My experience with the Ortiz's of Foreign Affairs Auto was EXTRAORDINARY. I bought a Plug-in Prius (Prius w/Hymotion equipment added). They are in Florida, I am in Texas. THeir website answered most of my questions then they answered the rest over the phone. We made the deal without me ever seeing the car. I flew to Florida. I arrived after hours and they picked me up at the airport. We concluded the transaction and I drove off. After a short drive the car displayed a warning light. I called Jonathan. He said bring it back and we will fix it. I took it back the next day and they gave me a car to drive while I waited and $100 for my trouble. They made the repair in short order and I was on my way. The car is WONDERFUL! With the price of gas - I'm way ahead with the option to plug in my car! I'm now getting 100+ MPG! I gave them a "Good" on Quality of work only because there was a problem with the original installation - their EXCELLENT customer service well made up for the problem. I had planned to stay in Florida a couple of days so although I was inconvenienced, having a car to drive kept me from missing out on my plans. More

While snowbirding in south Miami from New York, I decided to check out the Mercedes Benz sl models that were advitized on e-bay and other auto sites. After inspecting a few of them I came across a 1984 sl model that was advertized by Foreign Affairs Auto. Their pre owned sales manager, Fred Rugnetta and I took the sl for a test drive and upon our return to their office we put the car up on a lift to check out the underbody which was dry as a bone and rustfree. Now I should point out that my previous law enforcement background has always made me suspicious of "used car salesmen" but Fred with his New England drawl was as honest and straight forward as they come. We went over the vehicle's previous ownership and service history records that were on file and available to any new owner along with some very minor observation I made during the test drive. Then I met Jonathan Ortiz, son of Foreign Affairs founder Frank Ortiz, who essentially serves as CEO. Jonathan and I entered into a brief negotiation which concluded with a agreed upon sale price. Jonathan was more than reasonable and fair in the process since the listed price for the sl was much more than my budget would allow. Even after the deal was consumated Jonathan offered to store the sl at his site and ship the vehicle to New York at his cost, which we both examined on several transport web sites. Next I met his father Frank, who seems to now be in charge of the repair shop. Frank, with pen and pad in hand took notes of some small items that I believed needed attention. There is no question in my assessment that this family run business is founded and deep rooted in honesty, integrety and customer service. I could go on in even greater length about the positive experience I have had in doing business with Foreign Affairs Auto but I think you get the point. Should they offer a vehicle that interests you, Go for it! I'm sure you will find the entire experience of dealing with them, as I have, a most pleasant and rewarding one. More
