Unfortunately, my experience with Toyota service overall has been disappointing. I chose Toyota for their reputation for quality and long-lasting vehicles, but my truck's recent repairs have raised concerns. After 170,000 miles without major issues, I faced costly repairs, and now, less than 6,000 miles later, some of the previous work needs to be redone under warranty. However, Toyota only offers a 1-year warranty on repairs, and had it failed after that, I would have paid twice. In addition, the service is more expensive than going to a private mechanic, but I expected high-quality work. Unfortunately, repairs barely lasted 8 months, and during my most recent visit, more costly repairs were needed, along with faulty parts being ordered twice. I understand that repairs are inevitable with a truck of this age, but I expected Toyota's quality to hold up longer, especially given their history of longevity. At this point, I’m questioning whether continuing to use Toyota for service is worth it. My brother's Tacoma, serviced by private mechanics, is running strong at nearly 300,000 miles. With Toyota’s declining quality, I might consider going elsewhere to save money, even if it means sacrificing the warranty. Be cautious before committing to expensive repairs here, as they may not last as long as you expect. More
I had a service appointment for 1pm and by 4pm they hadn't even touched the car. The guy said usually if you want work done on it then you should bring it in by 10am. Consistently poor service. Did not mark service book for service despite my request. Never clean car. Always move seat back and never return to prior setting. Always remind me to come in for service immediately after i have already visited for service. Find items and try to upcharge despite me paying for toyota care. Always bills and needs to be reminded that I have already paid for toyota care. Dealership lost my check when i purchased vehicle. BRAND NEW VEHICLE had a check engine light on WHEN I PURCHASED IT and service dept only cleared the code, rendered NO SERVICES. Light came on again before i drove my new car home and service dept admitted they did NOT attempt repairs, but only cleared code. I had to demand repairs. Honestly this dealership and service department in Folsom is consistently the WORST experience and i regret paying for toyota care and being locked in at this horrible place. More
