We were outside Two weeks ago I purchased a Forester. I and not heard positive comments about Ertle but my experience was completely to the contrary!! We were outside looking when a nice gentlemen came up to us and asked if we needed assistance. He was very soft spoken and accommodating. Tom Nottle did not pressure us or try to convince us of anything. He just guided us patiently. When it came to working numbers he worked very hard to give us a price we could not pass on! He sent us a card and called to follow up to see if we had any questions. This is the 10th vehicle we have purchased and absolutely the BEST experience for us! Today we went back to meet with Arielle Garcia, Reputation Manager/Delivery Specialist and she sat in our car and went over all of our questions and explained all of its technology. She was pleasant, patient and knowledgeable!I am sorry to say that Abeloff's lost a very valuable customer of many years! I would highly recommend Tom Nottle and Ertle Subaru to anyone:) More

I'll start my story by saying that I have had ongoing issues with my 13' crosstrek since 10000 miles. my subaru was purchased in Virginia so that is not being blamed on ertle at all. when I did service my car in VA the service was horrible. 1 year later I moved to NY. This was the dealership that I notified the problem of an extended crank and clunk upon starting, this was also when the problem began. I took my car in to feders subaru in Middletown NY....for a simple oil change.....there was a horrible odor after driving my car.....turns out they had poured oil all over my engine and it was burning. has to take it back and get it cleaned...went back again for low coolant....they claimed it wasn't low....lol. they had filled it and told me I was wrong. I never went back.. changed my dealership to colonialSubaru in Kingston ny....their service department had me drive over an hour each way countless times to try and fix the crank and clunk...over 5 times...and it was never ever fixed even after they brought in a " special" service guy......not to mention the terrible attitudes of their service department . I honestly had given up on this issue ever being fixed...and was planning to sell my car and never get another subaru again. i have owned 2 subarus prior to this one...and was also raised in a family driving subarus....and loved them. yet this experience had me so angry and I couldn't believe 2 dealerships couldn't fix the problem which would at times leave me stranded with my car not starting. I ended up moving to PA and found ertle subaru and thank God I did. they fixed the extended crank issue in 1 visit. . yes a single visit. I take my car to them for everything I need and they are so professional and knowledgeable. Bill and James at the desk listen to everything you are saying and convey that to the service men in back. I can say this dealerships service center is amazing and has changed my opinion of newer subarus. They have my car in tip top shape...and I love it again....no longer want to sell it. also, when I am ready for a newer model....i will be purchasing from Ertle. More
The worst service experience I've ever seen. Last year I was at Ertle Subaru for a transmission issue, and they had to replace the transmission issue under factory warranty. It took 5 weeks because they had to rebuild it two or three times, but it was still never done correctly. They ended up putting in a re-manufactured transmission after their attempts of a rebuild. During this 5 week process I had a wheel damaged while my car was in their care and alerted the service writer Bill and the manager Chuck. They said they did not do this and that they would not repair it; they claimed the wheels never came off the car to drop the transmission out and there would be no way the wheel could have been damaged, however I could have 100 dollars off my next service. I argued that I brought it in near perfect and I didn't expect it back less than that, and they quickly agreed to resolve the issue. Upon pickup of the vehicle I had been given my car back completely covered in mechanic grease everywhere- such as on the steering wheel, seats, arm rests and center console- along with my bumper hanging off on the passenger side. I completely understand the grease, but the interior is the light platinum and should have been cleaned. I alerted the writer, Bill, who got the manager, Chuck, to come out and look over the car. He said he did not do this and told me he does not want to work with me. He said that every time I come in it's a different issue and that I should use a different dealer as they do not wish to work with me any longer. In the end I had to email the owner of the dealership and explain the whole experience just to get my car cleaned. Fast forward one year and my car is having what sounds like transmission whine, so I bring it back to the dealership. They go out for a ride with me to inspect the noise and verify that it's the transmission. Once I return to the dealer the writer, Bill, says the vehicle is modified and will not be inspected any further because I'm out of my 1 year unlimited mileage warranty on my re-manufactured transmission. I have to sit there and pull it up on Subaru of America's website that a re-manufactured transmission has a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. Bill argues that that is incorrect with me and asks me to leave because they will not work on my car because it is lowered. I ask why that is an issue since the car was identical to what it was last year when they worked on it. I call up Subaru of America to get this resolved and they call Chuck at Ertle to have the car looked over. Ertle agrees and I set it up for that Friday at 9 in the morning. As I get there I am told they have no idea why I am there, they never spoke to anyone at SOA, and they refuse to diagnose the vehicle; I wasted my time for no reason. I leave 5 minutes after getting there and call SoA. I get a hold of the woman who talked to Chuck and she explains that Chuck "forgot" that he spoke to her and "forgot" what warranty is associated with a re-manufactured transmission. After explaining the incident from last year to her she promptly gets me in contact with Subaru 46 in Bud Lake, NJ. I drop the car off at Subaru 46 in NJ and they diagnose the car and do my recalls in less than 24 hours. They give me my car back fixed and cleaner than when I dropped it off. As a loyal Subaru owner, I expect my vehicle to be treated correctly and with respect, but Ertle Subaru was unable to do that. For these reasons my family and I will no longer purchase or service our vehicles with Ertle Subaru. More

Don't Trust the Service Dept. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Drove home and picked up my husband and brother in law on our way to Musikfest. The oil light went on. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Drove home and picked up my husband and brother in law on our way to Musikfest. The oil light went on. My husband is asking me why the light is on...didn't I just have this changed. Yes, here is the paperwork. The men get out of the car and check the oil...... hmmm NO OIL! There is nothing in there. The car was towed back to Ertle with all 4 of us in the cab of the tow truck. When we get there, the man that changed the oil took the car in, filled it and told me I could just take it now. No apology, not even an excuse. Obviously, we refused and were given a rental as they did a check on the car. Did they really check it? Who knows. But again, whenI picked up the car the next day, the girls says, "No Charge". Really? No sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. I will not go there again. More
Typical rip women off service center Classic try and screw women over service center! Unless you need to go to them for a recall, stay far away from them! Lied saying I needed $1,000 wort Classic try and screw women over service center! Unless you need to go to them for a recall, stay far away from them! Lied saying I needed $1,000 worth of brakes, which I already knew I didn't. I took the car to another garage and another car expert and it was confirmed, i didn't need them. They still charged me the inspection fee. This place is a real rip off and women should def stay away. I'll be sure to spread the word on how they try and take advantage of women. STAY FAR AWAY!! Look elsewhere for sales or service I purchased my first Subaru from Ertle many years ago. I know Ertle's poor reputation, the only reason I purchased from Ertle was a friend of the fam I purchased my first Subaru from Ertle many years ago. I know Ertle's poor reputation, the only reason I purchased from Ertle was a friend of the family was a salesman there. A few years later, I needed a minor repair that was covered under warranty, so I reluctantly took it to Ertle (the only dealership within a half hr of stroudsburg). After picking up my car, I was only a few miles away when my wheel nearly came off. Something was not connected properly(forgive me, I'm not a mechanic), causing my wheel to come out from the car and hang on at about a 45 degree angle from the road, rather than perpendicular. Also, the wheel was completely rolled back in the wheel well, causing minor body damage to my car. I quickly called the dealership (which I had left only minutes ago), and told them I needed a tow back to the dealership. The lady at the service desk had the nerve to ask me if I had AAA or another way to find a tow. Eventually I spoke to the service manager and he sent a tow truck. The next day, when I went to pick up my car (for the second time), they handed me a bill. They actually tried to charge me for the tow and the repairs due to the damage their poor initial repair had caused. Things actually got a bit heated between me and the service manager, to the point where Jim Ertle intervened. He told me to take my car at no charge, and he would speak to his service manager and get back to me if I owed something. An hour later he called me and was very apologetic, but I'll never deal with them again. I'm in the market for a new Subaru again, and I stopped into Ertle just to get some questions answered. The saleslady I spoke with promised to send me an email answering my questions, but it's been weeks now with no response. I have no idea how this place is still in business. Avoid. More

good experience Called to request information on a head gasket repair. Spoke to James who was very helpful so I scheduled the service. While car was in James called Called to request information on a head gasket repair. Spoke to James who was very helpful so I scheduled the service. While car was in James called about additional work that was needed (which I expected from a dealership) but no pressure to have it done. The work took a day longer than they said it would and I was given a discount to compensate for the extra time. I probably won't take my car there for routine maintenance because of the distance, but I would definitely use them for bigger repairs. More
