On January 3, 2012, I purchased my first car which was a 2012 Nissan Rouge. Love it!!!!! I decided to go to Rt 22 Nissan because I was referred by a friend that highly recommended this dealership to buy my 2012 Nissan Rouge. Love it!!!!! I decided to go to Rt 22 Nissan because I was referred by a friend that highly recommended this dealership to buy my first car. From the beginning, Sal and Mario made me feel like i was their only customer in the dealership. They explained the process to me and helped me with the many decisions that I had to make. In the end I not only drove out of the dealership with my very first new car but had a feeling that I made new friends and a partnership that will help me with my 2012 Nissan Rogue for years to come. Thanks Sal and Mario!!! -Caitlyn More
My experience purchasing a certified pre-owned 2008 Mercedes C300, was great. It was an internet deal that was handled extremely well by my salesman, Cisco. Once the deal was approved (two days), I t Mercedes C300, was great. It was an internet deal that was handled extremely well by my salesman, Cisco. Once the deal was approved (two days), I traveled from Baltimore, MD to Newark, NJ by train. I was met at the Newark train station by Cisco. I was driven to the dealer and the deal was finalized in 45 minutes. Cisco, Don & Christian were very helpful, very professional and answered all my questions. It was by far the best & quickest automobile transaction I’ve ever completed. My wife loves the car. The ride back to Baltimore was awesome! Well worth the trip. You guys have a customer for life and I will definitely recommend you to all my friends and family. Thanks Guys for everything. Mike Miller More
I recently purchased a beautiful 2008 Denali Xl from Route 22 Nissan in Nj. The night we went to drive off the lot I noticed the navigation DVD was missing. Corey, the salesman, went to the parts depar Route 22 Nissan in Nj. The night we went to drive off the lot I noticed the navigation DVD was missing. Corey, the salesman, went to the parts department and got an old DVD that would not work. We were promised that night by Corey that the navigation DVD would be ordered the next day and mailed to us the next week. I stressed that I would not drive back to nj (I live on Long Island = $13 toll + gas) to pick it up. He PROMISED us he would mail us the DVD and registration together. Well a month later nothing was sent! We had to drive back to jersey to pick up the registration. Again we were told the DVD was on it's way. Two weeks later, Corey told us it was mailed and so were a few CDs left behind in my trade in. One week later when no package arrived we called to speak to a manager! Howard called back and was appalled at corey's actions, he promised it would be taken care of. Well tonight, over 2 months later, we were told we have to drive to jersey to pick up the CDs because it is more important to ROUTE 22 Nissan in New Jersey to save $8 on shipping than to keep a promise to patient cooperative customers who have been strung along like 2 morons! The level of respect and customer service is disgusting! Do not buy a car here, they promise anything to make a deal and then treat you like a dog! More
I was looking for a Nissan Altima and was provided a quote thru truecar.com. Quote was good so went to see them on December 29 2011. They didn't have my choice of car but had "add-on" features which was quote thru truecar.com. Quote was good so went to see them on December 29 2011. They didn't have my choice of car but had "add-on" features which was I was willing to still take. They took a deposit for $ 500. Things didn't work out and I changed my plans for buying the car. Its 11th January 2012 but still have not received the deposit back . Worst persons to get the deposit back. They have no moral standing and I would never recommend anyone to them. DONT GO TO THEM ! To: Nissan Motor Company, Better Business Bureau, NJ. To: Nissan Motor Company, Better Business Bureau, NJ. State Attorney General & Rt 22 Nissan Hello, my name is Michael Scarchilli. This letter To: Nissan Motor Company, Better Business Bureau, NJ. State Attorney General & Rt 22 Nissan Hello, my name is Michael Scarchilli. This letter is shine some light on the false internet advertising that Rt.22 Nissan does to lure its customers into unscrupulous financing deals. This site is www.rt22approvedautos.com. The vehicle ad for a 2010 Ford Transit Connect mini-van, which was immediately taken down (while we were there at the dealership), when they realized the mistake. However I have the ad here below. This Vehicle was listed as ASKING $12,888.00 as you can see this is a reduced price from the sticker of $14805.00 on the windshield. Also note that some verbiage in the ad says “that we are very negotiable and won’t turn away any reasonable offers” As you read on, that is farthest from the truth. I spoke to a sales person named Katie on Jan 3rd about 4:30-5:00 pm and asked if it was still for sale, she said yes and that she would be there till 9:00 that night and would be there in the morning. I told her we were from NY (about a 1.5 hr. drive) that I would get there on Wed Jan. 4th in the morning. I ended up calling back and talked to a lady Kathy I believe it was, to verify if the price, was the actual price listed on the internet and that the VIN number was correct (to give to my Insurance agent and my banker) She said it was. I also asked if the price was negotiable, she said to come down and see Katie in the morning to discuss. I also asked about financing, she said “used car financing was starting at 2.9%”. I said fine I will be there in the morning buy the car. (Please note, Never at any time was there any discussion about my having to use their or any financing, in order to buy this vehicle. We brought $14,000 in cash to make the deal whether or not we could get the financing) I called at 9:00 am on Jan 4th to verify it was still there. The car was there. After arriving about 12:00 pm and finding that Katie had a family emergency and was not able to help us. a gentleman named Andre Ray offered his assistance. A nice fellow who was attentive and helpful. All seemed good until they realized that their internet advertisement failed to say that the $12,888. was for financing price with an additional $2995.00 down as stated in some print ad they showed me after (making the total cost to over $15,800). The salesman even looked at the website and saw the ad himself. He went to his manager and after a couple times back and forth they agreed on the Price of $12,888.00 as it was their mistake for the advertisement. However they did want to do the financing they said, as they also make money on the financing. I said OK, as it would save me some of cash down payment. They took our information and financials and ran the credit and sent the car for detailing as my wife and I went to lunch about 1:30 till about 2:30. Sometime after we returned, Andre’s immediate manager Bob had had met with us and said we were “approved” personally on the loan however, the (NJ.?) banks won’t lend on a personal loan for a commercial vehicle (???) and that we need put it in the business name. Questioning this practice as a bit odd (even suspicious) that the banks are not able to write a personal loan for a mini-van????? We hesitantly filled out another credit application in the corporate name and with my wife’s name as the personal signer for the corporation. And we waited, and waited and waited. Finally they come up with the bad news that the corporation & my wife were denied. We were infuriated to say the least, as it was going on 5 hours in the dealership. We asked the salesman to bring out the General Manager (I do not remember his name at the moment) But he proceeded to be the nice guy and said he would look at the details. Of course I knew exactly what they were doing…Stalling. The entire time stalling, so that we would get frustrated and leave without the car (all because they screwed up). They falsely advertised the vehicle, playing on Ad words, to make a gain on the financing. They figured they’d tell us we were denied so that they would not have to sell the car at the agreed $12,888.00 price. We told them we have the $12,888 in cash, sell us the car so we all could go home. They refused to take the cash because they would not make the interest money they wanted to make. After my wife stormed out with some choice words describing the customer service of the dealership….I asked them to tell me what they needed for the car. Even %100 total cost finance would only have brought in and extra $1,000+ in finance charges over 48 month. So I offered to pay the extra @1000.00 in an attempt to be negotiable myself and be closer to the yellow sticker price of $14,805.00 on the windshield. Yes, I was willing pay more than the advertised price. But not much more… The General Manager came back with the same ridiculous number of over $15,800 is what he needed to get for the car. But he says, because we can’t get the financing, that he can’t sell us the vehicle. (Funny…I’d still like to see the disapproval letter that they would not show me. Although… I told them we had just been approved for $19,000 from a bank, for a 2012 Transit from a Ford dealer in NY) I think it was largely because he said he was OFFENDED by my wife’s anger and strong language towards him. As if 5 hrs. of wasting our time was not offensive to us? He then proceeded to make up some story that someone else (generally pointing over the other side of the showroom) was willing to pay the full asking price and get their financing. When I asked him to point them out so I could go tell them that I was buying the truck (and to see if he was giving me the bull story, which I know they were) He said he would not point them out. He then asks me that “We are entitled to sell it for the most money they can, aren’t we?” Well I think that after agreeing to sell it for $12,888.00 after their advertisement mistake, means NO you are not entitled. You cannot go sell it to someone else for more money while i am in the middle of making the deal with you to buy the car for last 5 HOURS. This was no auction today…. And who doesn’t take a cash sale? I was perfectly capable of paying the new offer of $13,800.00 cash but was still under the original sell price of $14,805.00. and that was all I was willing to negotiate. He flat out told me “NO… I will not sell you this car”. This is a case of false advertisement, deceit, mismanagement and greed. And It is my intent to follow up with the authorities having jurisdiction, such as the Attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau and even the Nissan Motor Company and to be sure that they receive the penalties due for deceitful sales tactics on the unwary public. I hope that they receive false advertisement fines well in excess of what they could have made on that vehicle and that I hope that the owner of the company (if not was…the General Manager) will let those people go from their positions for shady salesmanship practices. It is my intent also, to file a claim with my Attorney for all lost wages for the day, pain and suffering from the aggravation & mental anguish that this event has caused my wife and I. In closing, it is my sincere hope that no one else will go through what we just went through, as this was the most unpleasant car buying experience we have ever had. Sincerely, Michael & Michelle Scarchilli More
WORST F***ING dealer on the planet. Besides being WORST F***ING dealer on the planet. Besides being unfriendly and unprofessional they try to rip you off with the highest rates they can possibly ge WORST F***ING dealer on the planet. Besides being unfriendly and unprofessional they try to rip you off with the highest rates they can possibly get for you ( DO NOT LET THEM GET YOU A LOAN THROUGH THEM)when you can get a much better rate on your own. They price every single car in the lot 6K and 7K dollars less than what they are willing to accept just to get more people in and try to talk them into a deal. Definitely the WRONG dealership if you are trying to save money and if you are looking for professionalism. More
FRiendly, courteous phone staff and salesman, but that's all the good news. After we negotiated a price for the car we wanted, we sat down with the financing guy. He tried to add: $599 for dealer prep, $999 all the good news. After we negotiated a price for the car we wanted, we sat down with the financing guy. He tried to add: $599 for dealer prep, $999 for a "safety inspection" (the car was Nissan-certified pre-owned, so had already undergone a 142 point inspection), $500 for a loan acquisition fee (my credit score is over 700). Their documentation fee was $398, and the registration/titling/license fee was $299! They would not budge on any of these. We left. Went to another NIssan dealer and bought a car...paid $200 for documentation fee, $158 for reg/tags etc (dealer was out of state), and no other fees. Stay away from Route 22 Nissan if you like holding on to your money. More
