My 19 year old daughter & I were looking into leasing a Mazda Miata for her. After phoning a number of dealers in the Huntington/ Smithtown area we ended up at Huntington Mazda. They were the ONLY dealer a Mazda Miata for her. After phoning a number of dealers in the Huntington/ Smithtown area we ended up at Huntington Mazda. They were the ONLY dealer who gave us a realistic monthly number over the phone. Almost all of the others refused to give a number over the phone and one dealer underestimated the monthly number buy at least $100 wasting our time, as well as turning us off! From the minute we met John DeCandia, we felt comfortable. He has a sincere calm, and friendly demeanor. His gentile, soft spoken style won us over. My daughter deals with anxiety and John was the ONLY salesman (of many car makers) that she wanted to do business with, albeit it was also the car of her dreams. We went to Smithtown Mazda right after we left Huntington to price the Mitsubishi (they share a showroom) Before we knew what was happening they were trying everything they could to get us to lease the Mazda Miata from THEM insisting that Huntington gave us a bogus number just to get the sale then when it comes time to sign there were going to be all of these enormous additional fees! We went back to Huntington and told them about the conversation, they reassured us that the number was not only accurate but John & manager Rich sweetened the deal even further! We decided these were the people we WANTED to do business with and leased the Miata 2 days later. My daughter (and I) are thrilled with the entire experience from beginning to the end today when she happily drove her dream car out of the lot! The car was ready as promised. John took his time going over every pertinent detail, including walking my daughter through the servicing aspect of the deal. The rest as they say is history! In closing (finally) I can't say enough good things about everyone we dealt with at Huntington Mazda John DeCandia (our salesman) Rich (the Manager) Mary from finance & the other Mary were all warm, friendly and extremely helpful. John was more helpful than any dealer rep I've EVER dealt with. Knowledgable, courteous, and honest. That last one isn't found too much at a car dealership. He was so friendly, kind and really worked with us to get us exactly what we had wanted for a great price. We had wanted a dark gray exterior with a sand interior in the Mazda CX-9. Unfortunately we could not find one on the entire East Coast. BUT..with a lot of hard work and good energy John found one and actually drove 200 miles to go pick it up for us!! I believe had it not been for his amazing energy that I would not have my car today. Once we got the car he was nothing but completely professional and incredible kind to go over every single thing in the car. He even helped me set up my Bluetooth, program my radio stations, and set me up with Sirius radio!! Again we had such a GREAT experience and I will absolutely recommend all my friend and family to Mazda in Huntington and to especially to John DeCandia!! More
John DeCandia was the major reason I decided to stay with Huntington Mazda to pursue purchasing a new car. I was also visiting two other car dealerships that day. At the other dealerships, the salesmen were Huntington Mazda to pursue purchasing a new car. I was also visiting two other car dealerships that day. At the other dealerships, the salesmen were very pushy, did all the talking and no listening, gave me credit app's and asked me what color car I wanted before I even sat in the car. When working with John, he gave me time to look at the cars, speak with my husband, and was not hovering over me, or being pushy. He allowed us space, answered all my questions and followed my lead. In doing so, that resulted in us test driving the car and sitting down to talk in detail about the purchase. Also while test driving the car, John highlighted the features, answered questions, but was not pushing us to buy the car from the backseat . When the time was right, he knew exactly what to do as a salesman, as well as how to treat us personally and that went a long way. At that point I decided if we bought a Mazda, we found the person we wanted to buy the car from. I have been in sales a long time, and I recognize that John has a great style, and will be very successful. By not being pushy and acknowledging our needs, he had the winning combination of someone I wanted to buy a car from. Everyone at Mazda was terrific, and I especially thank John again for selling us an amazing car. I would highly recommend him as a salesman that you will be very satisfied and happy to work with. I previously bought a certified pre-leased 2009 CX-9 and it was killing me in gas. So during a service visit to the Huntington Mazda Service Center, I asked about trading in for a more fuel efficient new ca it was killing me in gas. So during a service visit to the Huntington Mazda Service Center, I asked about trading in for a more fuel efficient new car. The dealer gave me a fantastic deal on my trade-in and I drove away with a gorgeous and completely money saving 2014 CX-5! My credit is not the best, so the finance guy worked really hard to get us the best rate he could. Even though my monthly payment is higher, I'm still paying half of what I was in gas before. Mary is a total doll, and Nick the service guy is so great to work with as I maintain my car. I went back to Garden City Mazda to see what they would offer me, and it was thousands less for my CX-9 that I purchased there. I am SO grateful to Huntington Mazda, AND they are so much more friendly and awesome to work with. They understand the customer and make it fun to purchase a new car. I can't say enough about how much I love this dealership. I am forever loyal to Huntington Mazda! Zoom Zoom! Oh, and icing on the cake is that my CX5 is FABULOUS in the snow and ice. More
JOHN WAS GREAT. I FIRST LOOKED AT MAZDA 6 GT BACK IN AUGUST 2013 BUT TIMING WAS NOT RIGHT FOR ME. JOHN WAS VERY HELPFUL EXPLAINING CAR AND TOLD ME HE WOULD NOT HOUND OR BOTHER ME WITH EXCESSIVE CALLS EC AUGUST 2013 BUT TIMING WAS NOT RIGHT FOR ME. My lease was coming to an end in a couple months and Mazda had sent me an incentive called "Pull Ahead." I figured this would be a good time to start looking into my next lease. Prior to visiting Huntington Mazda, I had visited a south shore dealership where I had leased the 2011 Mazda3 that I had. I had a poor experience there for many reasons. Too much to list. After visiting this south shore dealership, I thought that there was a real chance my next car would not be a Mazda. So, I decided to check out Huntington Mazda as it the dealership closest to me. I walked in and noticed the facility was much nicer than the previous location I went to. I was directed to speak with Mary about the Mazda3. With my previous experience, I was feeling pretty uptight about being in another dealership. Mary was super friendly and very knowledgable about the car I was interested in. She literally knew every detail about the car and about Mazda's previous vehicles. I described what I wanted and I was provided with affordable options. The options provided to me were better priced and the vehicle had better features than the last dealership I went to. There was no BS. At the time, the vehicle was not in stock, so I picked my favorite colors and left a deposit. Jack, the general manager came over and expressed his gratitude for the deposit/purchase and was very personable. Mary kept in touch with me as the dealership searched for a car. She told me to hang in there and the dealership was doing everything she could to find the car. It took about 3 weeks, but Mary kept in touch the whole time and this was quite reassuring. When it came time to closing the deal, it was hard for me to find time to get in with my hectic schedule. Mary and the finance manager, Ed actually came in on their day off just so I could get the car at a time that was convenient for me. Once again, there was no BS. Mary described the whole car in and out. Ed answered all my questions with the paperwork and I left very happy in a 2014 Mazda3 hatchback. Not only did I leave with a vehicle that is gorgeous inside and out, but I got a good deal. This dealership completely turned my experience around. This is now my fourth Mazda and they just keep getting better. Thank you Huntington Mazda. More
