I just purchased a new Sonata from Steve Johnson and while I can't stand buying cars, this experience was pleasant, never rushed and went very well. Steve is a great asset to Elgin Hyundai. while I can't stand buying cars, this experience was pleasant, never rushed and went very well. Steve is a great asset to Elgin Hyundai. More
This showroom is not gud for buying used cars; try to sell a car with engine problems. They are not committed with minimum effort towards fixing the problems in car which they accepted. Next day they try sell a car with engine problems. They are not committed with minimum effort towards fixing the problems in car which they accepted. Next day they try to showcase the car in good condition, when we had a test drive the engine problem blown up again. When we asked about the problem Steve says it will charged extra to fix this mechanical problem in engine. All the effort made toward buying the car is wasted as they are not genuine. They don’t know how to speak with customers. More
Dealership was very responsive when intrested in car. However once I test drove the car they were unwilling to answer questions in regards to a possible fixes to the vehicle for sale. Sent several email However once I test drove the car they were unwilling to answer questions in regards to a possible fixes to the vehicle for sale. Sent several emails to the Salesman Thomas Olsen and Brian Craig with no repsonse, after a week I notice the car was no longer for sale, never recieved a courtesy call or email. I guess thats customer service, wouldn't recommend doing business with a dealership. What overall concerned me is that the brakes need work which is very expensive on a BMW, I believe my concern and cost is the reason I never heard back, the price was competitive, but not if they had to fix the brakes and sell at that price. My guess is that someone else who doesn't have the knowledge on the cost of these brakes bought the car, well they will find out real quick that this will set them back $2500 to $3000. More
The Bait and Switch was used on me April 22nd at Elgin Hyundai. On their website, a used 2007 Azera was advertised for $9965.00. The salesman took a long time to type in data on his computer. I was give Hyundai. On their website, a used 2007 Azera was advertised for $9965.00. The salesman took a long time to type in data on his computer. I was given a very, very low value on my trade in, $700 total trade value and then was told that they would have to do a lot of work on my car before they could sell it off to a wholesaler. The final proposal was scribbled on a sheet of paper with $10,850 as the starting price for the car. Then the salesman said that the $9965 price was an "Internet Price". At that point I didn't want start negotiating because it was past closing time. I wanted to return the next morning to look at this car in the daylight, but the salesman wouldn't even let me keep a copy of their proposal. After running these figures on my own paper at home, it turns out that their proposal amounted to me giving them my trade in car for FREE, and still paying approximately $200.00 more than their internet price. UNBELIEVEABLE ! It is true that they keep your car keys so you don't have the option to just leave when you're feeling uncomfortable and cheated. Tom Olsen, salesperson, made several exaggerated and/or false statements to me during my visit. On the business card, Mike Medina shows as the Sales Manager, although I didn't meet him. My bottom line... DON'T TRUST their WEBSITE PRICING, they DO NOT HONOR IT! More
Brian Craig worked hard to find the vehicle with what we wanted in a timely matter. Once we meet with Brian and Darwin they were helpful with questions we had and a pleasure to work with. Joshua was also v wanted in a timely matter. Once we meet with Brian and Darwin they were helpful with questions we had and a pleasure to work with. Joshua was also very helpful with us during the finance time. I would recommend the dealership and all three employee's to anyone I know. More
I visited the dealership 2 weeks or so before purchasing my vehicle. It was the 3rd or 4th dealership I had visited that week. I met Angel Santiago that morning and we test drove a couple of cars. I did my vehicle. It was the 3rd or 4th dealership I had visited that week. I met Angel Santiago that morning and we test drove a couple of cars. I did not really have a plan or a real intention to by a car before the summer and told Mr. Santiago this. He was very understanding and encouraged me to not make any impulsive decisions and to go home and do some homework so that when I was really ready to make a purchase, I had a good idea of what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. It was really a great change from my previous experience with car salesmen. I spend some time the follwing week reading up on different models and looking at my finances and credit scores. When I felt like I was better prepared, I went online and tried to do as much as I ccould do that way so as to avoid the stereotypical buying a car experience that make so many people uncomfortable. I got a call from a woman named "Jennifer", I think, at Hyundia and she explained that she would be handling my online inquiry follow-up. Over the next couple of days we spoke and e-mailed back and forth and by that Wednesday evening, she send me an actual plan for buying the car that I wanted to buy. She had worked out all of the terms; the money down, interest rate, months and payments. I asked if the deal was "firm" and she said "Yes". I told her that I would be in Friday at 10 A.M. and we would do the deal then. When I got there, "Jennifer" was no where to be found. Neither was the car that I picked out, the payment I agreed to or any other part of the deal. I was very unhappy and feeling like I had wasted time. Enter Angel Santiago...He calmed me down enough to keep me from walking out. We drove a couple of more cars and the last one was actually the car I had negotiated buying on-line with "Jennifer". The only glitch was the credit rating that the dealership said they were using was not the same as the three that I printed up the day before. The dealership did not show me the credit report but stated that it was almost 100 points worse than the three I had. This did not make me happy. I understand that when I say that I will pay this much, that I might have to move off of that, but I have to feel like I am not being abused. By the time Angel and I finished, I had the car I wanted at a little more than I originally agreed to pay on-line, but still a payment that I could do without any real stress. I am not sure why the deal got so screwy, but I do know that I would have walked out and drove the mile to the Chevy dealer and bought there for a very comparable price if Angel had not kept his cool and helped me keep mine. I have mentioned him to several friends as a fair and personable salesman that would work for them. He dos not come off like some slick cartoon charater type like you see in movies. He seems to be a very genuine person with an understanding of what real people have to keep in mind when shopping for a car. I would suggest in the future, that when dealing with people on-line, that Hyundai understand why they are doing so much on-line and communicate to the dealership what is being agreed to. That is very important and could be a deal breaker for a lot of buyers. More
After walking off three lots, I went in to the Hyundai dealership to check out some new cars. My dad went with to help me out and we were very upfront with how much we were going to pay and we needed a ca dealership to check out some new cars. My dad went with to help me out and we were very upfront with how much we were going to pay and we needed a car to fit that budget. Matt helped us out and was very friendly. He was patient when I could not make up my mind about the Accent or the Elantra. After a quite a while and a lot of haggling he was still very friendly and accomodating. I would reccommend this dealership and I would reccomend Matt! More
Micheal did a wonderful job trying to help us find a used car. I'm glad he was so patient. He was so caring in trying to help us get to the price range and car we wanted. We ended up going a little bit over car. I'm glad he was so patient. He was so caring in trying to help us get to the price range and car we wanted. We ended up going a little bit over budget but the car he found was well worth it for the price. We liked the Hyundai Elantra and he got us one! Micheal and everyone in the building were very friendly and helpful! Thank you again for helping me & my mother buy my first car! :) More
Rec'ed the best price, and just as importantly the best price on our trade ins, as we purchased two vehicles from them within a week. Profession, quality service from the first internet contact with best price on our trade ins, as we purchased two vehicles from them within a week. Profession, quality service from the first internet contact with Danielle until the end, when David give instructions on the products and features just prior to driving off. They worked hard to find us the exact vehicles we wanted, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a Hyundai. I had searched the internet and in person at other Hyundai, Honda, and Toyota dealerships, but none of them provided the easy to negotiate prices I rec'ed here. More
