We're truly sorry to hear about the issues you've faced with your vehicle's engine. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this experience must be, especially after diligently following all the maintenance recommended by Ford Motor Company. To clarify, Ford Motor Company provides a Powertrain Warranty for up to 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. You also opted for an extended warranty that offered additional coverage up to 75,000 miles, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining and protecting your vehicle. However, as your vehicle has now exceeded Ford’s warranty by 40,000 miles and the extended warranty by 29,000 miles, it unfortunately falls outside the coverage limits. We understand your frustration, and while we empathize with your situation, we believe we have been transparent about the warranty and coverage you purchased. Regular maintenance can help extend the life of vehicle components, but it does not guarantee immunity from major failures such as an engine breakdown. Regarding our $500 offer, we want to clarify that this was based purely on the mechanical condition of your vehicle and the cost involved in bringing it to a resalable condition. According to Manheim auction data, the average auction price for a vehicle like yours is around $8,300. The cost of a remanufactured engine can range from $5,000 to $6,000, with additional labor costs of approximately $2,000 for replacement. Our offer reflected these considerations and was not influenced by the physical condition of your vehicle or the new tires. As for your concern about a potential recall for the engine, this decision rests solely with Ford Motor Company and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
