Your service take-in process was exceptionally smooth and efficient. Communication was great, and Josh was great. I have one major complaint however. The recall work was to replace a defective engine heat efficient. Communication was great, and Josh was great. I have one major complaint however. The recall work was to replace a defective engine heat shield between the engine and exhaust. During the work I was told that two engine mounts had worn out. I was given a cost estimate of over $1000 to replace the mounts. I found sets of all three OEM mounts for under $100 and I watched several YouTube videos that showed the work(in a home garage) to take up to one hour max to replace all three. I have a well set up garage and can do that work easily myself. I used to own a 2008 E500 wagon which I loved but once it was out of warranty the Mercedes fees for parts and labor were outrageously high so I moved on to an American car. For a ultra simple and cheap car like the SMART, your estimate was beyond the pale. Especially since your mechanic was already working in the area of the mounts. Had you given me a price of parts plus one hour of labor I probably would have given you the work. It’s things like this that made me leave MB for other cars. More
