Front Wheel alignment issue 2014 Sprinter 3500 Dually. On January 8th of this year I had a four wheel alignment performed and had two new Vanco "All Season" tires installed on my vehicle, a 2014 Sprinter 3 On January 8th of this year I had a four wheel alignment performed and had two new Vanco "All Season" tires installed on my vehicle, a 2014 Sprinter 3500. The purpose for this was twofold: 1. The existing tires had 25,000 miles on them and were showing signs of tread wear on the inner side of both wheels 2. We were planning a longer trip a little later in the year and wanted to be sure we had good tires and alignment, a general check up was done at the same time to look at brakes, fluids etc. In April we had planned our trip and just to be sure all was well we had an "A" service done and another general check up that was done on 4/25/2019 and all was well, we left on our trip that was planned for about 4500 miles on the 29th. On or about May 11th after driving roughly 4400 miles on the new tires I inadvertently discovered that the two front tires were wearing extremely badly on the inside tread, the passenger side had been completely worn off below the tread wear makers and the drivers side was a close second. Upon discovering this my wife and I decided to take our vehicle into a tire and alignment shop ASAP, our first opportunity came up in Cody Wyoming. We took our vehicle to a well respected tire shop in Cody, where we were told that our best bet would be to replace the two tires and realign the front end. I then called my dealer and left a message with our service professional about the issue, indicating that we should not be having this problem after a full 4 wheel alignment and two new tires less than 4500 miles beforehand. The Good Part: Within about 45 minutes I had a call back from the dealer who said to go ahead and replace the tires and have the front end realigned, bring the old tires back with me and the receipt for the work and they would take care of it!! Very professional behavior with no hint of excuses whatsoever, I was very impressed! So we had the work done, the Cody Tire shop was very accommodating to us and even though they didn't have the right size tire they dispatched one of their employees to pick some up from another location that had what we needed, they were helpful and professional. Upon our return home we made an appointment with the dealer to go in and provide them with the tires they had asked us to return and also the bill for the work that had been done in Cody WY. Upon arrival we were met by the service advisor who we know quite well, who looked at the tires, agreed with the actions that had been taken and set about getting us a refund. We were asked what we thought was fair and basically all we wanted was to be made whole on the additional expense of tires and alignment while on the road and the extra night cost we incurred while the vehicle was being worked on. The dealer also while we were there balanced the front wheels as they had a slight shimmy and offered to realign the front end which we declined as the new tires appear to be tracking well with the alignment that was done by the tire shop in Cody, but we reserved the option to have that done again in the future should the need arise. The dealer was going to reimburse us in full back to our credit card, but instead I asked them to make it a future credit as I will certainly be returning for additional work on my vehicle. We have been coming to this Sprinter service center since they opened and have always had exceptional service and care, as well as friendly interaction with all involved. I don't know what went wrong with the alignment we had done in January, it could have been computer error or technician error, it doesn't really matter. What really matters here is the dealer did the right thing, without question or excuse and they were accommodating and professional along the way. Having been in the service business all my life, it was a real pleasure to deal with true professionals. More
