This dealership ratings with BBB speaks the truth about Route 22 Nissan in Hillside, New Jersey. This dealership is a nothing but bad news. Here is a link a settlement they had to pay to make certain complaints of fraudulent actions go away... http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/press/lease.htm... While bringing my car for a recall service at the dealership, the customer service representative, Jimmy Freschia, proceeded to perform additional services that were never requested. Please remember that these customer service representatives work based on commission and in order to make their monthly salary to survive they have been known to tackle on additional services to customers' invoices so as to show they are selling more services. When questioned about the services, "Jimmy" said that a request was made and signed for. Keep in mind the conversation that came out between myself and "Jimmy" was that he basically asked if I hear something wrong with the car because he was told the check engine light was on. At that point, "Jimmy" was advised that he was only to perform the recall service and an oil change. After 3 hours in the dealership a bill for almost $300 come to my hand. At that time, the bill was questioned and "Jimmy" was irritated and advised that the services where requested. When payment for such services were refused, "Jimmy" proceed the hold the vehicle hostage. A manager was requested wherein "Jimmy" advised that there was no manager above him and that everything had to be dealt with him only and he had many years of work doing this. The police was called, upon their arrival a work order was presented with a highlight (small print) additional charge for services that were never requested aside from the oil change and the recall service. At that point, a so-called "manager" named Frank Candido appears to speak with the police and seemed to be annoyed the police were called. An anonymous police officer from Hillside mentioned that it was not their first time at the dealership with such issues. After exiting the building a patron advised me that he had already experienced the same issue and that the dealership has been known for such shady practices not only with the service department but also with the sales department. Apparently, the rating at the BBB site are very correct about this dealership and the settlement the dealer paid for seems to show that shady practices are still going on at the dealership. More
After spending about 3 hours on a nice sunny Saturday morning in the dealer trying to workout a lease on a 2010 Rogue, a deal was struck at $2k down pmt and $165+tax. The deal was approved by the sales morning in the dealer trying to workout a lease on a 2010 Rogue, a deal was struck at $2k down pmt and $165+tax. The deal was approved by the sales rep and the sales manager. The only reason that I didn't take one of the vehicles that day was because they were expecting a shipment of more colors the following week. On Tuesday, when I returned to pick up the car, the shipment hadn't arrived and the options in colors were ever more limited. At that point, we agreed for one of the 'in stock' cars in black. Meaning, the car would have to be driven from PA to be delivered adding close to 100 miles to a new vehicle. Anyway, I agreed and after a couple more hours, I went into the finance manager's office where he indicated that in addtion to the $2k down, I still had to come up with another $2500 for doc and reg. Obviously, if I knew this on Saturday, I would have walked out or worked out another deal. What really got me fuming is that I wasted almost an entire day sitting with these jokers just to have them tell me that I 'misunderstood' what the $2k would cover. Don't waste your time like I did. I don't think people have to wonder why car salesman get a bad reputation. More
Called the parts department looking to get OEM spark plugs for a Turbo 300zx. Sales rep told me that they do not carry/stock the turbo plugs. When I asked him if they can order it ,the person said yes b plugs for a Turbo 300zx. Sales rep told me that they do not carry/stock the turbo plugs. When I asked him if they can order it ,the person said yes but I have to buy the case of 10. when I told them that I only needed 6. the person said no I have to buy the 10 before he can order them otherwise he would get stuck with the 4 other plugs. This is so absurd great business push on sales thou, but honestly OEM stock parts. This is like me going to Autozone and wanting to buy 1 qtr of oil and and the salesperson telling me I have to buy the case because they buy them by the case. Is your dealership hurting that 4 xtra plugs is going to break your bottom line. I only went to your dealership due to your reliability from past experiences, but was somewhat dismayed to the reception. More
WARNING!DECEPTIVE PRACTICES! Don't waste your time! I went to purchase a vehicle for my daughter, after she test drove the vehicle,we went to negotiate. I was then told some nonsense about the "price" CL went to purchase a vehicle for my daughter, after she test drove the vehicle,we went to negotiate. I was then told some nonsense about the "price" CLEARLY LISTED on the vehicle being the "finance price" and the actual price was $4000 more! this was not indicated ANYWHERE in the listing. If a business is that deceptive from the start, to do business with them is begging for trouble and problems! needless to say I simply walked out! More

They pushed us to sign the paper and they are using that paper in the court. But we paid full sticker price and my old car had only 70K miles. I don't think they didn't loose anymoney on my deal but still sued us and got the money....avoid this dealer...they also force you to buy the warrenty.... More
Do yourself a favor, stay away from this dealership! Trust me they are crooks and check their Better Business Bureau rating BBB.org, its a F! Numerous complaints against them. "$20,500 all fees incl Trust me they are crooks and check their Better Business Bureau rating BBB.org, its a F! Numerous complaints against them. "$20,500 all fees included except tax." said Mike. When I arrived to the dealership, I asked for Mike, they didn't know who I was talking about, that was the first red flag. I sat down with a different salesman, I told him lets cut to the chase and talk about pricing since I already know what I want. I was told $24,000, I told the salesman I already spoke to "Mike" before I got there and was given the price $20,500. Salesperson came back with the manager. The manager said he didn't know who gave me the price and he is trying to find out who did, that's the second red flag. I was thinking "What is this lame excuse!" I bluntly said "Who did? Did the customer over there (pointing to a person on the showroom floor) pick up the phone? Did this customer (another person on the floor) pick up the phone? No! Somebody here did! Last red flag was when he tried to suggest that I might have dialed a wrong/ different dealership. I said "Really? If we go on NissanUSA.com they will have your dealership phone number wrong?" THIRD RED FLAG. The place is run by no good bunch of crooks. More
I have leased 2 previous cars from Route 22 Nissan and was a happy customer for the past 6 years. Yesterday I tried to lease a new vehicle and the leasing manager GEORGE was very rude and impatient. I lef was a happy customer for the past 6 years. Yesterday I tried to lease a new vehicle and the leasing manager GEORGE was very rude and impatient. I left within 1 hr, they didn't want to negotiate nothing! Never coming back to Route 22 Nissan! In fact for the money they offered to lease a Murano I can easily lease an MDX or a BMW X3! Customer service at this joint sucks above and beyond. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone! More
I would not recommend this dealer. First of all they have a big advertisement on their website saying that they will give $3000 minimum for any trade in which is not true. When I got there they told me my tr a big advertisement on their website saying that they will give $3000 minimum for any trade in which is not true. When I got there they told me my trade in would have to be appraised. I had called and made an appointment to see an Xterra they had in stock. I came down the same day to see it and they told me I could not see the vehicle because it was being worked on for regular maintenance. I made the mistake of going back the following week to see another Xterra which was overpriced compared to what that vehicle was going for in the area. In addition, the salesperson told me the first time that the price listed on the vehicle was a financed price and I had to make an additional $1995 deposit. When I went back the second time, the same person told me that deposit was $2995. Of course he denied it when I mentioned that he gave me two different amounts for the deposit. More
I put a deposit down on a car to hold. They called me back with an offer for the car that didn't meet my standards, so I said I was no longer interested. They have since kept my deposit and have given m back with an offer for the car that didn't meet my standards, so I said I was no longer interested. They have since kept my deposit and have given me the run around as to trying to refund my deposit. I have told them what my bank needed and it could be faxed over. It would've taken them 5 mins to write up what they needed and fax over to my bank, but I keep getting a, "Ok, we'll do it from our end then" bit. Sorry for them though, because I had asked Paul for a copy of what I had signed (always ask for copies, copies, copies) which stated that the deposit was 100% refundable. I have not heard a word from him or the dealership and it has now been a couple days. I do not recommend this dealership and their motto is completely false advertising, with, "Customer satisfaction is our main priority." I will be seeking an attorney if this matter does not get resolved!!!!!! More
