BUYER BEWARE ... GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO BUY YOUR CAR! Please read this before you buy from Elgin Hyundai!! In October of 2012, I was in the market to purchase a new Hyundai Elantra. I work in Arlingt Please read this before you buy from Elgin Hyundai!! In October of 2012, I was in the market to purchase a new Hyundai Elantra. I work in Arlington Heights so looked at Patrick Hyundai in Schaumburg. I ended up finding one that I particularly liked, and, after working with employees at Patrick Hyundai I took it for a test drive, worked through financing and negotiated what I thought to be a fair price. The price included one of the perks at Patrick Hyundai, which were benefits from an “Ultimate Preferred” Program. It included many things, the item that attracted me the most was the $8.95 Oil Changes for as long as I owned the vehicle, free Multipoint Inspections with each oil change, free Spring and Fall Maintenance Inspections, and free Service loaners for all appointments. I live in Elgin and though I would take a look at what you had before committing to the purchase at Patrick. I went to the Elgin Hyundai showroom one afternoon and Steve Johnson assisted me. I showed him all the paperwork from Patrick which included exactly what I wanted. It ended up that you had the same vehicle that I wanted as well, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I indicated to Steve that I already had negotiated a price with Patrick and he inquired what that was and I provided him with the document showing my quoted price from Patrick Hyundai. Elgin Hyundai was able to meet that negotiated price to the penny. I still was a bit hesitant, as Elgin Hyundai did not offer any type of service package that included the oil changes and loaner vehicle. He asked me what it would take to have me as a customer and I then indicated that Patrick Hyundai was able to include the Ultimate Preferred Program. I provided him with a Word Document of the items that are listed on the following link: http://www.patrickhyundai.com/preferred-customers.aspx Steve immediately indicated that providing me with the same services would not be a problem and that he would include it in the paperwork submitted to Elgin Hyundai. Upon making that agreement, I decided to purchase from Elgin Hyundai instead of Patrick. Steve indicated that the "preferred Customer" document would be in the "system" which would indicate what services I would be entitled to. I drove off the lot the next day with my vehicle. The first oil change I came in for at Elgin was free, because it was a new vehicle. In December of 2013, I came in for an Oil Change. I also came in because the two charger outlets in the car (the lighter and the outlet charger on the side panel of the front seat passenger seat) were not charging any of my devices. I put both those items on the on-line appointment document, as well as my request for a loaner vehicle. I went in for my appointment, and after about 45 minutes, I was told that my car was ready. They changed the oil, found nothing wrong with the charger outlets. When they rang me out, they charged me the full price of an oil change because there was nothing in the "system" regarding the deal was negotiated between Steve Johnson and myself. The gentleman in Service Kevin) indicated that there was nothing he could do, except leave a message for the manager, Brian Craig, to call me. I left a message for him to call me that morning to discuss this (attempt #1) and paid the total bill. The next day, Wed, Dec 11, 2013 at 11:02 AM, I did not hear from Brian, so I sent him an email. (attempt #2) In the meantime, I am driving the car and notice that the charging outlets don't work, so I go to Verizon and purchase a NEW car charger for my devices. I plug them in and the outlets STILL don't work. I try it with 2 other chargers, and the outlets STILL don't work. Several weeks go by and I haven't received a phone call, an email or any communication from Brian, so I decide to send an email to the General Manager, Chris Mandelke, on Tue, Jan 14, 2014 at 3:07 PM (attempt #3) Still another several weeks pass, and I hear nothing, no phone call, no email or any attempt to contact me. It becomes time for my oil change because, and I am getting concerned because I am taking my car out of town for Spring Break. So, on 3/6 at 10:13 I phone Elgin Hyundai and leave a message on the voice mail of both Brian and Chris, asking them to PLEASE get back with me with a resolution so that I can get my oil change at the price that I was given upon the point of sale. (attempt 4). Again, I hear nothing. No email, no phone call, nothing. So, on Thu, Mar 20, 2014 at 10:47 AM, I send an email to the owner of Elgin Hyundai, Bob Loquercio. I indicate my problems with communication with his staff as well as the issue that I have with his dealership not honoring the contract. I indicate that I am leaving for Spring Break and I need an oil change. I ask for him to please contact me for resolution. (attempt 5) The next morning, after hearing nothing, I paid full price at another location to get my oil change. It is now 2 weeks later and I have still heard nothing from Elgin Hyundai. They have taken my money and now want nothing to do with my vehicle. I am now having to look for another dealership to have them take care of the outlets in the car that should have been repaired back in December of 2013. Please be very cautious when purchasing from Elgin Hyundai. It is appalling how horrible they treat you after you sign on the dotted line. I feel that I have been more than fair after 5 attempts and almost 4 months of waiting for a response and a resolution from this business. More

I worked with the same salesman from beginning to end and Igor was so great!!! He got me the car I needed, and not the car that would give him the highest bonus. This was my first car purchase and they made Igor was so great!!! He got me the car I needed, and not the car that would give him the highest bonus. This was my first car purchase and they made it easy, and comfortable. Richard helped me because he made the paper signing very easy, explained the process, and overall made me feel comfortable. They both were professional, nice, and made me feel at ease. They also made sure I walked out with a car that i could afford and they met my monthly payment price. I would tell anyone to go to these guys to buy a car there. More
It is important to clarify that we were the only clients in the building for most of this story, until we discuss another client arriving. We found an ad on autotrader for a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with a in the building for most of this story, until we discuss another client arriving. We found an ad on autotrader for a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with around 10,000 miles at Elgin Hyundai for approximately 23k. We drove out to Elgin Hyundai only to find the vehicle was not on location, but would be back at 1:00. Jasper was helping us and said we could come back at 1:00 to see the vehicle and it was suggested by Mike that we take a similar car out to see if we liked it or not. We took the test drive and were generally pleased with the vehicle, and started to talk pricing, trade in, etc. While I went out to look at our current vehicle with Jasper, my wife and toddler waited inside. She sat in the waiting area listening to the sales staff, at least 3 or 4 of them talking loudly and boisterously about their late night adventures, including multiple expletives and derogatory comments, for example, "so I said F**k that B***h!" At one point, one of the sales staff noticed she was in ear shot, and said, "pardon my french". It was outrageous. Next - while working with us to talk numbers, Jasper was paged to go help a customer over in the other building, while he was still helping us, trying to sell us a vehicle! After waiting 30-40 minutes, Jasper came back and apologized, expressing that he was tasked with helping two clients at once. On the "new" side of the lot, Jasper and I were walking back over and somebody yelled at him from across the room "why don't you put that donut down!" I hadn't realized he grabbed a donut while he was looking at paperwork, but more importantly I was surprised by the outburst in such an unprofessional way. Once back on the used side, Jasper tried to explain to my wife his apologies for being tasked away, and was yelled at again from across the room, "Hey, Jasper, how could you leave those clients unattended next door, get over there!" We were stunned - it was as if we were not even there. Clearly - the other client was more valued than us. The yelling across the room was bizarre enough, but pulling him from actively helping us to go help somebody else was completely rude. There were still other sales staff hanging out, swearing, and talking about their drinking adventures, yet our clerk was being pulled away yet again. Finally - Mike came over to help us. We stated we were leaving to go to Kia, and he suggested that if we wanted the car, to let him know cause he could have it there within an hour, if not, it wouldn't be back from Schaumburg until next week. This was after we had been there for almost two hours - and nobody had even tried to get the car we were trying to buy back to Elgin?! Also - it was nearly 1:00, so clearly we were lied to from the get go. We were tired of being treated like our money was no good, and left. Most unfortunate for them, we loved the Hyundai. We could not bear to contribute any money to this horrible establishment. Further adding to the negative review was that both the Male and Female restrooms were "out of order", and no other restrooms were pointed out. If you want to feel ignored, undervalued, hang out in a dirty sales area, and listen to swearing riddled tales of 30+ year old booze adventures, you should check out Elgin Hyundai. If not, AVOID.
