I brought my car in for a tire check. I was told there was a nail too close to the sidewall and therefore couldn’t be repaired. I was told a tire would be ordered and I was given the cost I was told there was a nail too close to the sidewall and therefore couldn’t be repaired. I was told a tire would be ordered and I was given the cost for the replacement in writing. After being notified a week or so later to return for the replacement, I made an appointment for the new tire to be mounted. Once I got there for my appointment, my advisor said he wanted to go take a look at the tire. Once he did, he told me they would have to order the tire. I asked why because it was already ordered and was told it was a 16 and I needed a 17. Then I was informed all my tires should be replaced due to wear and at the very least I needed to replace the rear tires. He said it wasn’t good to just replace one. I begrudgingly agreed and we went back inside for the price of the job and was quoted a higher price. I told him I wasn’t happy that I hadn’t been told by the mechanic that originally did the work that all my tires needed replacing and I questioned the price. I was told I had to take a picture of the quote and send it to him. I left the dealership feeling the advisor was taking advantage of me and it felt very underhanded. I sent the picture and received a phone call telling me the second price was higher because it was for a more expensive tire and not what was currently on my car. There had never been any discussion of using a different tire. All service on my Cmax has been done at a Ford Dealership and now, after this experience, I doubt I’ll be back. I’m very unhappy and still need my tire repaired! More
