My salesman, Dan MacDonald, was patient and genuine, never pushy. He answered all my questions over the phone, sent information over email, and took the time to walk me through each part of the car. He waited until my deal was done, after closing time. I know he's in the running for salesman of the month, he hands down deserves it! The finance director, Scott, took several hours to walk me through my insurance & financing process. He provided sound advice I knew I could rely on. Thank you! In short, the people at Ferman honest, provide good vehicles and only want buyers to buy if they want! There's a reason they've been in business over 125 years. P.S. Failed to honor extended warranty Had a check engine light on our 2014 Mini Paceman with 35,000 miles. Immediately called dealership to schedule appointment. Diagnosis was a stuck open Had a check engine light on our 2014 Mini Paceman with 35,000 miles. Immediately called dealership to schedule appointment. Diagnosis was a stuck open fuel tank vent valve, caused by a clogged charcoal canister. Initial repair estimate was $900. We explained that we had an extended warranty, provided by the dealership. The car was originally a dealer service loaner vehicle, and had been in use for about 8 months and had a few thousand miles on it prior to our purchasing it. The dealership offered us a Certified Pre Owned extended warranty for one extra year of coverage. They claimed that the warranty would not cover these items because the charcoal cannister is essentially a filter, and filters are not covered. We went to Mini USA to complain and they agreed to cover the cost of the vent valve, but not the charcoal cannister. The dealership agreed to contribute towards the repair from a "Goodwill Fund", but required us to pay $278.75 for the charcoal cannister (filter). They included a list of Excluded Items from warranty coverage, and they highlighted the following: exhaust systems (including catalytic converters); filters This was their reasoning for not covering the failed charcoal cannister, which is not a filter that anyone can access or clean or replace. It is not like an air filter or oil filter. It is a component within the vehicle. After getting home and filing our paperwork away, we noticed our original copy of the same list of Excluded Items not covered by warranty. ONE BIG PROBLEM, IT WASN'T THE SAME. Our list of Excluded Items, did NOT include the word "filters". It simply reads: exhaust systems (including catalytic converters) Why the discrepancy? This is the list that was given to us at time of purchase, signed by us and the salesperson. After looking closely at bot documents, we saw that the Excluded Items list the dealership hung their hat on was for vehicles retailed prior to 4/1/2014. The list we were provided at time of purchase is for vehicles retailed on or after 4/1/2014. We were the first retail owners of the vehicle and purchased it on 7/14/14. Therefore the Excluded Items list that the dealership used to force us to pay, unfairly, for a part that should have been covered, was the incorrect list. We have been Ferman customers for many years. In the past 12 years, we have purchased 3 Chevy Silverado pickup trucks, a Chevy Camaro RS, and this was my wife's second Mini. Now it's her last. Can anybody reccomend a dealership who will honor their extended warranties? I will gladly take my business to them. What a shame, that $278 has cost Ferman a loyal customer who has spent in excess of $100,000 on new vehicles. Their loss. UPDATE: As shown below, the dealership posted a response, asking that we contact Bob Murray, GM of Ferman BMW/Mini. We attempted to contact Mr. Murray on 3 occassions, left a voicemail with his personal assistant, and finally left a voicemail on Mr. Murray's extension. NO CALLS WERE EVER ANSWERED NOR EVER RETURNED. THIS DEALERSHIP DOES NOT CARE !! More

My experience with Steve Venden & Ferman BMW Once again I had a very enjoyable, informative and most professional experience with Steve Venden and Ferman BMW - my second car leased with Steve. O Once again I had a very enjoyable, informative and most professional experience with Steve Venden and Ferman BMW - my second car leased with Steve. On Monday, June 18th, I brought my 440i in for service. I leased that car from Steve and Ferman on December 12, 2016, thus was in the middle of a 36 month lease. Our 2 door car needed to be upgraded to a 4 door. While Cesar Tereso (also excellent) was assessing my car for service I took the time to roam the new car lot looking at 4 door models. I asked Tereso not to do anything with the service until I spoke with Steve about a new lease on a 4 door. Long story short, Steve and I arrived at a 2018 540i, beautiful 4 door on the lot with a complete sports package. I had described to Steve exactly what I wanted and he found it - the perfect car for my wife and me. Alpine white with a white leather interior, my wife’s favorite combination. Steve wasted no time - we immediately took a test driver then came back to his office to negotiate a new lease. I added a couple features that we already had on our present car - carbon fiber spoiler and mirror covers. I then had to leave for an appointment but Steve told me he would run the numbers and get back to me soon. I heard from Steve in a couple hours and we quickly consummated the deal. We bought out of our first lease and set up a new 36 month lease for the 540i. Steve would have had the car and paperwork ready the next day but my wife was scheduled for surgery so we met yesterday, Wednesday the 30th at 11:00am. Our new car was completely detailed. Steve even surprised me by having the car already tinted! At 11am yesterday the car was completely ready (a couple items had to be ordered). The car was perfectly detailed. The financing was set up and handled efficiently by Scott Douglas (Spelling). I transferred everything from my 440i to our new 540i. Steve then took the time to completely orient me to the new car, he answered all my questions, set all my personal settings, paired up my phone, etc. In summary, I couldn’t have had a better car buying experience. I have purchased or leased over 30 cars over the years and my 2 best experiences by far have been with Steve Venden and Ferman BMW. He is the best - knowledgeable, professional and low pressure. I could not have been more satisfied with a car buying/leasing experience. I do know from past history that Steve with answer the phone whenever I need him. I do recommend Steve Venden and Ferman BMW to any person interested in a new or pre-owned vehicle. More
