Was talked into leasing, which led to problems with the bank. I have a credit score over 800 with a proven high income uninterupted for over 35 years. Current salary is $70.000, proven with a pay stub. The bank did not want to approve my leasing agreement, and the woman at Mazda handling the financial end (did not get her name) said that she had to ask the bank for a "special favor" (she mentioned to the bank that a have a mutual friend with the Mazda manager) to get approval. Even add-on accessories like floor mats became a problem for bank approval. Apparently, this is all because I have not borrowed a large sum of money recently, as I understand. As far as I am concerned, not having an extensive, recent history of borrowing large sums of money is a good thing, not a bad thing. It is good to not have debt. I financed my last three cars and payed them all off early and every payment was on time. I would have gladly went to another dealer had I known the bank was going to be such a problem. But is was too late to call off the deal. More
