I received a call one day later from Rob indicating that Chris Mandelke wanted to talk to me regarding possibly trading in my vehicle. I did my homework on my vehicle shortly after the call and figured that because of the car's value, that it wouldn't be financially feasable for me to trade in the vehicle. I still decided to go ahead and listen to what Chris had to offer. I was surprised that he gave me a very generous offer on the trade in. He explained that since they knew my vehicle's history ( since it had been serviced there) and the cost of transporting a used vehicle that they would have purchased from auction, that he could afford to make a very good offer on my trade-in. Chris and Igor were very professional salespeople who clearly explained everything in the negotiation process. It was the easiest trade-in that I have ever made because of their professionalism. Everything went so smoothly from oil-change to trade-in. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or refer Elgin Hyundai to anyone purchasing a new or used vehicle. Thanks also go out to Jenni Tuton for following up with me on my experience by phone and e-mail. More
Left with a great car I had been hunting for a used car for about a month so I've recently dealt with a number of dealers and salesmen. This was my first experience with E I had been hunting for a used car for about a month so I've recently dealt with a number of dealers and salesmen. This was my first experience with Elgin Hyundai. I found the car online so I didn't do any other browsing on the lot. I was greeted warmly by Matt upon entering the office and I worked with him the rest of the way. Matt was a very straight-forward guy. He didn't try to push me to make a decision but patiently answered all my questions and gave me time and space to think through my decision. We reviewed the Carfax and any notes the guys had during the inspection. He went the extra mile to dig up any information they had on the previous owner and any work the car might need. They also let me take the car to my mechanic who strongly endorsed the purchase. The car was very clean inside and out even though it was a 2005. It needed the timing belt done (a repair they don't handle at their dealership) and was flexible with the price as a result. I didn't interact with the manager or other salesmen, but I can definitely recommend working with Matt if you're interested in a car at this dealership. I feel I got a good, reliable car at a good price. More
Professional Sales Team with great selection & fair prices! Just purchased a Hyundai Sonata yesterday from Elgin Hyundai! I started researching online before heading out car shopping. I have made several Just purchased a Hyundai Sonata yesterday from Elgin Hyundai! I started researching online before heading out car shopping. I have made several car purchases in the past, so I dreaded what my day had in store. I knew I needed to go to Elgin Hyundai, and I even created a profile on their website and saved several cars I was interested in. Elgin Hyundai's car prices on Cars.com, and their dealer website, is what brought me into their dealership to test drive several cars. They had many to choose from, and I liked all the cars I test drove. It was Lou Mocnik's sales professionalism, manners, and expertise that made me want to buy from Elgin Hyundai. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for to fit all the diversity and needs of my life. Lou helped me sort it all out and select the best car for me with the best value. I was impressed with how Lou listened to me, how he advised based on my needs, and how he didn't make me feel pressured. I was then introduced to the Sales Manager, Casey Dobczyk. Casey is very passionate and knowledgeable about car financing. It took a little time, but Casey really impressed me with how he was working diligently with me and for me to get the best finance deal to fit my needs. Casey didn’t stop until I, the customer, was happy! Next I met John Baker, the Finance Manager. John was very efficient and pleasant. He walked me through all the paperwork and answered all my questions. He also made me feel comfortable signing all the papers necessary. In the end, Elgin Hyundai impressed me with their teamwork, honesty, and how they made my car buying experience a positive one! I will definitely look at Elgin Hyundai first when I need to buy another car in the future. More

From the first phone call to inquire about one of their used vehicles we had excellent customer service. We called in the evening and planned on going in the next day to look at the vehicle. We were coming from about 2 hours away so Casey held the vehicle until we were able to get there the next afternoon. It was pulled up & ready for us to test drive when we arrived. We had our finances prepared, but wanted Casey to run numbers to see if he could beat the interest rate we got and he did which was a great bonus we were not expecting. We were able to get everything wrapped up in one afternoon, which was good considering we also had to bring our two young kids along. They also filled up the gas tank at my request since we had a decent drive home. Casey and his staff were fast and efficient. We also noticed after all the paperwork was signed & done and we were pulling out of the dealership that the mats were not in the vehicle. Long story short Casey had factory mats shipped directly to us with in a week- no expense to us. Not that we plan on buying another car in the near future, but if for some reason we would have to I have no hesitation working with Casey or the staff at Elgin Hyundai. Amazing customer service & great experience -- Thank you! More
BUYER BEWARE ***** BUYER BEWARE ***** This was the first time I purchased a car. The first time I went to the dealership I dealt with the finance manager named ***** BUYER BEWARE ***** This was the first time I purchased a car. The first time I went to the dealership I dealt with the finance manager named Casey, and a salesman named Art. I told them that to my knowledge I had little to no credit, as I am young. They got me "approved" for a payment of $345 a month with 18% interest, $1500 down and a trade in. The first car I looked at was a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. I didn't feel 100% comfortable with the numbers so we left. I called in morning and said I wanted the car. I came in that day and they said I wasn't approved for the original car and had a new guy working on the loan named Jimmy. No more dealing with Casey, I wanted to work with him and I wanted the original car. I drove a 2013 Hyundai Elantra which was the car I bought. They jacked up my car payment to $368 and promised when promised my payment would not go up, then they denied quoting me the original payment. I bought the 2013 Elantra cause I needed a car and thought I was getting a good deal. I did everything on my end that was needed, they tried to get me to write two check for the down payment, thank god I had a carbon copy of the original check. I basically harassed Casey to come and pick up my trade in. My trade in that didn't start and sat on the street in front of my house for 3 1/2 weeks!! I called the dealership multiple times a week and so did my boyfriend. After having the new car for almost a month, my boyfriend and I put hundreds of dollars into the car we thought was mine, to find out almost a month later my loan was never approved by the bank. I got a phone call from Casey saying the deal fell through and I had to bring back the car and downgrade. Confused and obviously annoyed I called the bank that the loan was through(they refused to give me the name of the bank the first couple times I called) and discovered that the finance guy I worked with named Jimmy, LIED on my bank application by proving false information. I called Casey after talking to the bank and demanded to know what was going on and why it was all of the sudden "not approved". Turns out after re-reading through all my paperwork there was no bank listed on the loan to being with. They were fake numbers created by Jimmy. The dealership knew from the being, before I even drove off the lot that I was not approved for the car, yet they had no problem cashing my check and taking my trade in almost a month later. After doing research I learned that it is a practice that dealerships use to get you to A) fall in love with the car they know you aren't approved for, B) get you back into their dealership to downgrade vehicles, and C) charge you the same amount but hike up your interest. I liked the car and just wanted to pay my first payment, this was before Casey informed me about the loan. Casey threatened me saying I didn't own the car and that If I didn't bring the car back in an hour he was calling the police. My boyfriend called him back and calmed him down. He agreed to give us a couple days so I could get to work. He also said he would have a new loan ready to go with my payment staying the same on an older car. With that being said I wasted no time going to a credit union the next day. Well I get there and guess what happens? The credit union drops my interest rate by a whopping 14% and my car payments by $91 dollars. I went from paying almost $10,000 in interest to now paying about $2,000 in interest. They cut me a check right then and there and I took it to the dealer. I get there and Casey is on the phone with the bank. We over hear him saying that of course their "approved" loan didn't go through for the downgrade they were trying to sell me. He hangs up the phone and says "So you like the Elantra right?" I told him yeah I like the one I own and gave him a check from the financial institution. He was confused then was saying congrats and walked us down to the front desk to process the payment. He handed me my receipt and said not to leave any bad reviews and once again said congrats. I told him I was still calling corporate. He got upset and said I hope your lying, I walked to my car and he walked inside. When I was about to pull away, he came out the door and yelled at me "You're really gonna leave me a bad review after I tried to help you?!" This dealership did nothing but attempt to scam me and take advantage of me for my age, and credit history. The thing that was most disappointing about this whole experience is the fact that Casey and Jimmy never admitted that they were at fault for the false information on the loan, when I had the proper documentation with the truth. I provided them with all the correct information and they still decided to lie in order to try and have my only option be downgrading to a lower end vehicle. They denied they were at fault and that they made multiple mistakes. Their job is to have an honest practice that allows customers finance cars, not lie and cheat the system by manipulating customers. More
