In order to discuss further she said I had to go into the dealership. I went to the dealer that evening with my father. The salesman assured me they had my information from the online sales department however; he went on to provide a price that was significantly higher than the online quote. The conversation went in circles and the general manager came over. I was appalled that they would not honor negotiating in the store as I was told and increased the price of the car. I told the general manager what a waste of time this was and his team was completely unprofessional. My father said it was BS. After this the general manager was upset that he had given my dad his business card at the start of this conversation and demanded it back. He proceeded to get into my father’s personal space and put his hands on him as we were walking out. Under no circumstances should an employee ever place their hands on a customer. Later the evening I emailed the online sales person requesting to speak with someone about the incident. I never heard back from her. I had to contact corporate to get a response and any acknowledgment of the general managers aggressive behavior. The outcome of those conversations with corporate and the dealership owner fell short. I never thought I’d have to review a dealership because I didn’t feel safe. To my knowledge that general manager is still employed. It’s important to note there was another reviewer who had a very similar experience in August of 2020 and noted that the same GM tried to physically intimidate him. This is the most unprofessional dealership my wife and I have ever dealt with. The GM, Mike Meha, allowed an employee to smoke in our brand new car, then said we were lying About the smoke smell, even after have ever dealt with. Nothing I like better then to be put on hold for extended period of time by there service department. But it's my fault for buying a car at Elgin Hyundai. I will not make that mistake again. Watch out for the Elgin Hyundai service department. They made me pay $78 for an oil change that should have been free under the Hyundai complementary maintenance program. I can't say enough good things about how professional Manager Mike Meah and his staff are. They went above and beyond to give us the best deal without the typical sales pressure or upsell. Worst experience ever!!! Beware!!! Very rude and ill-mannered manager!!! I was searching for Tucson online as soon as I submitted my request form I got call from Elgin Hyundai yesterday. The rep Michelle told me they have 4 Tucson 2021 in stock in different colors. I told her to email me the details but she sent me a general email. So today I drove there one hour after work to be told they dont have any in stock. Only 2022 in blue was in stock. When we told the manager (he didnt tell me his name, he is of Indian/Pakistani descent) this was a clear case of Bait and switch, he started yelling at us, called me aunty (although I am half his age). A very ill-mannered man who was yelling at us inside his showroom. Refused to believe that his sales rep told me they had 4 in stock. Accused me of mistaking his dealership for some other. Was constantly talking over me and wouldn't let me finish. I am a woman and he behaved so disrespectfully with me. I felt so bad taking my husband all the way to this horrible place! More
