First Maintenance Issue I took my new 2018 Honda Odyssey in for its first routine 10,000 mile maintenance as noted on the vehicle dashboard message system. The service dept I took my new 2018 Honda Odyssey in for its first routine 10,000 mile maintenance as noted on the vehicle dashboard message system. The service dept rep asked why I didn't briing vehicle in at 5,000 miles. I told them this is the first scheduled maintenance notice. He advised Honda prefers to change oil every 5,000 miles and that if, under my extended maintenance agreement, I have a repair need at some future date, I might be challenged because I failed to change the oil at 5,000 miles. I asked why the vehicle computer failed to notify me of the oil change, and was told it doesn't report all regular service intervals. Following service, when I signed for my vehicle, the man at the service counter mde the same statement..... This really upset me! If the dealership requires maintenance at other intervals than that stated by the vehicle computer, why wasn't that called to my attention in a timely manner. This is the third new Odyssey I have purchased from Frank Brown, I have always had my Hondas serviced there, and I expect more professional support from them, or I would have had my vehicle serviced somewhere more convenient. (As a note: I do not consider this issue to be the fault of salesman Dan Bryant). I wish to add, that considering the considerable cost of the maintenance agreement, Frank Brown had better not ever attempt to deny maintenance coverage because I failed to have my oil changed at 5,000 miles! Not what I expect of Honda 3rd trip to dealership, (after being patted on the head 2x), they finally found the problem. Did not explain problem to me. Just said “We’re replacing 3rd trip to dealership, (after being patted on the head 2x), they finally found the problem. Did not explain problem to me. Just said “We’re replacing the transmission & some electrical parts. We’ll let you know when they are here.” No loaner car available to me while fixing a warrantied issue. Service mgrs explaination was “Each Service Tech has one loaner they can use. His is being used. I don’t agree with this policy.” Turns out the supposedly new(?) transmission doesn’t come with a 60k warranty. It is only warrantied through the car’s 60k miles. (Car is at 31k). I only got this information because I called & asked to speak to a manager. Guess I’ll be selling this car. This is my 3rd Honda. I doubt I’ll buy another one. Very disappointed, after spending $32k. Salespeople are great. All service people are nice. They just don’t live up to what I expect of Honda. More
