Purchasing our new (2012) Santa Fe was probably the least painless car purchase we have ever had! Thanks to Josh at Elgin Hyundai. He couldn't have done more to help us find what we were looking for. Friends painless car purchase we have ever had! Thanks to Josh at Elgin Hyundai. He couldn't have done more to help us find what we were looking for. Friends had given us his name saying he was great to deal with. And we certainly agree! We left happily with our Santa Fe Limited. More
Saturday morning my wife and I were going just to look at a new car. Josh helped us out tremendously. We drove three different trim levels of the same car to make sure we were interested in the car or not. a new car. Josh helped us out tremendously. We drove three different trim levels of the same car to make sure we were interested in the car or not. He worked with us on the value of our trade in, and helped get us the best possible deal we could have gotten. He is knowledgable of the brand and very friendly. Usually you buy a car and you have to deal with several people. Josh took care of it all from the sales side as well as the financing part of it. It was a great experience and definitely worthy of sharing with anyone that I know will be looking for a new vehicle. I'll definitely talk to Josh the next time I am in the market for a new car!! Great buying experience working with Joshua. That is why I am a repeat new car buyer at this dealership. The sales experience is what keeps me coming back. I am a repeat new car buyer at this dealership. The sales experience is what keeps me coming back. More
After speaking to a very nice lady (Danielle) and having worked out all the details (model, options and price) of the vehicle, I even offered my credit card (as a deposit) to hold the vehicle for me. I requ worked out all the details (model, options and price) of the vehicle, I even offered my credit card (as a deposit) to hold the vehicle for me. I requested the lady to be present for discussion, simply to reduce repeated interactions with the sales folks. I was promised that the vehicle will be ready the next day. Unfortunately, Danielle couldn't be present due to some unavoidable circumstances. I arrived 15 minutes early to find out that the lady has an emergency and won't be able to meet me. Josh introduced as the Asst. Sales Manager came in to help. The first thing I was told is that the vehicle got sold last night. So, he picked up another vehicle with very similar options but a different color. He agreed to sell for the agreed price BUT, when I looked at the OTD (out the door price), there are taxes that are added on all kinds of values which is debatable. When I asked how much I could get for a trade-in, the value provided was about 65% less than what was quoted by another Hyundai dealership; 50% less than CARMAX and same as what was quoted by the Honda dealer. The total price I would end up paying is way more (at least $2500) than what was explained over the phone. After having spent 2 hours with these folks, I have to admit that my car buying experience has become just awful. I am not sure why a sales person cannot make a deal where they make a profit and the customer goes happy as well. The story seems to be very familiar. They show one car but plan to sell something else. This is probably typical salesmanship. There is no more a price of a car and a profit that the dealer makes. Rather, it is all about how much the car can be sold for by a so-called smart salesperson. Truly ridiculous, unethical and fraudulent. No wonder why the automotive industry is in such shambles! More
Great experience for a usually miserable process. The finance guy was very helpful and our salesperson was a delight to work with. I purchased a new 2013 Sonata. I wanted to work out a deal on the internet. I was quoted an out the door price. I was pretty adamant I wanted to do this almost all online. When I got there, of course, th deal on the internet. I was quoted an out the door price. I was pretty adamant I wanted to do this almost all online. When I got there, of course, the price was higher. I let my salesman know I was not going to be buying the first day I went in. After he and I spoke his manager came over and asks why I just did not want to take the car home and pay for it later. When I told him I would be back the following day with my down payment his response was "I would prefer to get this done now". I informed him I would prefer to give him my $20,000.00 on my terms. Typical sales manager with a bad attitude trying to bully someone into a car when they clearly said they were not comfortable buying that day. The car didn't have floor mats in it. They said they should be in in 2 days. A week later and I can't get anyone to help me acquire the floor mats that should have come with the car. To top it all off, I get an E mail from the general manager thanking me for my purchase. He also stated I shouldn't hesitate to contact him directly with any questions. It has been 5 days since I E mailed him with a few questions. No reply. To sum it up, the dealership itself is unclean and run down. Some of the salespeople there are typical underhanded and over aggressive sales people. Do your homework and don't let them bully you. When they tell you they have squeezed every cent out of the car for their price, get up and try to leave. They will find a little more squeezing room. More

Josh was very helpful, knowledgeable and walked us through every step of the process. He didn't make us feel under pressure and made sure he answered all of our questions. He brought the cars to the front for us to look at so we did't have to walk around in the 90 degree heat. We were only in the finance manager's office for a total of 4 minutes. Very professional finance depatment. Josh helped make our car buying experience stress free and we are very happy with our new car. I would highly recommend asking for Josh Hastings when buying your next Hyundai at Elgin Hyundai. We will definitely go back there to buy our next vehicle through Josh. More
