I have never purchased a new car, and I was quite nervous when I got to the dealership, but Shawn Kennedy did a great job at putting me at ease. He was friendly and professional. The whole process went smoot when I got to the dealership, but Shawn Kennedy did a great job at putting me at ease. He was friendly and professional. The whole process went smoothly and I got to drive home in a brand new, beautiful Outback! More
I bought a used ford SUV from brown subaru/honda one month ago. Keeping in mind that this is a USED car it had 80K mileage. However I am now having to replace the airbag sensors AND harness because Bro month ago. Keeping in mind that this is a USED car it had 80K mileage. However I am now having to replace the airbag sensors AND harness because Brown turned OFF the srs light so it could pass inspection. They told me this was NOT covered under my extended warranty and they couldnt even work on it, so I am having to take it to the ford dealership. When I got to Ford, Browns insurance rep didnt know I existed in the system, therefor having NO warranty. I spent an extra hour and 25 minutes TRYING to resolve the problem myself seeing as Brown did not call the company and confirm anything. I left my house at 10 AM and didnt get home until 530PM. Having to do ALL the work on my own, finding my policy, making sure i even had one, just to have Browns tell me they werent going to fix it at all. This is a 300.00 dollar fix I have to pay OUT OF POCKET when things like this is why i bought their extended warranty. They seemingly covered up this problem for quick sale by turning off the light. They dont offer rentals when their "quality" cars break a month after you get them, they dont offer ANY compensation, no regards,no apology for my WHOLE day of inconvience. Bottom line, I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND THEM EVER AGAIN!!!!! Not to mention the uninformed staff, sales consultants and management. They are very rude unless your more than willing to fork over 30k for a used LEMON. More

They also have a policity of no charge for state inspections inspection had expired I called to ask if they could squeeeze me in that day. They ddi. They also have a policity of no charge for state inspections even though I bought the car from a dealer in another town. You can be sure I'll be getting all my work done there More
Ever since I bought my 2009 Subaru Forester on Halloween weekend of 2009 I have been most pleased with the service, attention to detail, cleanliness of the facility, friendliness of all the staff I have enc weekend of 2009 I have been most pleased with the service, attention to detail, cleanliness of the facility, friendliness of all the staff I have encountered and the ambiance of Brown Subaru. I want to especially acknowledge Christian McFarland, April Powell, Stanley Oakrum and Mark Hall whom I have had the most contact with. More
We had decided on a specific model and color of Subaru Outback, which we learned was very was hard to find. Scott Willer and the sales department worked very hard for several days to find the vehicle (all Outback, which we learned was very was hard to find. Scott Willer and the sales department worked very hard for several days to find the vehicle (all the way up in PA which is 100+ miles from the Brown Auto in Charlottesville!). They were able to secure the vehicle and deliver to us very quickly and efficiently. Both Scott and Christian did a great job explaining the features of the vehicle to me. They exceeded my expectations! More
I appreciate the time Christian McFarland spent working with me to ensure that I got the car I wanted, at a competitive price. He very patiently reviewed all of the features of the 2013 Subaru Forester, a with me to ensure that I got the car I wanted, at a competitive price. He very patiently reviewed all of the features of the 2013 Subaru Forester, and made sure I felt confident that I was making the right choice. I felt like I had his full attention, and that I was not "just another customer". There was no pressure, no hurry; he is a very affable person and a pleasure to work with. Brandon Snow worked with me on financing, took time to explain the terms and all of my options, and very patiently walked me through the different types of extended care packages available. He was very understanding when, because of my decision, he had to make a change in all of the paperwork, and was very personable and friendly throughout the transaction. This is the second Subaru I have bought at Brown's (the first was a 2003) and I have had a consistently good experience with both the sales and the service personnel. More
Personnel very friendly and respectful -- very knowledgeable --and attending to other issues not related to the overall timely maintenance service appointment. So far, everything seems fine. I took my 2011 WRX in to get the clutch replaced and to get an oil changed. I'm also looking at into getting a new car; When I dropped off my WRX on friday I spoke to a sales rep about a new STI, it was li get an oil changed. I'm also looking at into getting a new car; When I dropped off my WRX on friday I spoke to a sales rep about a new STI, it was like biting nails to get the price even close to competitions prices. I would recommend anyone in the market for a new Subaru to goto Reynolds in Orange County, VA. Very fair prices on trade, they're completely upfront with you on everything, and they'll go out of their way to be assured that you're pleased with the purchase even after the sale, you're not just a number to them, unlike with brown. On the clutch issue, brown said that if the clutch had *any* hot spots on it, it wouldn't be covered under the 36k warranty, spoke with reynolds and they assured me it would. If your clutch is slipping you're going to have hot spots and these ignorant people are just out to get your money, avoid at all possible. Terrible customer service, terrible prices, and terrible at getting in contact with you during the issues. Overall completely pathetic, I hope they go out of business. Thanks, me More
Last Saturday the gas tank latch got stuck on my Forrester making it impossible to put gas in the car. We live in Rappahannock County at least an hour away from any dealers. I thought it would be i Forrester making it impossible to put gas in the car. We live in Rappahannock County at least an hour away from any dealers. I thought it would be impossible to get it fixed on a weekend, provided we even had enough gas to get to either Winchester or Charlottesville. My husband wanted to go to Charlottesville, but I was leaning toward Winchester (20 miles closer). Well, he won and we headed to Charlottesville. When we arrived, Tim was extremely nice and went out to take a look at the problem. He enlisted the help of Rae Morris and within ten minutes we were on our way, having purchased (for less than five dollars) a part that they installed in the parking lot. All of this without an appointment! Does this really happen anymore? Yes, and I am forever a fan of Brown Subaru service department. More
