! Great idea!) So, all in all... I put an online bid on a car, thought that I was in negotiations. All sales go through the sales manager. The car sold the night before (Friday), the sales manager knew it, and at 9:30 am Saturday he knew I was coming to buy THAT car... that was ALREADY SOLD. Oh!!! Silly me! They didn't want to tell me because once I was on the lot, they could sell me another car! I've seen their inventory online, and have shopped around for weeks. The inventory is priced high, except for the car I had intentions of buying. The deal was too good to be true! Operative phrase- too good to be true! RUN! Stereotypical car salesmen with despicable ethics and morals. More
I was looking for a good price with no hassle. I received a great price with no hassle. They do try to up-sell you on several things when you pick up the car but it was pretty low key. This was the only deal a great price with no hassle. They do try to up-sell you on several things when you pick up the car but it was pretty low key. This was the only dealer I worked with that would give me real answers by e-mail. Most only gave vague answers followed up with "when can you come in". Tim told me which cars he had (and didn't have) and the bottom line price. More
This is the furthest I've ever traveled to purchase a car and Bruce McFarland is the main reason I returned . Even though I had heard good things about Fred Beans I wasn't sure if they could help me. I can't and Bruce McFarland is the main reason I returned . Even though I had heard good things about Fred Beans I wasn't sure if they could help me. I can't say enough about the great job Bruce did! He went above and beyond to accomodate my schedule, did a phenomenal job on guiding me through the purchase as well as great follow-up after the sale. He even tracked down a missing manual and mailed it out the same-day. I was totally at ease during the purchase which is quite an accomplishment as car buying is one of my least favorite things. I felt very confident driving away in my new Sonata. I don't take the time to write many reviews but Bruce definitely earned this one! More
My daughter was in the market for a new Hyundai Accent. We exchanged emails and phone calls along with a credit approval. We were told my daughters credit was approved but the approval was only good for 4 We exchanged emails and phone calls along with a credit approval. We were told my daughters credit was approved but the approval was only good for 4 days and we had to go in before June 30 to complete the deal. From the moment we arrived to the moment left without a deal we felt belittled and disrespected. When we arrived at the dealership it was pretty empty and there were about 10 salesman walking around. Tim was paged for us but we were never offered somewhere to sit and wait and for 20 minutes we were left standing at the door to just wait. After an hour at the dealership we were told the there were no accents in stock to complete the deal. I failed to mention we had an appointment to go in. Tim said "I have a solution. I can put you in an Elantra for $10.000 more". We told him we needed to think about this and Tim responded. Well to start with you did not tell us you did not have the inventory to complete the deal and your more than happy to upsell us to the Elantra. "While you are thinking others are buying.I have purchased many cars over the last 40 years but never had an unpleasant experience like this. Would not go back or recommend. More
