Excellent Dealer Experience I was doing some research on-line for a new car for my wife. She had a large V-8 engine Lexus SUV and she wanted to stay with an SUV, but a smaller mo I was doing some research on-line for a new car for my wife. She had a large V-8 engine Lexus SUV and she wanted to stay with an SUV, but a smaller model. We had several responses to inquiries from local dealers, but the dealer that was the most aggressive, and seemingly motivated, was Ferman BMW. Brianne Selfsick at their call center didn't give up until we made contact. Although they were located in Palm Harbor, we set up an appointment to drive over there to view a BMW X3. We were met by Brian Gaines. Brian was very low key. He knew, and thoroughly communicated, the features and benefits of both the specific car model we were interested in, and what he felt set BMW apart from the competition. My wife found an X3 xDrive 28i with the exterior color, leather interior trim color, and options, she wanted on their lot. The negotiation went smoothly with Brian offering a very fair trade in on our car. After the sale was completed, Brian took the time to explain as much about the operation of the car's various features as out brains would allow. He then got us in contact with their BMW "Tech Genius", Sam Watts . We returned a few days later for an appointment with Sam and he walked us through how to use all the cutting edge technology the car had to offer. I would like to add that the meeting we had with their finance manager was also no-pressure. He outlined the various warranty packages available and the costs and benefits and left it for us to decide. Every member of the Ferman team we dealt with at the dealership was respectful and professional from the receptionist right on up. Way to go Ferman ! My wife loves this new BMW X3. We would definitely recommend Brian Gaines and the Ferman BMW Dealership to friends and family. More

Crashed Our X3 I took our car to get serviced at Ferman BMW. I received a call the next day that a porter was involved in an accident with our X3. This unfortunately was not the worst of my experience, that award goes to my interaction with the BMW dealership GM and Ferman corporate. I would strongly advise against doing business with this dealership. More
Ferman service was fantastic Ryan and Kim were fantastic. I appreciated getting to communicate directly with the tech as I'm a car junkie and fairly car knowledgeable. Ryan was awesome getting warranty coverage on a pesky steering wheel noise and also let me know about a recall. he was careful with my car and super professional. I have never worked with a better client advisor than Kenny Russell. His knowledge of the BMW product was impressive and he was very accommodating of my busy schedule. Throughout the purchase process, I felt I was being dealt with honestly and that he was sincerely interested in getting me into the vehicle that I wanted at a reasonable purchase price. Work that Kenny promised would be done before I took delivery of the vehicle was completed as he promised. I have never worked with a better client advisor. In my opinion Ferman BMW and Kenny Russell are second to none. I will be back to purchase my next BMW from Ferman BMW and I look forward to working with Kenny Russell again. More

Well he wasn't a sales agent, he was a BMW Genius. He knew all about the vehicle I wanted to purchase down to the technology and the performance of the car. Having somebody take me on a test drive that wasn't in the sales department really made this a no-pressure sale. He did such a great job at explaining and showing me all of the features while I was driving I felt extremely comfortable without having to make a decision. Never once did he ask me if I wanted to purchase the car or if I was ready to buy a car that day. I would definitely recommend this dealership or Sam to anybody that goes there. What a new way of buying a car. More

Disasterous inspection of lease termination I was contacted by the dealer requesting me to present my leased 528 for a pre-inspection to "prevent any surprises at the lease termination". First I was contacted by the dealer requesting me to present my leased 528 for a pre-inspection to "prevent any surprises at the lease termination". First, let me say that I take great pride in the care of my vehicles, both mechanically and cosmetically. My vehicle is waxed (by me personally with Meguiars Next Gen2) every three months. It is detailed by me on a weekly basis. I was allowed 36,000 miles on the lease, and as of the date of the "inspection" the odometer showed about 26,000 miles. The car was stored nightly in my garage. In short, it was immaculate........or so I thought. My inspector, after looking over the car, complemented me on its appearance and remarked that it would be a keeper, meaning that the dealership would keep it for resale, based on its appearance and mileage. HE THEN PRESENTED ME WITH A BILL OF $800. There were two small (about 1 inch) scrapes on the front wheel rims that were barely visible to the naked eye. BMW would charge me $300 Apiece to "fix" them. There was a dimple on the front bumper about the size of a quarter (no paint missing). Repair cost: $100. A scratch on the rear bumper about 2 inches long. Repair cost $100. He also informed me that I would probably have to replace the tires, since they were very close to the margin allowed for treadwear. THOSE WERE THE SUM TOTAL OF IMPERFECTIONS ON THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF THE CAR. When I asked him what he considered normal wear and tear allowed in the lease, he did not give me a definitive answer. Needless to say, I was VERY skeptical of this procedure and decided to consult with another dealer in the Tampa area. He told me that his dealership did NOT do the lease termination, but used an independent agency. I called the agency, who sent an inspector to examine the vehicle. He was most complimentary and gave the vehicle a perfect rating, and also noted that the tires were within the legal tread ratings. I then turned the vehicle into the dealer. They handled everything very professionally. I found out that Ferman was given the authority by BMW to handle the inspections directly. As far as I am concerned, this is like giving the fox the keys to the henhouse. It is a TERRIBLE idea and puts the consumer at the mercy of the dealer. No chance of an impartial third party participation. I am still seething over this experience. I wasted many hours gtting this matter resolved. The well has been poisoned. I cannot in good conscience recommend this dealer to anyone. More
