SOLD A RUSTY UN-INSPECTED VEHICLE. I purchased the brakes for the Highlander and have been informed that the clunk isn’t even from the brakes prior to installing. I’ve been informed t I purchased the brakes for the Highlander and have been informed that the clunk isn’t even from the brakes prior to installing. I’ve been informed that the vehicle is almost unsafe to drive due to apparently the clunk coming from the front struts and possible rear which are likely what’s causing the vibration as well. I was shown them and they are completely rusted. This car was NOT inspected! This is an EXPENSIVE replacement and Fields how can you possibly sell a vehicle like this. The clunk has been there the entire time and others thought it was brakes from driving it. But it seems with further inspection that the struts are corroding away I’ve included pics. May be more or less to it idk my mechanics all want a lot more money to inspect further which I haven’t done yet. Original: I’m not writing this expecting anything. I’m just frustrated that I have to spend 1k on a car I recently bought. I feel like the disrespect is something ppl should know. I bought a used 2017 Toyota Highlander from Fields BMW about two months ago and traded in my 2021 Subaru Outback. We looked at the Highlander multiple times because we wanted to make sure it would be safe and reliable for my mom. The attitude from sales manager started here. Before buying it, the dealership put new tires on it. Had a shake in the steering wheel and was told they would take care of it. After buying it, I kept calling about getting the wheels balanced and told the service department would contact me. They never did. When I finally got the car in, NONE of the wheels were balanced. (Still has a vibration post repair) Car was clunking since I bought it (which I did express on the visit to get the tires balanced). My mom told me the brakes felt odd and made a noise. I started driving it myself and agreed something was wrong. The brakes are indeed not very good. I called the sales manager Tom, and simply asked if they did the brakes before selling the car and if they would be willing to help with possible replacement. I wasn’t demanding anything and even asked if they could just help with the labor. I knew he might say no. I understand I bought a used car and that two months had passed. But his attitude was the problem. He became defensive and passive-aggressive, then brought up how my Subaru supposedly needed $7,000 worth of work. There’s this underlying egotistical attitude of “I’m the big guy here, and you’re bothering me.” Every time. You have to be careful how you talk because it feels like he’s one sentence away from crashing out on you and whining. I get anxiety calling because I’m scared of how he’ll react. Guy just needs to smile or intake some positivity. Humans should treat each other as equals. What makes it worse is throughout the buying process I kept hearing, “This is Fields. We’ll take care of any issues.” When an actual issue came up, the attitude changed. Acted like the money was coming out of his bank account and not a million dollar dealership franchise. I do not believe that the Highlander was inspected: torn wipers, none of the tires balanced, questionable brakes, an oil change sticker from over a year ago (they claimed it was done but Toyota dealer did not agree based on the oil change a week post purchase), dog hair all over carpets, and what looked like an entire nest inside the cabin air filter (disgusting). To be fair, Tom did replace the wipers and the dealership balanced the wheels for free. I understand that I bought a 10-year-old used car. I’m not expecting a brand-new vehicle. I expect a dealership to properly inspect what they sell and treat customers with basic respect. I don’t care that they refused to fix the brakes. I care about the way I was treated when I asked. I genuinely hope he gets an attitude adjustment and learns the words “sorry” and “thank you”. Learn that you can tell someone no without acting like they’re beneath you. I bought a $26,000 Toyota, not a $70,000 BMW. That shouldn More

I had a great experience at Fields BMW Northfield, from the best salesperson, Ray Judeh, to the finance department. Ray was easy to communicate with by text, email, and phone. Getting me all my answers qu the best salesperson, Ray Judeh, to the finance department. Ray was easy to communicate with by text, email, and phone. Getting me all my answers quickly from my questions, From setting up an appointment to see the car and start the paperwork. I never felt any pressure from Ray or the finance department. There was no overpressure to get the add-ons; they just explained what they were, and the ones I said no to did not try to change my mind. Overall, a wonderful experience driving out with my new car, feeling like I was not bullied or. Had my time disrespected. More

I recently visited the Fields Service Center in Northfield, Illinois, for the second time within a week to address issues on my 2017 BMW X1. As a long-time BMW owner, my experience here was deeply Northfield, Illinois, for the second time within a week to address issues on my 2017 BMW X1. As a long-time BMW owner, my experience here was deeply disappointing. After spending over $1,700 on repairs for new tires, brake pads, and an alignment, the TPMS light came on (with a reading of 7 psi) just days after picking up my vehicle. I returned to the dealership, hoping for a swift resolution, but was met with a lack of urgency and poor customer service after they asked me to pay an additional $250 for bad sensors. Despite my attempt to escalate the issue, I was dismissed by a service manager, Brandon, who was dismissive and unprofessional. When I expressed my concerns and disagreed with the handling of the situation, I was told I was “making a scene.” I was told the faulty sensor was “bad timing” and that the broken sensor was just a “coincidence” despite their techs being the only people to touch this area on the vehicle. To make matters worse, I felt like I wasn’t being listened to, especially when I mentioned my warranty, which is something we added on to use not for it to be held against us. The dealership’s reluctance to take responsibility led to a negative experience that was only resolved after escalating to the service director, who quickly rectified the issue. I’ve been a loyal BMW customer for years, and this experience has left me questioning my relationship with BMW (6 vehicles in 16 years). The lack of customer advocacy and the indifferent attitude towards issues that arose so soon after a major service is not acceptable. I had zero luck with Fields’ leadership and am now seriously considering getting rid of this vehicle. More

I reported the situation to the manager and they refunded me the exact amount that was stolen. I asked for them to reimburse the gas for driving back to dealership (I had returned home and then discovered the missing cash), but they refused. I understand the dealership is not liable for stolen items or damaged goods inside the car during the car service. However, it doesn’t give me confidence to use the service at this location again because the person who stole the money hasn’t be caught at the time of writing this review. I politely remind people to not store valuable items in the car while getting it serviced. It’s common sense, but I was in a rush and forgot to take the cash out. Nevertheless, I expected more from this dealership because they’re supposed to be trustworthy. I gave two stars because the dealership resolved this conflict adequately but not more due to the theft.
