Prompt service. $3000 hidden online markup is misleading and dishonest. Detail and inspection botched after purchase despite leaving the vehicle for an entire day. Great sales personnel and dealing with Tyler was very good. One of issues I had is I had to keep calling for a form to be sent to me to cancel a policy I didn’t want. The other issue I had/still have was good. One of issues I had is I had to keep calling for a form to be sent to me to cancel a policy I didn’t want. The other issue I had/still have was getting my registration transferred to the new to me vehicle I bought. I’ve always had it done the same day or next day. It took 7 days to just get a copy of the new registration, and I only got that because I called on the 7th day at 5pm, prior to that I had call several days. I bought the vehicle on February 10, 2022 and as of today I have not received the hard copy of registration and not sure of any other paperwork yet should have gotten. More
I ordered a vehicle 4 months ago which finally arrived. Empire Ford of New Bedford did not value my trade ($9K under KBB trade-in value) and had a take it or leave it attitude. They seemed very happy tha Empire Ford of New Bedford did not value my trade ($9K under KBB trade-in value) and had a take it or leave it attitude. They seemed very happy that I wouldn't go for their deal because they could make more (currently asking $5K over MSRP) than if they sold it to me at the special order price (we had agreed on MSRP at time of order). So after waiting months they got a new vehicle to sell and I just wasted my time. Didn't even get a "Thank You" for handing them the $11-12K profit they will make selling "my" vehicle over MSRP to someone else. Part of the situation is due to Ford pushing Special Orders instead of stocking dealer lots. If you want a Ford, be sure to get in writing a firm commitment on your trade using an unbiased source like KBB at time of order. Otherwise you might be between a rock and a hard place trying to get a fair price for your trade. Of course, if no trade is involved this predicament would be avoided. Then you just need a firm commitment on price for the ordered vehicle. I gave one star because Ford shares some of the blame for designing a system that allows dealers to take advantage of the situation which they did with gusto. I would give Empire zero stars without Ford's complicity in this biased system that gives dealers a decided advantage. You are left to decide between accepting the dealer's lowball offer on your trade or walking away from your Special Order 3 or 4 months in the making and then having to try again (or give up). Until dealers start carrying inventory that provides consumers with a choice and that allows them to go somewhere else (really your only true negotiating advantage) you will be losing big money on every deal that involves a trade. Good Luck. More
