We haggled over a trade-in price, we "thought" we'd agreed on a price, but when we arrived the next day to purchase the price was less approx. $1500 - the dealership was backing out the tax credit we s agreed on a price, but when we arrived the next day to purchase the price was less approx. $1500 - the dealership was backing out the tax credit we should get from the state, and counting as part of the trade-in value, which was not discussed prior. We are A/Z plan buyers (Ford retiree) and the dealer tried to include a $1700 dealer option fee, something we've never run across before. We asked what is that for - we were told for oil changes for 2 years - we never asked for that, $1700 can buy a lot of oil changes. As A/Z plan buyers the max a dealer can charge for Documentation fee is $75, this dealer was charging us $499, this is against Ford's agreement with the dealerships. The taxes were approx. $300-$400 over what they should have been at 8.375%, when we calculated at home there was a big difference. We left the dealership in frustration, with a photo copy of the paperwork, since they would not allow us to take it home. Please be aware of these practices when buying a car at this dealership - we plan to take our business elsewhere. More

I leased my first Ford 4 years ago. We got it because we had a baby and wanted something safe and with the extra space for our growing family. We have loved it. My lease was about to expire so we explored every other suv option available and came to the conclusion - no other vehicle - including luxury suvs had the amenities, space and performance of the Ford Explorer.
