Although buying a new/used car can be a stressful experience (even with the best of salesperson) I found the staff at Route 22 Nissen to be very forthright and considerate. My husband and I both purchased our cars, Maxima and Altima from Route 22 Nissan, Hillside. Our salesman was Elios Ramos and he was friendly, helpful and gave us a great deal on both of our cars. The WORST bait & switch place I've ever come across. I called them up asking them if they could beat a lease quote I got from another dealership and they quoted me $20 cheaper a month all-in. across. I called them up asking them if they could beat a lease quote I got from another dealership and they quoted me $20 cheaper a month all-in. A big difference! So I dubiously asked why they were so much cheaper (not that I was complaining) and they said that they were one of the largest volume dealers in NJ and are aggressive in pricing. So we confirmed multiple times the exact car we were talking about and I said I was ready to pull the trigger at that moment and willing to put in a deposit to show good faith. I called the next day to confirm the car had not been sold, and to confirm the quote, and they got a manager on the line - he said that there must have been some miscommunication in quoting on a different car trim because they couldn't do that price. I said there was no miscommunication - they only had 2 cars of that model in stock and both had the tech package. No miscommunication. SO now he said I had to put taxes down and he'd honor the original quote. When I get there, another sales manager comes over to me and hands me a WILDLY more expensive quote. Originally we went from no money down and a very low quote to $2000 down and $60 more a month. HUGE DIFFERENCE. I repeatedly said that on 2 occassions I was at the very least quoted the low lease price with taxes down. He said it was impossible to do even at a higher lease rate. After all said and done, and a huge waste of time, we get up and the salesman said that the whole time, they made a mistake and were quoting us the cheaper trim level! So the high prices they were pushing were wrong and would be even MORE EXPENSIVE!!!! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I figured I'd roll the dice even after reading these other reviews, but please, for the love of G-d, avoid this place at ALL COSTS! HIGHLY UNETHICAL, SLIMY, SLEAZY, and RUDE!!!!!! More
